Finally tried MOD Pizza late in the afternoon on a rainy day. In case it is not clear from previous reviews, the concept is that you can load as many toppings as you like at a fixed price. There are three sizes, an 11", a smaller "mini" and a larger "double crust." There are also salads to which you can add whatever "toppings" you like as well. They also have some set pizza combinations for patrons who don't want to reinvent the pizza wheel. You pass through a line, kind of like at a Subway sandwich shop, where they will build your pizza as you tell them which toppings to add. There is no table service, you get your food at the counter, and you bus your table when leaving (for the previous reviewer who was confused, there is a station for plates and trash right by the door with signs). Their website has an online ordering feature, so you can order at home and tell them what time it should be ready and waiting for your arrival. They have a handful of wine and beer choices, plus milkshakes, floats, and a fountain with sodas and house made ice tea and lemonades. Beer is served in a plastic cup (and can run up the check at $5 each). The $12 pitchers are a better deal. The pizza game here is strong. The crust is very thin with a nice char. The toppings are fresh and high quality. Bright flavors. The 11 inch will take care of a hungry appetite. We had friendly service and a completely reasonable waiting time. The decor is modern, comfortable and attractive, and MOD is very clean. Manager Cortney (who rang up our order) deserves credit for an obviously well-run operation. I have trouble understanding Rachel P."s critique: " I am being a bit hard on them for increasing my pizza options." MOD operates within a different niche than any of the nearby pizza possibilities. Much higher quality pies than Little Caesar's, Papa John's, Papa Murphy's, Frankies, & Domino's, but without the table service and full bar you'll find at Farelli's and Gino's. And MOD's crust is unlike any other in town. If you are a fan of thinner crusts with that characteristic wood-fired oven char, you'll be a fan of MOD. My only quibble is that I wish there was a better selection of beer and wine, and that it was served in proper glasses. I am very glad to have this new pizza option in town, and I know I'll be back for the good and affordable pizza they are serving. read more

I have to change my review. I've always liked the PIZZA, but previously service was hit and miss. Corporate brought the hammer down - there was a district or regional or something or other manager in there one night. After apologizing, explaining that he was dealing with some problems and giving us free pizza :-D, we've experienced nothing but close to awesomeness - is that even a word?! Pizza is mostly ready at the time we order. If it isn't, they're super nice and make things right. Came in last for dinner with the kids. I believe this location opened a few days ago and it was packed! The service was great, the crew was very cheerful and upbeat and willing to help. Got to meet the manager Courtney and she was very cheerful and helpful, ensuring that we were doing ok. There was a lady, Carmen I believe, who was making sure the tables were clean and drink/utensil area were stocked up...this lady NEVER stopped moving she was so busy! The pizza was delicious! It can be difficult to find great options for vegetarian pizza but this place had a lot of great vegetarian options. My boys loved their meat-topped pizzas and even wanted seconds. You can't beat the price! Overall we had a great meal and the atmosphere was a cheerful one..we'll definitely be back! read more

This is my first MOD pizza. I was told by a friend to check it out a few days ago at the maple valley location. I like the pizza very much! I also like the manager who went out of his way to check if the service and pizza were fine with me and others in the store. I like excellent service when dining out. Experienced my first pizza at MOD pizza today! This restaurant has been on my list for awhile now. I'm definitely glad I went! MOD is like subway, but for pizza. Before going here, I took a look at their menu online. I decided that I would just create my own pizza. My pizza creation consisted of red sauce, mozzarella and Asiago cheese, salami, spicy Italian sausage, basil, roasted bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, red onions, garlic, and pesto. I also had a side of ranch. It was pretty good! My boyfriend had the Caspian pizza and let's just say that mine was better than his. I'm not much of a fan of BBQ sauce unless it's on BBQ. There was too much BBQ sauce on his! He said he had it before at the Sammamish location and he liked it better than the one he had today. Even though I didn't like his pizza that much I'd still come here in the future and probably order one of their other top 10 pizzas. *If you're not into thin crust then I suggest you try a different pizza joint. read more

Heard rave reviews about MOD pizza but never lived near one to be able to try it. The wait was worth it. LOVE that every pizza is $7.47 no matter what you put on it. Every pizza is personalized ( kind of like the Subway of pizza! ) Its thin crust, wood fired and YUMMY! There are 5 sauces to choose from, 5 cheeses to choose from, dressings, veggies, 9 meats and more! There's even a mini pizza for the kids. There are also salads, including a salad served on pizza crust. Drinks include pop, milkshakes, floats and beer ( including pitchers ). This place has been open for less than a week so we expected a long wait, but the line moved quickly, every staff member we encountered was super friendly, it was clean, and we loved the garage door style walls that opened out to the sidewalk where there is outdoor seating with propane heaters. Went here for the very first time a few weeks ago and I already want to go back again. I'd never been to a MOD pizza before and the employees were great at explaining how everything works and making suggestions. We were with a big group and they had no trouble keeping track of all of our orders and getting them out to us quickly. I had a pizza with white sauce, mozarella, chicken, artichokes, kalamata olives and feta cheese. My kids got their plain cheese pizzas and I didn't have to compromise on what I got. Loved it. The service was friendly they asked us upon arrival if it was our first time then explained to us how the menu works. All of the vegetables and fruits looked and tasted fresh and ripe. It was clean and very fair priced. It was like seven and a half bucks for the pizza with unlimited toppings the salad pizzas are huge and just overall friendly experience. I liked it. If Gluten Free - READ this please. If you are GF for celiac, etc - the GF options here WILL NOT be OK. If you can tolerate some gluten, it may be OK. The staff is VERY nice and helpful and patient! (we'd never been to Mod Pizza and didn't know how it works. It's sort of like Chipolte - but for pizza - you get to pick what you want on your pizza - no limit to the toppings*.) We chose to go here as my daughter-in-law has to eat GF or becomes very ill. They have 3 pizza sizes (small, med., and large). GF comes in one size only (the large?) so that's a bummer. The staff making pizza have on gloves and change them when doing the GF pizza; this is great! The problem is when they back it - it goes right into the pizza oven on the bricks inside - NO screen or anything between your pizza and the oven bottom. If you are very sensitive re:being GF, you cannot have this exposure. They do make the pizza on a screen, and we asked if they could just put the pizza for her on the screen into the oven. They checked - and "no" - *Topping choices were huge: meats, a number of types of cheese, fresh basil, veggies, pineapple, etc. Thin crust pizza - They also offer salads - that you can "build" yourself (No GF dressing.) If I lived locally and not dining w/a GF person, I would come here again. read more

I find their pizza to be an interesting twist and superior to most quick serve places. I didn't care for the spicy sausage (greasy tasting) or the feta (bland bits of rubber with no tang at all), however the salami was delicious and the mozz stretches as it should. It seems some experimentation is needed to find combos that work well together. I wish their crust was slightly thicker-while the char on the edges is great, the dough is too thin to have any real texture beyond crispiness; it's like eating pizza on a toasted wafer. All in all, it was an above average experience with helpful employees, but please turn the music down-it's distractingly loud and people almost have to yell to be heard over it. read more
