I visited Mod Pizza about two weeks ago with my family, and it was genuinely the worst service experience I've ever had. i would rate a 0 if i could . While we were ordering, my mom kindly complimented the employee making my pizza. The employee completely ignored her. A few minutes later, she repeated what my mother said in a sarcastic, mocking tone, which made it feel like she was making fun of my mom for simply trying to be friendly. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary. The situation got worse at the cooking station. I have hearing problems and she called an order i thigh it was mine and got up , and instead of handling it calmly, the employee responded in a sharp and dismissive way. It put me in an awkward and uncomfortable position in front of other customers. A simple, polite clarification that this is someone else's pizza would have been enough, but the way it was handled felt unnecessarily disrespectful. I wasn't trying to be difficult. I genuinely could not hear her clearly. Instead of simply repeating herself or speaking up, she made me feel like I had done something wrong for misunderstanding. I'm glad this specific Mod Pizza isn't in my area, so I don't have to deal with employees like that. The Mod Pizza I usually go to has great staff who are always friendly, positive, and welcoming. It's clear we were treated poorly here not because of anything we did, but simply because of how the employees chose to act . ( it makes me feel like it's racial discrimination because we were speaking Spanish when we first came in. There was no reason for us to be treated the way we were by the two women helping us ) By the time we left, I felt disrespected, embarrassed, and unwelcome. I've never experienced service this rude at any restaurant, let alone at Mod Pizza. It completely ruined what should have been a simple family meal. read more

The service was fine. I could have put more on my side salad, but it was plenty big for me! The loaded mega pizza was enough for two. Crust was crunchy crispy, the way I like it. Nothing super duper, but still decent. Next time I'll ask for more tomato base. read more

You have only thing crust options, they don't have any other options, but you can do unlimited toppings, well they say unlimited they also claim it won't cook correctly and will cut you off if you ask for one of everything. They advertise cauliflower crust, but they didn't have it and online it won't let you order that, so it seems like this location doesn't carry it. They are pretty friendly and on week days during dinner the location is pretty quiet. read more

Austin and Ian took care of my concern and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy and they took a minute to explain the items I wanted in detail. I will be back to this location. 9/19/23 8:35pm Walk in, nobody is line. I stood there "looking at the menu", and finally one girl says "I'll be right with you. She has an order of 4 pizzas, so I let her do her thing. I continue to stand there for almost 10 more minutes and the same girl making the pizzas is like "hellooooo", to the other two girls chit chatting which replied, "I'm on break". Who doesn't enjoy customizing their pizzas and with unlimited toppings and no limit of how much of a specific topping. On our last trip, we went with a cauliflower crust vegetarian and a gluten free vegetarian. As u can tell by the photos, the toppings were stacked and to our satisfaction. The pizzas were absolutely delish. They also have a menu with specific types of pizza which one can order, but I like to customize my pizza. The service was great. Employees were friendly. I have noticed that at MOD Pizza, it's normally very cold inside and now it makes sense for that hot oven is blazing and they have to keep the place cool. I can understand a lot of the love for this MOD location. Having the option for online ordering with curbside pickup is so convenient, and the service is great. I'm not typically a fan of thinner crusts, so I ordered an 11" mega crust, which is their largest size and thickest crust. It's a bit more sturdy than a NY style crust. While it's not the best I've had, it's definitely tasty. I got regular sauce, mozzarella, olives, half pepperoni, garlic, and basil. The only thing they missed was the basil on top (assuming they use fresh basil). Not sure if it was an ingredient shortage, or if it isn't offered at this location. It only cost about $11 and fed two people, so I would get it again to satisfy a pizza craving. I didn't love the regular sauce flavor profile though, so I'd try a different sauce next time. read more

I've always appreciated businesses that say they care about the community--but today, MOD Pizza on Bunker Hill really let us down. For the past two years, my students have been folding pizza boxes for this location, free of charge. They took pride in their work, learned the value of cleanliness and responsibility, and felt a real sense of purpose and connection. Every week, they looked forward to picking up and returning boxes. It meant everything to them. But today, all of that came to a sudden end. Without a real explanation, the manager--Mike--terminated this opportunity, claiming our small contribution of one ream of boxes per week was throwing off his inventory. It was hard to make sense of that excuse. What was harder was standing next to one of my students and having to tell him we were no longer welcome. MOD claims to stand for community and inclusion, but that clearly doesn't extend to everyone. It's heartbreaking to see our students--who worked so hard and asked for nothing in return--pushed aside by a new manager who doesn't seem to value what they brought to the table. I've been craving pizza all week and am so glad I came here with my husband. We were both starving after work, and luckily for us, there was no wait and the process was quick and efficient. I ordered a MOD sized pizza and got 3 toppings. I love that you can get as many options as you want for no additional cost, and there are so many things to choose from. I'm also really glad they have pineapple (Yes, I'm one of those. Leave me alone ). We got our pizzas in about 10 minutes, and the gentleman with the DJ mask (I'm assuming that's his name) was so friendly and excellent with quality control to make sure the pizzas are all done correctly. Food was everything you'd expect. Good if you make it well. But the low marks of this review is driven by how absolutely filthy the restaurant is. "Pig sty" is the appropriate term that best encapsulates how the space looks. I understand this isn't some fancy pizza restaurant, but cleanliness should be expected from all food establishments. I notice that the glass over the counters were absolutely filthy and covered with smudges that made seeing the toppings nearly impossible. I also notice that the staff likes to just throw scraps of food left on their gloves onto the ground behind the counter. As a result, there was a pile of morsels of onions, pepperoni, ham, peppers, and other food items shoved behind the staff. It is also worth mentioning that the marinara/red sauce pan was placed to close to the lettuce pan. Because of this, there's now marinara in the salad. Please also allow me to note that the staff person placing the pizzas in the oven and the one slicing the pizzas were not wearing gloves. I also witnessed the staff member handling the meats wipe her nose on her shirt. A lot of the surfaces were also dusty and tables remained unwiped for extended amounts of time. The trash bins overflowed and the vats for dirty plates were well beyond capacity. To cap it all, the bathroom was absolutely repulsive. It could not have attained such a sorry state in just a day, which tells me how long ago it was last tended to. Worst of all, there was no soap in the dispenser. Amazing experience at MOD. The line moved quick even though there were a considerable amount of people. On top of that the person taking my order noticed that I had a simple order and would be quicker versus the folks in front of me and had me go to the register to check out early.
