Once seated we ordered a pitcher of Narragansett Pilsner and a small Caesar Salad (housemade dressing, lemon garlic breadcrumb, pecorino). The pils was excellent and wanted to order a little extra beer since it was the weekend. The Caesar was excellent and the portion was plenty of food for two people. For pizza we ordered a pizza with half sausage and half pepperoni. The pizza was huge and we definitely had to take 3/4s of it to go. The pizza itself was good and was a little heavier than I was expecting. If you are in the person street area and looking for pizza, I definitely would check out the Oakwood Pizza box.

Both drinks were excellent and were nice and smooth. For our entree we split the Chicken Parmigiana with spaghetti. We also ordered a side of spaghetti and it was the perfect amount of food for two people. The chicken parm was seasoned perfectly and may be one of the best I've ever tried. So there I was on Valentine's Day with my whole plan figured out. I was going to order my girlfriend, who is not super big into jewelry (how sweet is that?), or Valentine's Day for that matter, a pizza. Sounds simple, right? Well, it would have been simple if we were not hundreds of miles apart due to our temporary work situations. No big deal, I went online to MOD's website to place an order. Only problem is, the online orders were not working. Uh oh. So I got a little nervous but calmly fill out the Contact Us section of the website (which thankfully did work) explaining my situation. I described how I would be willing to pay for a gift card if online ordering did not work. I just knew I wanted my girl to have some good pizza. I really did not know whether I would get a response and if I am being honest with myself, did not really expect one. Then, everything changed. Rather than getting some generic email, I got a phone call that changed my life. Okay, maybe not life-changing, but it DEFINITELY changed my Valentine's Day. Scott at MOD Pizza called me personally and made sure that my girlfriend would get her pizza. I don't know who this guy is, but the world could use more people like him. He was super responsive when I changed the pickup time at the last minute AND when I added more toppings to the order as well. I wish I could give this location six stars because the team took care of my order so well. And yes, the slight snag in this whole plan is that my girlfriend still had to pick up the pizza in person so it was not a total surprise, but everything worked out better than I could have imagined thanks to MOD. read more

As someone who enjoys trying lots of new and different variations of pizza, I am a big fan of MOD. The prices are reasonable given that you have an option of unlimited toppings. They have a wide variety of "classic" topping options as well as more adventurous choices like rosemary, roasted asparagus, and arugula. They also have lots of salad options as well. On my most recent visit, the restaurant was extremely busy, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. One employee in particular, Matthew, was very helpful. I had a question regarding an allergy and he was willing to answer my questions in a pleasant and knowledgeable manner. I will definitely be returning to try new pizza combinations. read more

I had heard of MOD Pizza thru my brother and decided to research it before going there. They are located in many states but only 1 in NC, so far. There is another slated for Wake Forest, which is much closer to us. I read many of the reviews and there seemed to be mixed feelings. I was hoping things had improved so my sister and I visited the Raleigh location on Monday. I was very impressed with the staff! The young lady who took care of us was pleasant and friendly. We only ordered the salad but we got a variety of toppings and in a timely manner. I agree on the drink machine. I would like to see more of a selection. I would like to give you guys a thumbs up. I love the atmosphere and energy of the place. I really enjoy selecting my toppings to make the pizza exactly how I like it. Your staff is friendly and engaging . The fact that you encourage the staff to dress in clothes that are fun only adds to the energy of the place. Very cool concept. Nice speed of service. This is a new restaurant that serves pizza. My most recent visit was unsatisfactory. You guys had run out of chicken and bacon for an order I placed. You also ran out of boxes!? Come on guys. Never have I ever heard of a pizza place running out of those two items. Especially after two months of being open. When I asked what happened, the older lady who gave me my food said that the store manager wants to bonus off of cost of goods. I come here often and know some employees by face. This was the best pizza place I've been to! The employees made me feel welcome as soon as I waked through the door. The service was above and beyond what I had expected. The prices were great, so much better than what typical pizza places charge for their food. I was very pleased with the service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone I know. I wish I knew about this place sooner! I'm not from Raleigh, but it would be great if this place was in my area. My squad and I went to Mod Pizza after a very long and hard physical fitness test. We are in the Marine Corps officer program. After placing our order and going to the register to pay the general manager (Scott Steele) informed us our pizza was free. We felt very appreciated and needed the morale boost. The pizza and service is unbeatable. America needs more establishments like this one. We had never been there before but the staff was very helpful. Fantastic options. You can create any type of pizza or salad that you want! Amazing lightweight crispy crust in a regular 11" or a mini size which is perfect for kids or a light meal. They also have wine as well as a couple beer choices too which always pair well with a hot pizza. You can even pick up a "No name cake" by the register, it's basically a better version of an oreo. I wish they created a sweet cinnamon version of the garlic strips it would be a perfect late night snack! Overall way better than your local pizza parlor. read more

