I'm back on a Sunday but this time with my kiddos. MOD stepped up their game for kids since the last time I brought them in. I was pleasantly surprised that it was kids eat free Sunday (for the month of January). Discovered this when I arrived and pulled out my app. DOWNLOAD the app... I often have free pizzas and other rewards or good info sitting in the app. I was most impressed that they now have crayons and coloring page... if they did before no one else offered it - kids my 3 & 4 yr old entertained so big win in my books. Kiddos to the person making my pizza. I spelled my name for her and she asked if I had a capital D in it.,. I'm sooo glad Mod opened up a spot on Egypt aka Maricopa. My bestie moved here and it's a small town but is slowly getting all the good spots. I'm so glad we can finally get good pizza. I was so tired of Dominos I love getting personal pizzas because then my friend and I don't have to figure out what toppings we gotta share. I get sausage, mushroom, olives, pepperoni and pesto drizzle. The first few times they forgot my pesto but they've gotten better. The pizza is perfectly cooked and tastes great. Everything is customizable, and they have a lot of different options for various diet requirements, including cauliflower crust, vegetarian, gluten free, and Keto friendly options. Good variety of pizza sizes, and the toppings menu is definitely exceptional. The dough, which is the main component, is actually pretty good. Normally I skip the crust, but I don't with these guys. Ordered a customized Dominic for me, which was great. The husband made his own, and the little one got a small pepperoni & cheese. The staff is very friendly, and they quickly offer to fix any errors made. The service was also pretty quick considering how busy they are. I am happy to have MOD in town. We do not have a lot of great pizza options. You can choose your pizza round size and they have a kids' size too.They have healthier dough options such as cauliflower and gluten-free. The sauce and topping options are numerous. I love the fresh basil and roasted garlic. You can also choose a finishing drizzle like balsamic vinegar, pesto, ranch and a few others. The toppings have no favor. The first and third pizza I order was custom. The second was one of their own designs. I always order the custom salad, family size. It's huge and very healthy! They let you put whatever you want on it, and it's always soo delicious. I do mobile orders then just pick it up in store. Last night I tried their cheesy garlic bread sticks! It was good. I will definitely be coming back more. I tried the Calexico pizza before and that was good too. I love how everything is fresh. Atmosphere - Cafeteria style build your pizza.  Vibrate colors make the place pop. The dining area was divide creating two areas, almost two rooms. Food - MOD pizza for the crust which is a 11 inch pizza.  I went with the MAD DOG because it is a meat lovers pizza.  Really only three meats on it: pepperoni, mild sausage, ground beef.  What kind of meat pizza only has three meats?  I added salami tonight as additional topping, no extra charge.   I added it during the build process as after we were done ordering we were told they were out of pepperoni.  My pizza was burnt on one side and the other side perfect.  The center was under cooked.  The cutting of the pizza was horrible, a 8 slice pizza is one of the most basic for a cutter to manage.  I had slices that were twice the size of others. Service - As I am writing this review I wonder if 2 stars is generous.  How do you run out of of pepperoni.  This was only brought up after we were done ordering.  This is a very popular topping and a sign should be up indicating the shortage.  Your sign states you have 30+ toppings, but there is no list of these toppings are visible.  So make a recommendation when you communicate that you are out of something.  I tried to order the plant based sausage and I was told it was already on the pizza.  It was not, my wife had it on her pizza and could clearly see the difference, and taste the difference.  I think salami is a great replacement, as I asked for it as they were making my pizza.  My wife ordered a build your own.  They started with the sauce, logical.  They left a spot on the pizza the size of my fist.  The ladle is designed to hold sauce and apply it, and based on the pizza size the pizza receives X number scoops of sauce.  So how did you miss count, and not notice.  My wife asked for more sauce when the employee asked which cheese she would like.  Then how do you know what cheese are available?  You can see there is different shredded cheeses but they are not labeled, nothing on the line is labeled for the customer to read.  We are not fluent in MOD cheese selections.  We ordered two pizzas, mine was in the oven before my wife's pizza was being topped.  Her pizza cooks faster as it was cauliflower.  But they need to hold them at topping area until all pizzas are completed so they can go to the cook and can exit the oven at similar times.  It is a real pizza oven, and a very large one at that.  No conveyor belt style oven like other chains.  So the person needs to have some serious skills with that oven.  The crust of my pizza had three different cooked zones, from under cooked to burnt.  The guy cutting pizza is also the one calling the names out for you to pick them out.  He did not plan well as I had to be called up twice. Future - Maybe in a year as they need to get their act together.  I thought I had already given them enough time from the opening of the location. read more

Their pizzas and salads are amazing but a little pricey. The service there can improve a little more. And the restaurant cleanliness can improve most of the time I go there is still crumbs all over the tables and they are just sticky as well read more

Finally a Mod Pizza in Maricopa! I love every Mod pizza I've been to starting with the restaurant in Napa, California. My go to is The Mad Dog with added ingredients and 50% extra everything including the cheese and sauce. It usually turns out perfect every time. Of course I ordered the same thing at this location. The staff operated like a well oiled machine from the time you walk in to the time they deliver your pizza. The only thing I noticed was they didn't confirm to me if it was the correct pizza by opening the box and showing it to me before handing it over. That is the practice in every California location. But it was the correct pizza. The pizza was good, but a little undercooked. It gave the appearance of being cooked, but the dough was a bit doughy, which surprised me because it's so thin. But I will definitely be back because I know they just opened and the hired help may be a bit inexperienced. Until next time! read more

