Double Dave's is rapidly becoming one of my favorite places, so much so that the staff now recognise me when I walk in (and know I'll be talking oodles of pictures). Today I stepped in with a friend who had never been to double Dave's... it's always nice to show someone you like a show stopping place to eat. Everything was clan and tidy, right down to the bathrooms. In fact, the bathrooms are so more More clean than other places that I wondered if someone is obsessed. I'm not complaining. It's refreshing to walk into the powder room that doesn't freak me out. So many places just don't make the effort. The buffet, as you can see, is excellent. The food appears to be fresh. It's kept tidy, so there aren't random food particles slopped everywhere; and, there's a nice variety. Our Pie a medium ham and pineapple and a small pepperoni, was hot, fresh, and wonderful with the amazing flavor that is the reason why I continue to eat at Double Dave's. It's the Fourth of July. So we called around five PM to confirm the are open until TEN (yes, Yelp has incorrect closing hours posted.). Someone answered and confirmed Ten. So, at 9:22PM, we called to place our Take Away order. Phone rang four times and hung up. If they have a store rule that the kitchen closes any amount of time before the doors lock, then they should post that information. Pizza is good, when you can get it. read more

My family and I have been going to DoubleDave's for quite a long time now. They unfortunately closed our favorite location a couple years back, but the pizza is still just as delicious here! The pizza rolls are tasty, but my favorite is definitely the chocolate chip pizza they have. I also don't think I've had a single negative experience with anyone working at any location I've been to, so hats off to the staff. I totally recommend checking them out if you haven't had DoubleDave's before as it would be sad to miss out on pizza as yummy as theirs. P.S. Go during the pizza buffet!!!! read more

I haven't had a pepperoni roll I'm about 25 years. So, when I was in Houston, I sought out DoubleDave's. The pepperoni rolls were as good as I remembered. The pizza was as well. The place itself was less than inviting. There was no clear signage as to when and how to order. The place was claustrophobic with the tables being close together and there being too much in a small space. They were cleaning up after the buffet hours were over. This review is for the dine-in buffet, not takeout. This location recently cut their lunch buffet hours to just 1 hour per day - 11-12 is when they have the buffet out, and that's it. But if you don't mind eating a little early, you get great food for a great price; $15 for all you can eat, which includes salad, pizza, and a fountain drink or iced tea. As for the quality, there's no comparison. Everything is great, and there hasn't been a single pizza we don't like. None of the meats taste cheap or are overly greasy like some places, and even if you choose chicken (of which they have at LEAST 3 kinds - buffalo, bbq and garlic alfredo) you get nice hearty white-meat slices. No compromise here, just great food, and it's all on display on the buffet. There's cheese sticks for the kiddies, a philly cheesesteak stromboli for the rest, and desserts include a "cinnamon roll" pizza, a chocolate chip cookie dough pizza, and (my personal favorite) the half-apple half-cherry strudel, wrapped in thin dough and baked to perfection. Westheimer location would not offer the senior discount like other Double Daves do. Web does say, subject to location...The location on Highway 6 does offer it, buy one, get one senior buffet free. Even after talking to manager, no discount....Paid for 2, had lunch. Overall, pizza was good....but no discount for seniors. read more

It's been quite a while since we've visited Double Dave's. Lots has changed, most noticeably, the lack of the buffet. We ordered a large veggie specialty pizza on whole wheat crust. Lots of veggies. Lots of cheese. Very little, if any, sauce. We also ordered a Greek salad. The pizza was good. I would have preferred the crust be a bit more crisp and a bit less "chewy". But that's just a matter of preference. Because it was so dry, I asked for a side of marinara sauce. The friendly server cheerfully gave me a small cup of sauce directly from the cooler. Yep. That's what we wanted. Cold marinara for our hot pizza. For $7, the Greek salad was a disappointment. The lettuce was so wet, we literally had a puddle of water in the bottom of the bowl. Our dressing was served on the side, so we can't say the liquid was from weak dressing. Double Dave's is still better than most. But I think we'll wait for the return of the buffet before e we visit again. read more

