I get they are supposed to ask "anything else?" after your selection, but he asked this right after I chose my lettuce and every 5 seconds or so. Selections were not lined up with signs, so it took me a minute to order and than the pizza guy was nice but was never trained on how to slice a "kids cut pizza". Food was okay. They messed up my order but didn't feel like getting up to ask for it to be rectified. All the tables were full of trash so I had to ASK for someone to clean the tables. It was just me waiting and standing around either there was also other families. When I went to use the restroom there was no soap. I had to notify the staff and ASK them again to fill their soap. I do like Mod Pizza, just not this location. Terrible service from everyone except the guy at the end. Also the restaurant was dirty and freezing cold, went out to the patio and it was disgusting, every table dirty and garbage and food on the ground. If they were in the middle of a rush some of this may have made sense but there were more employees sitting around making rude comments and scowling at everyone than there were customers in the restaurant. First time here, recommended by a family friend. Just got 1 regular size thin crust Jasper pizza with added garlic cloves. It was so delicious and totally surprised me. I went here with my boyfriend on Saturday, October 2, 2021 in the afternoon and I was satisfied with my experience here. We received wonderful customer service from the two people who were working here that day. If my boyfriend or I asked for more of something, they happily added it to our pizza. Mod Pizza is delicious-- I'm a big fan! I always build my own and enjoy the diverse toppings. The roasted garlic is to die for and their seasonal toppings allow you to spice it up even if you're a regular, as well. On the day we visited, it was a Thursday lunch hour and they were severely understaffed, with only two employees. One person was building the pizzas. The other was jumping back and forth between register and the pizza oven station. My guess is this was an off day, so I'm only deducting a star, but it did mean we were waiting pretty long to get through the process and also witnessed a few slightly burnt pizzas, as well as one pizza that fell on the floor and needed to be rebuilt. I definitely recommend going in an off hour to avoid the traffic, but LOVE their pizzas! read more

Very bad customer service. It's like the workers don't want to be there. I could barely hear the guy asking me questions as he was talking under his breath with a don't care attitude. I had to say "excuse me" multiple times. Then he didn't even guide us through the process, like "would you like any toppings?" One of the pizzas we were trying to customize was already sent to be baked. We had to ask the next worker to get it back so we can add toppings, and even that was like pulling teeth. They got one of our pizzas wrong and didn't add the spicy buffalo sauce, which is one of the main reasons why we chose the pizza. I really wish the servers would be more friendly and helpful. I doubt we'll ever go back as we had a horrible experience. In addition to the bad customer service, my kids said the pizza wasn't that great either. We would rather go to Blaze pizza. read more

This was our first time here and the service was AMAZING. We ordered the Tristan and a plain cheese pizza (for my kids) They have lemonade here that is refreshing and tasty! Aside from having sodas. The pizza is yummy and the crust is to die for! If you like your crust crispy & doughy this is it. We ended up having to order another cheese pizza because my kids appetites were bigger then expected. I went up to order and they have it to us on the house! Okay, so i went here again today and they had more employees than last time. (Last time they only had three, this time it was four and it made all the difference). The three gentlemen making the pizzas were doing their best to knock out the line. One was wearing an orange bandana, one a grey hat, and one a beanie. They had it all down bc as soon as one pizza was done, they would move on to the next as quickly as they could. The young lady with the black bandana(glasses too) that was cooking the pizzas was switching between register and the cooking, and she was still able to cook the pizzas nicely. I'm a little surprised this place had been open 30 days already. They were very disorganized today, like it was day 3. The pizza is pretty tasty, but it could've been baked a little longer. They have good toppings, and I like the fact that you can get a salad as an alternative to pizza. I don't like that my 11" pizza was only cut into 4 slices. It should be 8 slices easily. Also, instead of letting me pick toppings as I was going down the line, the young lady made me tell her at the beginning what I wanted so she could write it on her checklist. I couldn't see all of the options from where I was standing. All in all it was OK, but I will probably wait another 60 days before I try it again. I love MOD. I've been ordering the Lucy sunshine for years. I usually go to the spot in Walnut Creek. Today I decided to go to this location. I love MOD because the workers are nice and the pizza is consistently good. However today, I went to order my usual Lucy Sunshine order and the worker said to me that she was new and asked if I could tell her what went on the pizza. Luckily for me I knew because I have ordered this exact pizza countless times. It confused me as to how a new employee wouldn't be provided with some sort of "cheat sheet" behind the counter until they knew the specialty pizzas by heart. I stopped in here on my way back from Lake Tahoe and was pretty impressed. The only reason why I give 4 instead of 5 stars is they won't make a calzone for you because "they are not supposed to". I was just going to order a traditional pizza since I didn't know you can build your own for no extra cost but the employee mentioned that and I could not resist. The dough and ingredients are so fresh and tasty and I love that they will add dried herbs on it for you. The Pesto and white sauce mixed are INCREDIBLE!! Must try! I usually give new places a huge pass when a new store opens. I figured it may take a while to iron out any wrinkles. And while the concept of "build-your-own" pizza is not new to me - I am usually not a fan. Maybe its because I pile on too many toppings or maybe other places don't know what they are doing. But the new MOD Pizza location in Concord GOT IT RIGHT the first time. I visited their new Concord location on their Grand Opening during lunch. Even with a line that never died down, I never felt rushed (and I was one of those annoying people that asked question). I got a pizza with red sauce and mozzarella cheese, added garlic and basil, topped it with both mild and hot italian sausage, threw in some mushroom and olives and sprinkles of rosemary, oregano, salt, pepper and asiago cheese. I was a little afraid that my pile of topping would prevent my pizza from cooking properly. But the pizza was perfect. Light crispy through out, I could cut into it AND pick it up to eat with my hands. It was so good I ask the whole thing by myself. You would think I would be done - but they have these desserts called No Name Cakes. Let's just say I got three. There is a saying - you never get a second chance to make a good first impression, well MOD Pizza didn't need one. read more

We popped in w/that expectation & were pleasantly surprised. This Veranda MOD Pizza location indeed got its shit together. I usually get pizza once a week from this location. They either forget my "No name cake" or burn my pizza. I live in Antioch and pick up my order for my kids on my way home from work. I was very disappointed when I got home and opened it, all 3 of my pizzas were burnt in the back, and I couldn't drive back to take it and show it to them. Instead, I called; first, it was very difficult to get hold of a live person. Once I did, she was quick to say I'm sorry and put me on hold to speak to a manager; while on hold, the phone was hung up, and I didn't bother calling back. My BF & I were in line, waiting to order and it was taking a little while...not too overly long and when it was our turn the person by the dough simply said "because you've waited longer than we wanted you to, your pizzas are on us today. If i could do negative reviews i would! This could literally be a life and death situation if someone has a food allergy (gluten intolerance etc.) I ordered 3 pizzas via the app with cauliflower crust because my son has adhd and at the moment its diet controlled through keto. If you are a parent with a kid who reacts badly to sugar, you know that there is a significant impact on sugar/carbs with the adhd brain. Thank god this isnt an allergy diet requirement but after he got home he realized it wasn't cauliflower crust after i took a bite of it. Unfortunately my 13 yr old didnt think twice and ate 3 slices so he is completelt off keto and we will have to wait 2-3 days until he is back on keto. Again, what is most upsetting is the fact that this could be allergy requirements and thet clearly dont give an eff about what you put as your order. Very disappointed, stay away from places that dont consider specifics on orders esp. When it may be due to a gluten intolerance, allergy or specific diet requirement.
