I think they purposely hire folks who are the most antisocial employees they can find. The place is a mess, the workers constantly wipe their nose and their mouth as they're making pizzas with the gloves. I had to correct our guy several times. The ingredients for the pizzas are all over the place And the oh too cool for school guy who put the pizzas in the oven doesn't seem to give a crap as he slams pizzas and boxes all over the place. I recently visited the Cave Creek location of your establishment, and was impressed with the quality of the Dillion James pizza. As a result, I decided to place an online order for pickup of the same pizza, as well as a cheesy bread, at approximately 5:15 PM. Upon receiving confirmation of my order, I promptly made my way to the store. Upon arrival at 5:39 PM, I noticed that the pickup area was empty and approached the counter to inquire about the status of my order. I was met with an unprofessional attitude from the baker, who stated that they did not have my order under that name and required the name it was placed under. I provided my name, Jameel Adum, as well as the confirmation number and my payment information from the website. The baker stated that this information was not helpful and refused to assist me further. I requested to speak with the manager, but was dismayed to discover that the baker was also the manager. He proceeded to ignore me and attend to other customers' orders. After some time, I approached him again and inquired about the status of my order. He then walked over to the computer and informed me that my order had been made, but someone had taken it. He offered no solution to the problem, leaving me feeling frustrated and ignored. I requested that my order be canceled and my money refunded, but the manager refused to provide me with a receipt or confirmation of this action. This lack of organization, communication and customer service has left a negative impression on me and I would appreciate a proper solution for this bad experience and clear communication about it. Have been watching the buildout of the space and figured we'd try it for lunch. Having never been to MOD before, it seemed fairly straight forward and fast. Went for 1/2 Calexico and 1/2 Tristan which seemed like a good combination for us to try. However, after finding what appeared to be wood shaving in the pizza we approached the staff for a quick explanation. Without any apparent manager around, the two staff members were guessing at random things that it might be. The first response I heard was that "it was....gross". Not sure what food safety protocols, if any, are in place across MOD, but suggest someone get to the bottom of this quickly. I really like MOD Pizza. This branch has an issue. In my experience the young lady did not place the sauce near the edges of the pizza. She left about 1 and 1/2 in on the edge all the way around. Then she only placed the goodies in about a 6-in circle and piled them high. I came back a couple days later and watched while I was in line and she continued the same practice. Happily, a different young gentleman made my pizza. He also tried to not get the sauce to the side that I asked him to take it wider. He also did not place the toppings near the edge until I requested that he do that. He was very pleasant. I am posting a picture that a different customer posted on a review. This is not my pizza but it shows the diameter of the toppings in relation to the crust. It shows the one and a half inch perimeter all the way around the edge with no sauce. I don't typically post but this is such a disappointment after the amazing pizzas I had at the MOD Pizza in Kent station in Washington State. There were only three girls working the front. They have several different sizes, it is one charge no matter what you put on it. It is prepared fast. It is the new in-pizza now. A lot of young people like this. I am so sick of labor being and excuse for everything. There needs to be accountability or simply don't take people's money. Tonight for example we did an online order. 20 minutes was ready time. Walked in 20 minutes later and asked and the pizzas weren't even made. If it's going to be longer then put the quote time longer, but don't add to the quote and make my pizza sit there for 20 minutes and get cold either. I was enjoying a lovely day with my Granddaughter until we went to this Pizza joint. My Granddaughter is a picky eater but she loves going to Mod Pizza, or at least she did until this visit. As we were walking in she was excited and said that they always get her order right when she goes to this place. She ordered an 11" pepperoni pizza with no sauce. We talked with the order taker about the different sizes and decided, again, on the 11" pizza and again said "pepperoni with NO SAUCE!"I ordered the Maddog 6" pizza for myself. When we picked up our order, from the counter, the pepperoni pizza had sauce. I took the pizza back and the man behind the counter turned from delightful to nasty and hateful! I told him the pizza was not supposed to have sauce. He became irritated and said that we didn't order it that way. When I told him that we absolutely did order it without sauce he raised his voice and said no you didn't I'll show you the order ticket. I told him that I didn't care what his ticket said that I indeed ordered the pizza without sauce. He then grab the pizza out of my hand and walked away. The pizza was remade and he delivered it to the table and he SLUNG the pizza at us, turned and walked away without uttering a word. My pizza, the Maddog had sausage on it, which was rancid. I took all the sausage off the pizza and we ate as fast as we could because Mr. Nasty kept giving us the evil eye and making my Granddaughter uncomfortable. You have to pay when ordering and they ask you to select the tip on the computer screen. To start, there are 7 people working at 3:40pm on a Tuesday. We have visited many Mod Pizza locations and they've ALWAYS been good. We order our usual and look for a table - there are 7 open (good social distancing). EVERY SINGLE OPEN TABLE WAS FILTHY. And the chairs were NASTY, too!!! Not ONE of the people working thought to clean?? I actually had to go over and ask the manager who was taking up a booth (only 2 available) and inform them that every table was dirty. Really? Yes, really. They did clean the tables (not chairs) after I informed them that every single table was disgusting. Our pizza order was complete / ready to eat and I asked for 2 sets of silverware and they had to go look for it in the back- they serve SALADS! How are you supposed to eat them without silverware??? They found ONE SET in the back. Lastly, and most importantly- my daughters cheese pizza wasn't even fully cooked! Seriously?!?! NOT GOOD. I order here all the time and never had a problem. I just ordered a pickup and there wasn't a cup for my fountain drink. I asked for my large cup that I order and instead a kid hands me back a small and turns around. I don't know if they just needs more training to see the difference in size between a 24 and a 12 oz cup. read more