This was my first time visiting this location the other day. We came in to dine-in. Right off the bat I want to say that the customer service is lacking. We didn't know where to go, no greeting or welcoming message. We stood at the register after walking up and finding it only for no one to be there. The young female approached rue counter and just stared. No help, no engagement, no enthusiasm. Not a good first impression. After ordering we go to find a table. Had to keep looking because the tables were not cleaned and they were greasy... clearly they're not paying attention to the lobby. GOOD NOTE: Food was piping hot and was very quick. I asked for hot sauce and they told me they were going to charge me $.50..... for hot sauce at a pizza place. I don't get that? This should be a regular item to keep at the table or at the customers request. To charge for that is ridiculous, obviously I said no. FOOD: everything tasted really great, fresh and delicious. No complaints really there. Other than the insane charge for a condiment. However, I am giving mainly a 3-star for service and customer service. Needs some re-evaluating there. Coming in for the first time The place looks more like a sports bar with weird booths that are angled up so your body may be a bit uncomfortable. The customer service is lacking, we didn't have a person at the register for about 10-15 seconds. No greeting, or welcome. She just asked what we wanted and seemed a bit impatient. Sorry our business makes you upset? As for food, it was quite good, we had the monthly special with the Queso Blanco Chicken Pizza, it's a medium pizza for $10. Not bad at all usually the medium is $14.99 I believe. It comes with chicken, queso sauce, tomatoes, and cilantro. The blend is perfection and tastes like a nacho pizza almost. I don't know what queso they use but I fell in love with it. The crust is nice and soft with a crunch at the end. I probably wouldn't dine in again but might visit monthly just to try the special pizza. read more

I won't lie, I was nervous. The latest reviews were bad. On the ride to Double Dave's with my office-mates, I considered redirecting us to another food establishment. After all, I had been talking up Double Dave's over their preferred buffets for several years now. Within 5 minutes of sitting down, 6 hot pizzas were brought out to the buffet in addition to those already out. One of those pizzas was Double Dave's chocolate chip pizza. The chocolate chips were still soft, and taking bites out of that sweet pizza were like mini-dessert vacations between the salty main courses. Soon enough, the Pizza of the Month that we had requested when we paid for the buffet, The Jalapeno Popper Pizza, came out. It was an innovative pizza with crust both on the bottom and top, with jalapenos and the good stuff in between, and ranch drizzled across the top. My coworker pointed out that it was like a quesadilla pizza. I took one bite and was transported to a pool party where I was handed a jalapeno popper fresh off the grill. My coworkers all agreed - it was really good. Don't get me wrong - I didn't dig the philly cheesesteak concoction, and I would rather eat a fruit cake from Wal-Mart than the Thanksgiving Pizza of the Month from a few years back - but that is the beauty of the buffet: just put aside what you don't like, and move on to the next slice. Also, $14 is a lot to fork over for a pizza buffet. I will sum it up like this - if you are a college student and you just want as many pounds of pizza as possible for the cheapest price, or your taste buds simply have not evolved past pre-pubescent boy phase, please go to CiCi's. Came here for lunch buffet with coworkers and it's still a solid pizza buffet meal. Lunch buffet is served from 11am to 2pm so I recommend coming earlier than later if you want hot and fresh selections on the buffet. If they are missing something from the buffet, you can make a request and they'll bring it out to the buffet, and announce when it's ready. It may not be worth driving an hour to get to, but if you're in the area it's a decent lunch option. Every month, there is a specialty pizza featured and for the month of April 2022 it is a pretty tasty jalapeno popper style pizza. They have a mix of thin and thicker crust style pizzas as well as an assortment of dessert pizzas and their pepperoni rolls (good for dipping with ranch or marinara). We arrived at 1130am, and we caught them as they were bringing out at least 5 or 6 fresh pizzas for the buffet so we were pretty happy with everything. read more

