My family had two meals at Big Earl's in the past week. Not only is the food delicious and atmosphere fun and quirky, the staff are wonderful too. I happened to leave my purse behind at the restaurant the same morning as our return flight home, and our server kept it safe and tucked away until I could retrieve it (in a bit of a panic). I come out to Cave Creek to play golf a couple times a year and this place is always my go to place for a bite to eat when I'm done on the course. Such a cute unique restaurant! It's an old fashion gas station made into a fun restaurant. Most of the seating is outdoors but they did have limited indoor seating. My Dad got a peanut butter milkshake but when asked if it was made with real milk I was told it was a premade mix. They had all kinds of menu items one would expect from a "greasy eats " place. Absolutely love this place!! It has a small town feel and eating here made me feel like I was in a Hallmark Christmas movie. They have the cutest Christmas decorations and very friendly staff. I ordered Big Earl's burger with no onions and it was seriously amazing! It comes with a "secret" Cajun sauce. I don't typically like spicy things, but the sauce gave the burger extra extra flavor. We also tried out the AZ prickly pear lemonade and that was delicious! We came in here on a Saturday after doing some hiking in the area, and this place hit the spot. I've been seeing Bug Earl's all over TikTok and finally had to try it after just moving to the area. I'm not usually a big burger fan (I normally go for lettuce wraps), but when I saw they had a cheeseburger salad on the menu, I was sold! When we first pulled up, I immediately loved the vibe, it's built in an old gas station, which gives it such a cool, unique feel. Our food did take a little while to come out, but honestly, I didn't mind at all, it just made it feel like everything was really being cooked to order. We decided to try a little bit of everything for the table: onion rings, tater tots, and fries. Every single one was delicious, but the tots especially... I'm still thinking about them! I ordered my cheeseburger salad with jalapeños (so good and even better than a lettuce wrap burger, in my opinion), my husband got the arugula burger, and my daughter got the kids hot dog. The best part? They both ate every last bite, which my four-year-old definitely doesn't always do! The whole experience was just awesome. We discovered Big Earl's when adventuring to the unique town of Cave Creek, AZ. We had a busy day and had a desire for a good hamburger. Thanks to Yelp! we found one there. My wife enjoyed their veggie burger and reported it was tasty and even crisp...usually unusual for veggie burgers. I had the basic burger on the menu and it was wonderful. We really like seeking out locally owned/operated dives and Big Earl's Greasy Eats certainly has that look and appeal when driving by. But, like the person I was with that said it was a great place before the latest ownership, "it's just not the same place it once was". The burgers are dry, small and tasteless. The onion rings are the kind that have that rock hard thick batter where you barely notice there is an onion somewhere inside all that batter. You can get the same packaged in those large plastic bags of the frozen food sections of warehouse clubs. The adult shakes were actually tasty, but in very tiny plastic cups, like the plastic sippy cups children get only with a straw instead of the safety top and handles on the side. You don't get much for what you pay. read more

For what it is, the food and coffee is good. Nothing fancy, but tasty. The staff are consistently friendly and that makes this place get 5 stars. We are locals and sometimes I just don't feel like making breakfast. We get a machaca burrito and a Cowboy burrito. Lots of food. The atmosphere here is quirky, on purpose. I am so glad we tried this place because the food was great for lunch and the outdoor seating was great. They even have outdoor games for the kids and adults while you wait. You walk up and order at the front and they bring your food out to you. The prices are very fair and they have lots of options! We did not try the adult milkshakes but many people had them and they looked delicious. The cheeseburger salad was phenomenal and no dressing needed because of all the flavors on top. We've visited my father in law twice since he moved to Arizona, and both times we have come here on one of the days and I must say I can't recommend it more. It's a place where you order and find a seat. This time they were slammed a line way out into the dining area so we had my son pick out what he wanted to eat and then go find us a table for 4. We ordered a grilled cheese, 3 burgers some onion rings/tots 2 ciders and a couple of milkshakes. Despite being overwhelmed by a huge line the person taking our order made sure to crack jokes and make recommendations to anyone who was uncertain about what they wanted. The place isn't the fanciest (come on it's called greasy eats for crying out loud) but it is clean, welcoming and has delicious, burgers cooked exact to order the crispiest tots and onion rings and one of the friendliest and fastest staff's I've seen, my kid didn't even finish asking for some bbq sauce and they were back with it. If you are in the area highly recommended I've been here on 100% of my trips so far, a streak I will look to continue on my next visit. read more

Every time I drive through Cave Creek, I want to stop here, and today was finally the day! We came with our dog, they are very dog friendly, plenty of seating outside with fans and misters. They even gave our pup a bowl of ice water. There are tons of cool games to play as you wait for your food. We ordered garlic fries to share, which were cooked to perfection. The chicken club was super yummy, and the chicken was so flavorful and juicy. At the register, they had some freeze dried candy bags, I recommend after you eat , checking out the candy store right next door. We got freeze-dried sour skittles and some unique taffy flavors . Big Earl's has been a staple for us for a long time. It's in an old gas station and most of the tables are outside. There are tons of outdoor games, and an old timey candy shop. All singing and game areas are enclosed, so kids can sort of just roam around and be entertained. As promised, the food is mostly greasy American, but very tasty! The only advice I have is not to get the kids hot dog if you're not a kid. It's not as good quality as the adult dog - by a long shot - which is probably why the kids dog is so cheap. Everything else, including the adult dog, is great. They even have boozy milkshakes and a full bar, which can be used for boozy hot chocolate or coffee on cold nights. I highly recommend taking the family for a drive in movie night at dusk on a Saturday - just check their website or socials for what's playing that week. You can bring camping chairs, or just use your truck bed with some blankets. A friend once put a whole mattress and little lights around the truck bed to make it really cozy - the kids loved it! read more

Everything is expensive these days. $12 for just a cheeseburger and $20+ with fries drink and tip is double what it was here five years ago. Seating is 95% outside.
