We love Modern Pet! Kris has been walking our dogs for the past three years. They are always great at communicating, very flexible with our schedule and go above and beyond. Love hearing about the friends our pups made and how they did during the day. Highly recommend them! read more

Modern Pet is the best! They've been walking our pooch twice a day for nearly three years. They are very professional and go above and beyond with service. We count on them to take good care of our pup and they always exceed expectations. They leave a detailed note from every walk and provide adorable little gifts for our dog on big holidays. They've become part of the family! read more

Kris and Israel provide an outstanding level of service. They have been walking our dog, Maya, for more than three years. They are extremely responsible and punctual. read more

These guys are awesome. Great communication, extremely friendly, and they go above and beyond for your pets. If you live in the area, I would definitely recommend Isreal and Kris! We couldn't be happier with them, and neither can our dog! read more

Israel and Kris are thoughtful and reliable pet sitters. It's easy to book with them online, and check in while we're traveling, and they have always made themselves available -- even at short notice. read more

Kris and Israel have been caring for our firstborn, a not-always-friendly kitty, for two years when we are out of town and we are so grateful for them. They leave cute little notes for us letting us know how our kitty was while we were away, and they send occasional pictures of kitty being adorable. They've been willing to help out when we needed someone with keys to our place to stop by, and even hauled a heavy package that arrived while we were on vacation up to our unit from the lobby. They're consistent, reliable, trustworthy and truly love animals. What a great company. read more

Kris and Israel are just fantastic. They take good care of our cats when we're gone by hanging out with them and playing with them. One of our cats also suffers from acne, and they are able to easily apply the cream on our cat with no problem! He always fights me when I try to apply the cream! We've used Modern Pet enough that we can tell the cats can recognize them and feel comfortable around them. The second cat is particularly skittish so it's helpful to have such caring sitters when we are gone. We've gone through several other sitters who would never update us or leave a nice note when we return home. Kris and Israel are just super considerate when it comes to leaving your babies with them! Plus, instagram pictures! One of our cats has been on there a couple times now! Always fun to look at, though, no matter what! read more

We have been with Modern Pet for over 3 years now and they have been great with our special boy. There's always something going on with him and they have taken such good care of him, from giving him meds to helping him up the stairs when he needed it. They are also amazing with last minute walks, when you get stuck at work or something comes up last minute. They are extremely flexible and accommodating. We are also about to leave our big baby with them for a week and we know he will be in good hands. Thanks Israel, Kris and team! read more

I recently moved back to the city and I was in need of a cat sitter for when I travel for work. I reached out to Kris and Israel from Modern Pet. Israel came over and I had the opportunity to interview him and get a better idea of their business. He was on time, very courteous, asked all the right questions, and was great with the cats! I've had them come multiple times while I have been gone. The cats love them and it is great to have the piece of mind that my cats are well taken care of while I'm away! read more

Kris & Israel have been taking such amazing care of my dogs for over 10 years. Their level of care and pride in what they do is unmatched. My friends have told me about Wags and other apps but Im not interested. Their personal attention and care is what brings me a sense of relief that Chloe is taken care of. When Im out of town, Chloe stays with Kris & Israel and I know that she's so happy and comfortable. read more

We made the switch to Modern Pet after a few too many bad experiences with our prior walker and we couldn't be happier with the service that Kris and Israel provide. Our dog Lola LOVES her walks with the Modern Pet crew. My wife and I both work full time and often need to stay late on short notice and Modern Pet are very, very flexible in accomodating walks on a short notice, which is so important for us. Make the switch like we did - you won't be disappointed! read more

