Love this place. Always greeted with a smile and maybe a joke or two. You'd never know they have a little kitchen in the back of this souvenir shop. Family owned and operated. The best tacos and Indian fry bread in AZ. Hubby loves sweet he gets his fry bread with powdered sugar. I love the Navajo Taco fry bread. Smothered in chilli, cheese, lettuce & tomatoes sooo good. Sometimes I get the Taco plate made with shredded beef. They do have many other things on their menu all very good. Prices are fantastic. Small place in the back to eat also seating out front or tables under the trees out back. Don't drive to fast you'll miss it! Its clean rustic atmosphere is fun. The store has all kinds of rocks, T shirts, blankets even a scorpion rocks. We live about 45 min from here and it's so worth the drive. Great place to bring out of town guest to see the desert town of Cave Creek and enjoy some great food. read more

Came back for a second time to enjoy the beef enchiladas, but this time the rice was hard and cold. Also tried the beef taco, which lacked flavor and was not tender. The beef enchilada luckily was still a hit. It comes with green sauce, but make sure to ask for their red hot sauce. It's one of the best red hot sauces I've had, with just the right amount of spice. The service was a bit better this time as the owner himself pleasantly greeted us and took our order. The inside of the restaurant could use a deep cleaning, especially their floors, window sills, and bathroom. read more

What a great find. We have driven by this place many, many times, but have stopped in. We have no excuse for never stopping by and now that we have, we regret not having done so much sooner. Fantastic laid back, homey atmosphere. It ain't fancy, but you're going for the food though anyway. We had the Navajo Taco which is nothing like a taco you've ever had before. It a large fry bread on a plate with all the fixin's piled on top. A meal all by itself. Also had the regular tacos which were hard shell and those shells are made in-house. Delicious! For dessert we shared the apple, cinnamon, powdered sugar, honey fry bread. Mmm. All the ingredients are fresh and the salsa very tasty. It's order-at-the-front-counter, seat yourself and pick up your order at the rear counter service. The two ladies who work there are cordial, helpful to those of first timers in making menu decisions and very, very efficient in getting your food out. What a delightful place. doesn't look like much from the outside. But walked in to a very cute, quaint, and adorable store. So much fun stuff to look at. Ordered a chicken burrito, tacos, and chili with Indian bread. We sat outside in the front patio, which was very clean. i'm a chilly snob and I absolutely loved the chili. I will never stop hyping this place up!!! I have come here since I can remember, even in the 90's as a kid. It is absolutely some of the best food you will ever eat. The women behind the grill are award winners, literally. Bart is such a genuine, kind, funny person, which truly shows in everything from the food to the gift shop they run. Calling him an "owner" would be cutting him short!! I have so many memories, so many items I have from so many trips to Indian Village. It truly is a part of my heart. My parents brought me, I have brought my friends, and now I bring my son. We have also brought our sweet pup with us many times, and Bart has been nothing but kind to her. Although she'll be visiting Indian Village in heaven now, we seriously could not forget to mention her and how much she loved coming here too. This place is located next to Horny Toad, which is the most famous restaurant in Cave Creek so this place gets over looked a lot. GO HERE. This food is so authentic and delicious. I had 3 tacos all with chicken. They came in a hard shell but they had lettuce, tomato, and cheese. I also had their salsa on the side. I am not exaggerating when I say their salsa is the best salsa I've ever had. It has a little bit of a bite to it but not too spicy and extremely flavorful. It wasn't too tomato based either it was perfect. Their rice is also super good, I mixed everything with their salsa! My friend had the chimichanga with chicken and it came fried. It was also delicious and came with pico di Gallo on the side. We also had a piece of authentic fry bread with honey and powdered sugar. It was so good but we could barely finish it we were so full. All of the food is made fresh and they have a family whose been there since opening cooking everything from scratch. Everything you order is ordered separately even the salsa and hot sauce. Even though it's separate it's decently priced. Just so you know if you eat inside there is no AC it's pretty warm but they have tables in the back and they also have a cute Indian shop up front. This is a hole in the wall. In fact if you weren't paying attention, you'd drive right by. It's a "trading post" with tshirts and other typical tourist things for sale. But in the corner of the store, is a restaurant counter where you place your order. Then you can sneak around to the back where there are 5-6 tables to eat at. (There are some in front too.) I had the Navajo Taco Indian Fry Bread and O.M.G. So delicious. A great kick of spice served hot and fresh within 5 minutes. I split that with a friend and we also split a powdered sugar Indian Fry Bread and it was the perfect amount for lunch without being overstuffed. They have a large menu of other things like tacos, burritos, chimichangas, enchiladas and all types of fry bread. They have breakfast food too. If you're going to Cave Creek, you definitely need to try this place for a one-of-a-kind experience. I know I'll be back and I'll be telling my friends about it too! read more

If you like fry bread this is your place. Very good Mexican food. I would only recommend going on a warm day because the outside garden is the place to eat there. I ordered a plain fry bread, a small container of their spicy beans, which I applied to the bread then ordered a taco and scraped the generous salad stuff into the bread, beans combo and had a great meal. read more

Bart is a hoot. From the time we walked in, he was chatting. Sometimes to us, sometimes to the cooks and may be a little to himself. Casual doesn't come close to describing Indian Village. Everything is run by the ladies and Bart just has fun and collects the money. I had the Indian Taco and my wife had the chicken tacos. Mine came with a sorta clear salsa that was nicely spicy. The fry bread was great - crispy exterior and pillowy center. If I had a gripe, it was bean centric with a minor amount of beef. My wife thought her tacos were excellent. Two were plenty. Okay this cute little store/restaurant is a hidden gem in old cave creek. The Navajo taco was so good, I love the fry bread. The enchiladas were great with a interesting sauce. The store itself has lots of merchandise specially for cave creek such as t-shirts, rugs, ponchos, etc. The restaurant is small but has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. They make their food fresh and tastes homemade. The chicken in the enchilada and taco is so moist and soft. The sauce is wonderful; I wanted to lick the plate. They make their own salsa and is so yummy. The fry bread with honey and powder sugar is so good. I don't know where else you would get this good fry bread. Price is right too! Highly recommend. An absolute treat to be here! Came here after a hot day of hiking to have friendly workers and have a great (and long) conversation with the gentleman taking my order. Food was absolutely delicious as I got the fry bread with red Chile beans and cheese. Even with all of the stuff on there the fry bread remained crispy. Best tacos ever. I like the beef with the side of beans. For indulgence, the Navajo Frybread taco. And maybe the frybread for desert---just powdered sugar. It sifts all over you, so everyone knows you had lunch at the Indian Village. The Hellfire Chili is enough to make you repent. With this chili, hellfire is not an adjective, it's a verb. The store is fun to wander around in while the ladies make your food in their postage stamp-sized kitchen. Lots of great tourist junk and funny t-shirts. The owner is always willing to pass the time with you--and ask Bart about local history---he knows it. If it's not too hot, you can sit out back and watch the hijinks at the local biker bar. Mexican is by far my favorite cuisine of all time, and I have eaten at too many Mexican restaurants around the country to count. This was by far the best Mexican I have ever had in my life. Guacamole was made fresh to order, their smooth house salsa had a great kick to it, without over powering the food. The ladies working were super friendly and service was fast. Everything is fresh and homemade. You walk past the kitchen to get to seating area and can watch them make your meal. I ordered a chicken enchilada and told the chef to pick the sauce.
