I've been coming here periodically for about a year and have never been very thrilled but recently I've been downright frustrated. I got a full set of dip done last weekend and within the week, 3 of my nails had snapped in half. I then went back to get a set of acrylics on and within a day, 1 of them has already snapped. I am not really used to being pampered, getting my nails done and such, but my friend and I needed it. We went here on a whim, because we wanted to relax. The place was beautiful, the music relaxing, scenic pics on the HDTV. The ladies that work there were nice, they could not speak English, so it was hard to understand them, but they work hard, were gentle, and knew what they were doing. To be honest I would do no stars if possible. I took my younger sister there this last Thursday to get a full set done. The lady that did mine was the store manager, unsure of her name, and I received a great service. My sister on the other hand was rushed through her service and at the end, her nails were angled up towards the ceiling. Never ever have we gone to a place and had her nails look like that. My sister calls back to talk to them about her nails to see if they would mind fixing them, they said they would look at them if we drove out there from Sherwood the next day. We arrive there and immediately we walk through the door and all eyes are on us. The lady looks at us and says, "Who wants nails fixed?" With a straight face. They made us wait and then eventually called her to a station. There they sat there and completely embarrassed her in front of EVERYONE. Literally EVERYONE. They told her that it was her fault and that their nails grow like that. Sorry they don't grow like that. My sister called the manager today to speak with her about her problem. The manager refused to give a refund and just kept telling her to come back to the store. Then went on to cuss at my sister on the phone. Save yourself the trouble. Use to like this place but will never return here again. read more

Worst manicure I've ever had. The lady cut my skin 3 different times making me bleed and leaving scabs. I got French acrylics and they do not even cover my nail which looks stupid. My previous nude nail polish was not completely taken off so it looks like the sides of my nails are orange. Horrible job I will never recommend. read more

I gave this place a 3 because there were a few problems with the actual service. Mainly that the technician added something else to the polish, which made it not dry fully. It looked good when she was done, but I sat in the drier for over 15 minutes at which point the tech came over and told me I was done. I tried to explain to her that I could still see my finger print in the polish when I lightly pushed on it and that it felt tacky. She told me to just be careful and that I was done. I paid and left, but when I first turned the wheel I hit my pinky finger and smudged the paint. read more

The ladies here seem nice and willing to accommodate you, although it is a little hard to understand them when they ask you a question but you can figure it out if you pay attention, plus how hard it is to figure what you want done with your nails! Long story short, okay but not great. My friends and I went in for mani/pedi this evening. The staff were all very nice, making sure we were comfortable always comfortable. Leg/feet massage during the pedicure felt great and the massage chairs were okay. The polish job on my feet and my friend's hands was not great though. Seemed like they used old, gritty polish on my friend's finger nails and missed a couple of the sides of my toenails. Pricing was not terrible, but don't think I will be back. My daughter converted me to shellac and first time I tried it was at Moda upon her recommendation. My manicure lasted for 3 wks! Typically I have fast growing cuticles and it is a miracle if I can keep my manicure for 4-5 days. My experience at Moda blew me off.. I tried to get in right before new years and they were booked up. So I ended up going to a place close to my house and my shellac just peeled off within a week. I went back to Moda again and so far so good!! I don't mind driving to Beaverton all the way from NW Portland just to get my nails done at Moda.. Well worth it. Nice little *Expensive* nail salon that my daughter and I got into pretty quickly. The salon looks cheery and clean, and the girls are friendly. Lots of color selections and the workmanship was great. We got shellack manicures. I just wish the gals wouldn't file down the sides of the nails. I tried saying no to that but had to continue reminding not to do that. I hate pointy narrow nails not to mention it makes them weaker as they lose integrity from the sides. Salon owner is too cheap to hire a receptionist. She's also a nail tech as well as receptionist who keeps the phone crooked in her shoulder/ear answering calls the entire time she works on her client. read more

My friend took me here while I was visiting and my usual nail place was closed. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and calming the place was. Got a beautiful shellac manicure for $25. The only up charge was I didn't have my own nail file and buffer ($2 more), but if I can get a great shellac mani under $30 I'm pretty happy. read more

I have finally found a nail salon I am comfortable in. I have been going here regularly and find they not only give one of the best mani/pedi's in town but are friendly and welcoming. The owner remembered me when I came in after not having been there for a while. I find all the staff to be equally good, which has not been my experience at other nail salons, where it could be hit or miss depending on who was your manicurist. Unfortunately, my daughters polish peeled off her toes 2 hours after they were painted My toe polish wasn't applied to cover the entire nail and I still see the previous nail polish. NEVER let the younger male tech do your nails. I came in for an appointment with my mom for a shellac manicure, I started about 10 mins before her and finished 10 mins after her because my tech was extremely slow. During my entire manicure, the two female techs (one on each side of him) kept watching what he was doing and scolding him for forgetting to do things like buff my nails. My mom asked her nail tech if he was in training and she laughed and said no. At the end of my manicure, a third nail tech walked by, grabbed my hands and started pointing and laughing at the manicure. My nail tech quickly grabbed my hand back and covered my nails. In the car ride home I noticed just how bad my manicure was. 1. The filing and shaping was horrendous. My nails were rigid and uneven, many of them had a clear diagonal slope to them at the top. 2. My nails were SO short, shorter than I had ever had them before 3. I had gold and pink nail polish, which required multiple coats. I specifically asked him to put several layers on but the color was still transparent and I could see my nails underneath. I was extremely disappointed in my nails and ended up turning around and having the manager paint another coat on and refill them. I was most disappointed at the fact that it seemed as if all the employees knew my nail tech did less than acceptable work but treated it as a joke. I would expect a business to hold their employees to a certain standard, and if an employee falls short of that standard to reevaluate the situation instead of watching it happen or sitting there and laughing. read more