Let me join the chorus of how great Modern Pet is. I don't need them for regular daily walks, but Israel has stayed overnight at my house with my pups twice now. The first time I called him extremely last minute and he put my mind at ease instantly. As soon as my girls and I met him, I could tell that he just "got" my high-maintenance old lady dog and my perma-puppy. It was great to get text updates while I was away and I loved the note that detailed their time with Israel when I came home. I called Israel again recently and scheduled another 3-day overnight. Well, horrible storms and a stand-by plane ticket had me stuck in an airport for 2 extra days. As awful as the situation was, the easiest thing was just being able to call Israel and get a "no problem!" when I asked him if he could stay another night. When I finally got home, my dogs were happy to see me, but I could tell they hadn't missed me THAT much!! They were more than fine, because as I read in Israel's note--he had stopped by again around dinner just to check on them, since he wasn't sure when I'd finally make it home. I was thrilled! And the online billing is great for me--it makes the entire process easy and efficient. read more

Kris and Israel are the best! They have taken care of our goldendoodle for years and she loves her walks with them and her neighborhood dog friends. She gets sooo excited any time she sees them. We also have had amazing experiences with her staying with them for overnight care. I love that we can trust them completely and that they sincerely love our doggie as if she was their own. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog walker. You won't regret it because they are the awesome! read more

Isreael has been walking our dog for the last six months and we couldn't be happier with the service he provides. Right after we first her, I researched several dog walking services in the area, and I found that Modern Pet had the best reviews and offered the most reasonable rates. At our initial meeting, Isreael took an extensive amount of time to get to know our dog, recommend how to care for her, and to answer all of our "new dog owner" questions. Israel is very flexible with scheduling-- we can text him to request evening and weekend walks when we know that we'll be away and he is almost always available. After meeting him and reading his daily notes, we're convinced that Israel is a true dog lover and that he loves his job in general. read more

Modern Pet was a GREAT find when my husband and I moved into West Town. Kris and Israel have taken terrific care of our energetic golden retriever Charley. They were reliable, trustworthy, priced reasonably, and most of all- Charley LOVED them! They were good with Charley's allergies and would only give him potato treats. They were super flexible with our schedule and would roll with any kind of changes in the routine. They also did weekend care of Charley when my husband and I would go on trips. They would leave us fantastic notes about their walks with Charley, letting us know he was always well taken care of. They also do all their billing on-line so it was very easy to pay them. I would not hesitate to recommend Modern Pet to anyone! They are better than any other dog walking service I have used in the city! read more

Kris and Israel have been taking care of my pugs for nine years. Along the way, they've taken care of more than a dozen foster dogs for me as well as our third permanent addition to the family. The dogs love them so much, they bark at me more than they bark at Kris! I have saved the daily notes for the past nine years and it's fun to look back and see how the walks went. I also rely on them for overnights when the dogs can't travel with us. I trust them immensely and know that they truly truly love my dogs. read more

Modern Pet Rocks. Israel has been so kind and patient and gentle with my large, nervous and sometimes hard to handle pooch. It is easy to see that Israel has a true love and connection with his furry friends. read more

Kris has been walking our dog Django for almost 9 years, ever since she was a little puppy. He's always been dependable and flexible when we need an extra walk or have an unexpected change in plans. When I see them together, it's amazing how much she seems to look up to him and listen to him (even more than she listens to me)! Kris really seems to care about the dogs he walks, and he's become as much a part of Django's family as we are. I highly recommend Modern Pet. read more

My husband and I have worked with Israel & Kris since a couple weeks after we brought our 10 week old pup home! They both treated her like she was their own and helped us bring her up to be the fantastic 5 1/2 year old pooch she is today. They really do a great job. Professional, trust worthy and very accommodating, and we wouldn't work with anyone else! read more

These guys are great -- highly recommend them! Kris has been walking my dog for about the past 2 years. He has always been very responsive via email and text, and also very flexible with my late schedule changes. My dog loves him too :) read more

We've been using Kris and Israel for the last five and a half years and can honestly say they are the best! Recently, during one of the bad storms, we got water in our basement and had to have a clean-up crew come. We called Israel and he came and got our two dogs (both big) and took them to his house so that the crew could work and the dogs could stay calm. They have been a godsend to us! They are so reliable and all of our animals (we have two cats as well) love them to pieces. If you're looking for a two amazing people to care for your pets, Kris and Israel are the ones! read more