I placed an order from their website, two pizzas, one was a "create your own" and the other was one from their specialty menu. Service was quick, I live about 1 1/2 mile from this location, that might had help with the delivery time frame, which was less than 30 minutes from the moment I hit the place your order button. Let's go next to the product itself, pizza. It was good, it was made to our specific requests, thin and crispy crust, light on cheese and sauce and just the ingredients my family like the most. My fiancé ordered from DoubleDave's just on a whim while scrolling through UberEats; we hadn't heard of it. I didn't have the pizza myself but she says it was mayyybe a 3 out of 5, and that she was trying to be generous. But the pepperoni rolls...they were definitely a 1 out of 5. After eating one pepperoni roll each, we both ended up looking at one another and asking at the same time if it "tasted like anything?". We both agreed, no. Not sure how to explain it except that it just tasted like bread; You could clearly see the pepperoni and cheese, but it weirdly didn't have one bit of taste to it. Usually love this place, but be careful if you order artichokes for a topping. There must be a shortage, because the large pizza I ordered this past Saturday night with artichoke topping was dismal. They took what was likely an eighth or a quarter of a heart and peeled away the tiniest bits and tried to cover my pizza. So it was basically a cheese pizza. Disappointed to say the least. read more

I have gone here twice now and have found consistency in their excellent service and terrific quality of pies! To begin with, they have different deals for each day that allow you to maximize your value of the dollar spent. We happen to go on Fridays where the special consists of the family feast: a large 10 slice specialty pizza, a medium 8 slice one topping, a dessert pizza and beverages. I got a second dessert as it were only $5 for a medium sized serving. You can get half and half for you specialty: half meat lovers and half grandma pizza. We also go the chocolate chip dessert and cherry strudel. The price is $26.99 which we find to be an amazing deal. The quality is the pizza was shocking as it was hot and fresh and had they unique softness plus crisp crust. There is an amazing balance of topping as well. The area is large and can hold several oversized parties without feeling overcrowded. They have a salad and pizza buffet that is around $12 but isn't offered around the clock. They share parking lot of other establishments so there isn't a ton but I've never seen an issue at the times I've gone for dinner. Btw, it reheats with excellence. This Double Daves seems to be all about pleasing the customer. Its amazing how many times they ask if there is a certain variety of pizza I want on the buffet. I'm a fan of the pizza, and the stromboli is even better. Not many places that you can go for less than $10 for dinner and leave satisfied. If only pizza was healthier I'd be here at least once a week! I'm with Kelly N., I'm not much of a Pepperoni roll person either.... and I totally agree that Double Dave's blows CiCi's out of the water on quality. We ordered this pizza of the month, and they sent us a chicken pizza with onions! My son took a bite of the pizza and they refused to give us a refund because they could not resell a pizza that had a bite taken out of it! Disgusting! The Double Dave's employee, Isabella, said they could not refund or replace the pizza because my toddler took a bite out of it, and they couldn't reuse it. We will never order from here again! The bf and I spent about $43 on two 8 piece wings, two pizzas and 2 fountain drinks. When we ordered we asked if we could get the pizzas to-go and the cashier told us she'd bring them out to us when they were ready. We waited about 40 minutes before we got up and found them sitting on an oven cold. While we were waiting we ate our wings that were admittedly tasty but full of fat. Love their pizza rolls but not impressed with the environment/staff. I ordered to go and when I got there they said my food was ready but no one was available to ring me up. No biggie. BUT THEN I sat there and sat there for over 15 mins. At that point my food was probably cold from sitting there (they could've at least let me start eating it), no one still had rang me up, & I had a work call I needed to be on in a few mins. I used to come by a different location all the time growing up but coming back as an adult I was a little disappointed. The quality is definitely not what I remember. I mean it's not bad but it's not great tasting pizza. It's probably comparable to cici's. Can't lie though for $10 (price includes a fountain drink) this is not a bad deal at all. There's a variety of pizzas available and a salad bar as well. No time limits or folks rushing you. One complaint was that pizzas seemed to run out quickly but was replaced often (although sometimes you had to wait for another refill because the replacements are random and you don't always get what you wanted). Give it a try if you're looking to stuff your belly but don't expect to have your socks knocked off with flavor. read more

They have arcade games along the wall as you walk towards the restroom to the back. Good hang out place with friends. 4. Food - They have all types of pizzas. Vegetarians and people watching their diet may like coming here. I love their salad option as it's not all pizza. They have sweet pizzas as well. It's a bang for the buck. 5.
