We tried the Dubai Chocolate (wow--amazing!), the Hello Kitty Mochi Nut (so cute and yummy!), and the Original flavor--and honestly, everything was phenomenal. The kids were over the moon with all the flavors, and honestly, so were we! The customer service was super friendly, there was no line, and it was so easy to order. Plus, it's perfectly located in the food court, right in the middle of all the other delicious eateries, which made it super convenient for a family stop. Disappointing Experience Due to Staff Attitude I visited the Mocha Nut location at South Coast Plaza last night and was genuinely disappointed by the customer service. The staff member who assisted us was noticeably rude and dismissive, which made the experience uncomfortable from the start. There was no greeting, no basic courtesy, and questions were met with attitude rather than professionalism. In a location like South Coast Plaza--where customers expect a certain level of service--this was surprising and unacceptable. I've been to many cafés and understand that evenings can be busy, but there's no excuse for treating customers with disrespect. Stopped by this mochi doughnut shot after a hearty meal at South Coast Plaza. Service was prompt and friendly. We got the 3 for $10 deal, with original, chocolate and strawberry. The consistency is a bit chewer than regular doughnuts, not really noticeable unless you're really paying attention. Mochinut is located inside the Collage near Bloomingdales at South Coast Plaza. My cousin, her kids, and I wanted to split a half dozen but put into 2 boxes. The more you order, the bigger the discount. However, we were informed by the cashier that if we were to do that, a service charge would apply. Oh well. I normally love this spot, but the female cashier working at 4:50PM on Sunday, September 28th has a bad Gen Z attitude. When I ordered my hot dog and asked for a specific sauce, she would impatiently interrupt me and told me to order my sauce later at the counter. Total pain to find in this mall--it's buried deep inside Bloomingdale's on the bottom floor. It's tucked next to a bunch of small food stalls, and honestly, it was hella hard to locate. Bought a hot cheetoh mozarella stick and waited 8 minutes for them to make it (not the issue) and when the lady gives me the box it malfunctions and slipped out of my hands and falls to the ground. To the middle age asian woman working today, she was very rude and impatient when I was asking questions on the flavors of the mochinut. I didn't get a proper "Hello, how are you?" She just stared at me and my friend with such annoyance, mind you I was being respectful and polite. Her behavior felt aggresive and dismissive. Most inefficient store I've been to. Waited 20 mins just for a one item order. 10 mins waiting in line (I was the 2nd in line) cuz she was trying to mop the floor and serve everything and take orders. Not sure why there's only one person in there? Also she had to run to another store nearby to ask whether they allow exchanging coins. I had a dollar bill but needed quarters for something. I've never witnessed a food section inside of any department stores, especially at Bloomingdale's. It was pretty busy because the layout of the food area is super compact but well worth it. Keep in mind there are liens at each of them, depending on when you go. We tried three flavors for the donuts and they were pretty good. I am pretty outraged due to the service and the food at this place. The cashiers was rude and snapped at me to the point where I literally didn't want to purchase anything anymore. It is unsanitary how the cashier handles cash and then boxes food up and touches the food items with her bare hands. You can also clearly see into the back where the cook is not wearing gloves. We also had to wait 20 minutes for the corn dog. My boyfriend got severe food poisoning after eating a Korean corn dog. 7 dollars for food poisoning and awful service??? I realize that they seem extremely understaffed but this is truly just ridiculous. I always get the straight mozzarella but they do have one with sausage and also option for half and half (half sausage and half mozzarella). My personal opinion love the straight mozzarella with the sweet and spicy dip. They do have other sauces ie honey mustard , ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce.