Our dog (who is now passed) loved Israel and Israel was so sweet to him. Would definitely recommend. Really good value and your dog will be cared for in trustworthy hands. read more

My wife and I had been regularly using Modern Pet's services for a little over a year, having them come in for mid-day dog walks 3-4 days a week. Recently, my wife and I had Kris and Israel pick up our dog and watch him overnight while we were out of town. We arranged for our dog to stay the night with Kris and Israel Friday and Saturday nights and be dropped back off on Sunday morning. On early Sunday morning, while 500 miles away, I received a text from our neighbor who lives above us asking if we were home because our dog had been consistently barking throughout Saturday night and sounded increasingly upset. When I finally made contact with Israel to talk about the situation, I was told Kris had brought our dog back to our house and crated him early Saturday evening. Had our neighbors been gone that weekend, I have no doubt we wouldn't have received any heads up from Kris or Israel. When I expressed my concern for their lack of communication and the fact our dog was dropped off to be left alone in the house without our consent, Israel he had no explanation why no one contacted us to report an issue or to report that they had dropped our dog back off at our house! Over the course of 2 different conversations about the issue, the story seemed to change from one conversation to another as to why they brought him back to begin with. To top it off, our dog was returned filthy and had a streak of white paint running down the side of his body. I wouldn't trust Modern Pet to watch my dog if I was there with them! Stay away!! read more

I've been using Modern Pet for almost 3 years now and they're simply great. I had used many other services before that were either terrible or just okay, but now that I've worked with Modern Pet I've never had to consider using anyone else. I've sometimes come home when they're returning from a walk or will run into their employees when I'm walking the dog myself in the neighborhood and you can tell that our dog loves the people that work for this company. The owners, Israel and Kris, are great to work with. They're very flexible when I need to make changes on the fly or add walks and even made a special trip to my brother-in-law's house to get familiar with his place when our dog stayed with him while my wife and I went out of town so they could walk him there. I can't recommend Modern Pet enough as a reliable and easy to work with dog walking service that takes very good care of our pet. read more

I feel I completely lucked out finding Kris & Israel shortly after we adopted our dog a year ago. She has energy to expend, and my and my husband's schedules can be unpredictable so she gets 2 walks per day for most of the year. Modern Pet has been flexible, so easy to work with, and very reliable. Our dog loves Talia and Israel, and as first time dog owners, it's been helpful to have advice and feedback from people who have experience with a lot of dogs and who regularly see her. She gets a lot out of the social time she has with the dogs who are paired with her too. Just know that walks typically happen within a 60-90 minute window depending on who else they are walking that day, and sometimes walks will go longer (which is great!). I love coming home to the notes that Talia or Nicole or Israel leave me about her day. Modern Pet has been critical to improving our dog's mild separation anxiety issues and has become part of her family! read more

not fans - were not responsive or reliable - perhaps it was an off day but their response to our text and phone calls were unacceptable. had to emergently from across the country find another reliable sitter. read more

My dogs are my universe, and have required special care due to health issues, etc over the years. I worked with a few different dog walkers before I was referred to Kris and Israel, but it's been 14 years that they have been caring for my dogs and thank goodness we have them! Literally not once have they not provided walks on time, sometimes several times in one day, vacation services, or responded as I would have expected. They are always willing to accommodate special requests, consistently provide love and care to my dogs, and have bailed me out with basically no notice on my part many times. I trust them with my precious babies and have never had a single bad experience with them. They were also extremely careful and loving to my rat terrier when she was sick with liver cancer last year (Miss Tommy loved them so much!). If you choose them to provide your dog walking/dog sitting services the laughs from the creative notes they leave every day speak to their above-and-beyond service. Strongly recommend them and will provide a reference anytime. read more
