Every time I drive through Cave Creek, I want to stop here, and today was finally the day! We came with our dog, they are very dog friendly, plenty of seating outside with fans and misters. They even gave our pup a bowl of ice water. There are tons of cool games to play as you wait for your food. We ordered garlic fries to share, which were cooked to perfection. The chicken club was super yummy, and the chicken was so flavorful and juicy. At the register, they had some freeze dried candy bags, I recommend after you eat , checking out the candy store right next door. We got freeze-dried sour skittles and some unique taffy flavors . The artwork around gives you plenty to look at and talk about as well. We will definitely be back. read more

Big Earl's has been a staple for us for a long time. It's in an old gas station and most of the tables are outside. There are tons of outdoor games, and an old timey candy shop. All singing and game areas are enclosed, so kids can sort of just roam around and be entertained. As promised, the food is mostly greasy American, but very tasty! The only advice I have is not to get the kids hot dog if you're not a kid. It's not as good quality as the adult dog - by a long shot - which is probably why the kids dog is so cheap. Everything else, including the adult dog, is great. They even have boozy milkshakes and a full bar, which can be used for boozy hot chocolate or coffee on cold nights. I highly recommend taking the family for a drive in movie night at dusk on a Saturday - just check their website or socials for what's playing that week. You can bring camping chairs, or just use your truck bed with some blankets. A friend once put a whole mattress and little lights around the truck bed to make it really cozy - the kids loved it! read more

First off, the food is pretty good. Is it worth the price, you be the judge. Everything is expensive these days. $12 for just a cheeseburger and $20+ with fries drink and tip is double what it was here five years ago. Seating is 95% outside. Very cute diner located off Cave Creek Rd. The old gas station made for interesting ambience. We ordered at the bar and our food & drinks were served quickly, Bartender was friendly but told us the alcoholic slushee was pina colada - ordered 2 and they were obviously margaritas with lots of sweet & sour. Excited to try with daughter after seeing a nice review on YouTube. Drove over half an hour to get there. Charming local place with friendly staff. Ordered the Gut Buster and daughter ordered the big Earl burger. Onion rings were great ...but that was as good as it got. Burgers were so mid and overly salted...I have a salt tooth but it was too salty for me! Very disappointed in the food and very expensive...over $50! This restaurant has been a childhood favorite of mine because of the distance and history behind it. However, I just recently visited again and was frustrated with the prices. I absolutely love the burgers but to charge 3$ for a slice of cheese, 1$ for ranch, and 5$ for tater tots is outrageous. I really hope they can stop screwing over there customers. We stopped in for a bite with the kids and boy do they not disappoint! The burgers had perfect char and the bun was soft. The Cajun fries and ranch were out of this world. The service was top tier and they had a great selection of beers. The patio is equipped with misters and there is a play area for entertainment while you wait. It's a greasy spoon for sure! And it's MESSY!! Don't wear your white jeans or you'll be sad like me. Anyway, we stopped in this weekend as they are really the size of a gas station with all outdoor seating, so that fits the COVID bill. You order inside and they have a sign stating no more than five in the building. 'Most' people adhering to that rule, but not all (of course, right?). Same with masks 'most' but not all, wore them while in the building and weren't challenged. Glad it was windy today. The Buffalo blue cheese (grilled) was really good, just messy. Fries had a coating on them that made they crisp- very good. Hubby said his Earl burger was very good. He made a mess, but not as big as mine. They do have over 90 beers available. Nice. For what it is, the food and coffee is good. Nothing fancy, but tasty. The staff are consistently friendly and that makes this place get 5 stars. We are locals and sometimes I just don't feel like making breakfast. We get a machaca burrito and a Cowboy burrito. Lots of food. The atmosphere here is quirky, on purpose. Fun place to have some food and people watch. Bathrooms are clean every time, too. If it looks busy, there are tables out back that most people miss. read more

Not sure what I was expecting for a place called greasy eats. Ordered burrito with cheese, chorizo and green chilis. $2 extra for each additional item so $6 plus $11.99. Sour cream another $2. Ridiculous. Americano coffee was terrible. Two sips and ready to dump it. My wife could not even drink it. You are better off going to Janeys or Grotto or local Johnny's. The line we stood in took 40 mins and about 15 minutes to bring out the food. Not worth the wait at all! If you are in Cave Creek and want a good burger, you should stop here. If there is a line, you should get back in your car and keep on trucking, cuz your not missing anything major here that's worth the wait. It's like they are moving in slow motion. I've passed this spot a few times while driving through Cave Creek and decided to stop in. There was a long wait to order that seemed to be caused by limited staffing. For example, the gal who took orders also made the delicious milkshakes. When I see the name "Big Earl's Greasy Eats" it conjures an image in my mind of thick juicy burgers. Something from days gone by. What I got was an average burger that was a little on the dry side. I found a couple of bits of apple skins on the burger (they do serve apple slices to kiddos!). The onion rings were also just ok. The milk shakes are made using vanilla soft serve. I tried the cookies & cream. It was the best part of the meal. The meal came in a little under $20. The prices have gone a bit from what is listed on the menus posted here. Next time I'll stop over at the Whataburger before I head to Cave Creek and save a few bucks. While they mention that they cook to medium well, I didn't think anything of it until receiving the bland tasteless food a while later-very ordinary. So the place may not be fancy and you sit outside, but let me tell you the burgers are to die for. They are also very large. Their french fries are also very good. I recommend the bacon burger.