This place just opened up. We went the second week after opening. Upon first entering there's a poster with a few choices of the menu. What I felt was lacking on it was a list of all the toppings available and a how to in order to get you started. If your a first timer you might be a little confused. Luckily we've been to Fired Pie several times so knew the concept but still would of liked knowing what they had available before hitting the counter which is only steps away from the sign. We get to the counter to order where the girl just expects us to know what we're doing. Would of been nice of her to explain it all especially not knowing if we've ever been there before. She just starts off by saying what type of sauce.... That's it, not even telling us what they had available. I had to try to look over the counter to see what was available because when I asked her what was available she rattled them off so fast I could barely understand her. Choice of toppings was good as I don't usually like too many toppings on my pizza. ( I'm actually not really much of a pizza fan anyway). The taste was not bad but I think I like Fired Pie better. I really love this location. I have been for both dine in and carry out several times since they have opened. The customer service and food quality has been wonderful each time. The restaurant is clean and has a good vibe. I had an extra great experience today thanks to Laura. She overheard it was my birthday and she was thoughtful and made it extra special! We visit Mod on a weekly basis. Love the pizza and their salads are also excellent. The fact that you can modify all of your options makes this place one of my fav spots in Copa. The staff and management are always friendly and accommodating which is also a huge reason we keep coming back. I've never seen any issues with cleanliness or sloppy care. We've been to MOD over a handful of times and it was always great however it's been quite a while and tonight was such a disappointment! So much so that my family and I don't ever want to go back. First off they got rid of ricotta so I wasn't able to put together my favorite pizza. That was the whole reason I went to MOD in the first place. Second, they didn't put everything on the pizza we requested (mobile order) and they added items onto my specific pizza that was never requested which quite honestly was a weird combination and did not go together. Mozzarella and Asiago were both requested on my kids pizza (which we've always gotten before) no mozzarella was added, just Asiago resulting in pizza that literally smelled of vomit. I pray the cheese wasn't bad and my kids don't get sick. Only time will tell. Had one small slice and refused to eat the large pizza we paid for, which I don't blame them! Wasn't worth the drive back. Decided to suck it up, but would have preferred to go literally anywhere else. read more

I was NOT going to leave a negative review but after speaking with the manager (Cody I believe) I decided to. I just left Mod and they were busy but no busier than the last few times I've been... The family in front of me ordered 3 pizzas and I heard her order so when one came out with jalapeños I was surprised. Sure enough she walked back over and said this wasn't hers (hers was a daily free cheese with one side pepperoni for her small children). The women proceeded to question her and tell her she was wrong (rudely may i add) I was standing right there when she ordered so I knew it wasn't wrong too. The lady was very nice but kept saying I'm sure this isn't my pizza. Finally the worker found a pizza and said is it this one and the lady said looks like it and took it and went and sat down. I then walked up and asked for a side of ranch to which she said nothing rolled her eyes and grabbed sauce cups to pour some ranch in. There wasn't enough ranch there was only enough to cover the very bottom of the cup so she put the lid on shook it (I assume to make it look full but I was standing there and could literally see what happened) and handed it to me to which I was astonished said thanks and walked out. I decided to let the manager know so they could speak to her... the manager came off rude and I ended up apologizing (literally I felt like I did something wrong by calling) he then said "thanks for the feedback" and hung up while I was still talking. The other employees were very friendly including the women who rang me up (she was great). My pizzas are fine (I did double check after the women in front of me had her issue). Like I said I wasn't going to leave a review but maybe someone higher will see this and it won't happen again to someone else. 4 stars for the pizza and most of the staff -1 star for the manager and other employee spoken about. read more

Pizza loving family so we thought we'd give it a try. Waited a little bit to be asked what we wanted, the girl just looked up at me and said Yes? As she's grabbing pre made dough. I said, hi, how are you?! She nodded.. didn't say anything. Assumed we had been before. So I, Proceeded to give first pizza order, then the next and a salad. She really couldn't be bothered. Customer service for me is #1, right there with that interaction I'll never go back! Then we waited 10 minutes to pay or even be acknowledge at the register. I think the owner should train their teenagers to look up and smile!!! Pizza was alright. This was my very first time experiencing a MOD pizza location! The menu is short sweet and to the point! I loved the fact that I was able to create my very own pizzas (I created 2). They were out of some of the toppings, when I went there, but overall I enjoyed the pizzas, and they were very tasty! The employees were really nice too! Just missing a garlic butter sauce at the end! And crust edge seasonings, because there is a lot of crust left over, after it's cooked! read more

I don't know what the hype is about! I came here on Pi day (no specials) ordered online for takeout and by the time I got here pizza was ready, super fast! Not super delicious though. Just ugh! I was surprised to see the pizza was just sitting in a shelf area with no heat lamps to keep it warm. It wasn't very warm, cheese wasn't melty, crust was a nice thin-ness. Overall it was just umph.
