This place is unlike any other pizza joint I have ever been to. I would honestly eat here every day if I could. The style of the pizza is flatbread style, but it is the perfect medium for the ENDLESS amount of toppings. For the record, there are basically three sizes of pizza - small, medium, and large. Medium is basically a meal for one person, small is a lunch-size if you will. Large can be split among multiple people. From that point on you can pick any, and I mean any amount of toppings and sauces. The oven is I believe a wood-fired slate oven that makes the pizza deliciously crispy and burnt around the edges. If you are basic in your items, you can make one that is similar to the classic styles found in New York City. I cannot help but love this place. The staff are friendly and courteous. As per their usual, they will yell/chant out "Welcome to MOD." Reminds me of the Southwest Moe's I spent so many times in college and grad school. I haven't tried the salads yet, but if they have the same style and system as their pizzas, I am sold. I hope they are here to stick around. Well I guess if you want to eat pizza while the staff braids each other's hair and combs it out next to your table, it was disgusting and inappropriate! The music was blasting so loudly you couldn't talk and the paper they used to place pizza on soaked into the pizza so you eat most of it too! Ugh! Not good for a new restaurant opening! read more

Very unique method to pizza. Definitely enjoy the options and being able to have my own specialized pizza vs my daughter or husband. Will likely be back. I also enjoyed how the crust was true to those pizzas in Italy instead of the Americanized version we have become accustomed to. Love the atmosphere. Love the many options for customization. Never heard of MOD before, but was looking for something I hadn't had before while visiting York recently. Parking lot was pretty full so I had to park in the hotel lot behind the building, but not a big deal. Most of those cars I'm guessing were from IHOP that share the lot. Ordering is simple, choose the size pizza, choose one of their combos, or add as much/as little toppings as you want for a custom pizza. Pizza is very thin, I believe they have a double crust as well but I didn't try that. They have a bunch of different toppings, i.e. sausage, pepperoni, ground beef, bacon, Canadian bacon (& more I'm forgetting), several cheeses as well as a bunch of different vegetables for you to choose from. I got the mini Mad Dog + onions, peppers & garlic, which was just right for me. They also sell salads & a few dough based desserts, as well as 3 flavors of milkshakes & fountain drinks (Coke products, $1.97) & a few bottled options. They're also BYOB friendly. Restaurant was clean clean & bright, food wait time was only maybe 5 minutes. read more

Love the concept! Have been 2x, 1st time was amazing! It was not crowded at the time so maybe that's why the maker took extra time to get everything right. Soooo good :) the 2nd time was on a weekend, still good but much more skimpy on the topping. Hardly put any cheese on and had to ask if they could add extra, she added like a pinch more. I will still go back because I love the crust and I think it's a cool place. read more

Did a search for highest rated pizza in York. MOD came up as #1. Never heard of MOD. Gave it a try. My son, wife and I all thought the pizza was excellent. The thin crust was quite different from most local pizza. We loved it and will be back. read more

Went to Mod pizza today for the second time. FANTASTIC! I love the freshness of the ingredients and the speedy service. Being from Chicago, I am generally not a thin crust fan but Mod's was very tasty. I love being able to add my own ingredients, as many as I want. The first time I took the family and they loved the pizza while I loved the price. The second time I went for lunch and the service was fast and friendly and the food just as good. We were in the area looking at a new house and decided to stop in here for a quick bite to eat. All five of us loved our pizzas. Prices were cheap(we felt), yet the pizza quality and staff were just fantastic! Definitely will stop in here again! Amazing pizza! Pick only toppings you want, as many as you want same price! 3 of us got pizza made the way we like it and the pizza here is unlike anything any other restaurant has in a good way. I usually don't like thin crusts I prefer hand tossed but this crust is great. If you don't like the taste of this pizza then you picked the wrong toppings. Only complaint, from the other two in my party not me is that the music is very loud. They asked to have it turned down and it did not get turned down. I can tune out lousy music easy so it did not bother me. But it did make it hard to talk to each other. read more

We are pleasantly surprised at the tasty pizza that Mod Pizza made for us! They have some classic pies or they will make a custom pie to your wishes. The price of a 10-11" pizza is about $8.00, give or take a few cents. If you are a first-timer, I suggest getting one of the classic pies and as you go down the ingredient line, ask for additional toppings (no charge).