This food establishment is very nice in atmosphere, and the food is excellent. The employee's were friendly and were helpful. I enjoy the fun and different hats they all wear, and the music is ok. The lemonade that is made is pleasant to the taste. The Deversity of staff and food choices, is very nice and a good change of pace. I love mod pizza.... there is a African American female with beautiful green eyes that makes my pizza sometimes she totally rocks. She loads my pizza up just like I requested and she is so sweet.... if you have never been to mod pizza you should definitely go but be prepared sometimes they have a line but they work hard to get you through as fast as possible, and they don't charge for toppings. read more

It came with only one of the two things I ordered. (4) I called to report the missing item and to get it delivered or pick it up. Blaze took me through a roundabout process for reporting. I just clicked any number to get help and asked the AI for "Representative". The live person came on the phone and greeted me, put me on hold for a long time, came back and said there was nothing she could do because she couldn't reach anyone from the restaurant! I'm done with this restaurant. The pizza is good, but the service is not worth it. I don't even want my money back. I feel like a fool for even ordering from there after point number (1) above. I'm erasing this pizza place from my restaurant list.

UPDATE: After my initial review, the owner contacted me to apologize and take full responsibility for my experience and offered the opportunity to be able to correct the issue. I called and the young lady I spoke with was extremely kind over the phone and in person. At my arrival she greeted me with a smile and showed me my pizza apologizing again for my previous experience. When she opened the box I said yes this is what it is supposed to look like. Rosati's is now on our places for pizza list, not just because of the pizza but the integrity that was shown after my initial experience. When in the area check this place out.

I get it--beef prices are high--but at some point the ratio gets a little absurd. I'm not asking you to import rolls from Del Co. or pretend this is South Philly, but you can do better. I've lived up and down the East Coast, including Philly and the DC area. In the DC area even a basic steak and cheese usually comes with a solid portion of meat, white American cheese, fried onions, and a roll that actually holds up. What I got here was very little meat, melted cheese, a lot of mayo, no fried onions, and a roll that feels like it came straight out of a Food Lion bag. Raise the price a bit and fix the ratios--this sub needs an overhaul. Now, the cheese pizza is a different story. This is classic Greek-style pizza (Google it if that term is new to you), and it's actually pretty good. Definitely a step up from most national chains. I loved the garlic-forward cheesiness and the pillowy soft crust. The sauce is subtle--I had to double-check that it was even there--but honestly, that works for me. I like cheese, I like garlic, and this delivered. The pizza is also cheap, which makes total sense given the location near NC State. This feels like the kind of pizza you'd get at a school pizza party, or that ever-so-special work pizza party that shows up instead of a raise or bonus. And I mean that in the best possible way. It's basic, no-frills, filling, and worth your time if that's what you're looking for. Final verdict: The pizza is solid, affordable, and does exactly what it's supposed to do. The steak and cheese... not so much. Fix the meat-to-bread ratio and this place could be a lot better overall.

It appeared (see photo) they either dropped the pizza or took a bite out of it. When I ordered the Sicilian pizza, I thought it was going to be the traditional thick, deep crust, two inch plus pizza. I was perplexed and very disappointed to see it was nothing more than a traditional round pie with a taste that was overpowering with salt, the cheese was stale, there was no sauce, and very little meat. I feel it was deceptive to advertise and serve a Sicilian pizza masked as a round traditional pie that I can have ordered from Dominoes much cheaper. I was disappointed when walking in and having to wait as long as I did while observing the staff spend more time on their cell phones and gossiping with one another. I would think the least they should do is pull the Sicilian pizza from the menu until such time you can actually make one like Vera Pizza & Grill, Café Vesuvio in Sanford, SoPies in Southern Pines, Brooklynn Pizza, etc. I sent an email and tried calling Rudino's to discuss but they refuse to reply back.

The pepperoni taste great, the sauce was just enough and the crust is slightly sweet and perfect. Medium was 8 pieces and it was just right. Side note - the parking lot is terrible, as any WF person knows. Not enough parking, too tight spaces and a really poorly executed in/out but that's not Marco's fault. Definitely ordering again!
