Calamari, Cinnamon Rolls & Cotton Candy

Yum! If you haven't yet tried the fusion of mochi in a donut form, then you my friend, are missing out. I've tried mochi donuts from a few different venues, and the ones at Mochinut stand up to the standard. From what I can tell, the flavours change everyday which helps keep it fun and it looked like the staff here are always popping out newly coated donuts, so you can count on the display to always be fresh! You order from a screen and pay by card; if it's cash they ask that you have exact change only. I ordered a 3-pack of Mochi Donuts which came to $9.90. I opted for the Calamansi Poppy Seed, Cinnamon Roll and Cotton Candy. These were all delicious, I love the chewy dough texture and the flavour that came from the icing. A stand out was definitely the Calamansi, and I'm always a sucker for anything cinnamon, so you can trust that I loved the Cinnamon Roll one, the Cotton Candy was coated in fun candy pieces. It was a good trio. The cafe is large enough with two or three picnic tables and bar seating. It's nice and clean with the fun neon living plants aesthetic. It's cute and I love that they're open late to satisfy those sweet cravings.

I really wanted to like Mochinut more than I did, but their ube churro flavor was a bit underwhelming. I came here on a busy Friday night, and while I appreciate the variety of flavors, cute shop, and easy parking, I was not impressed by the lack of flavor in the ube. The price, a little over $3 for a small-ish doughnut, is comparable to what I have seen in other city centers like Portland and Seattle, so I can't fault them there. Overall, I would suggest folks give this place a go particularly if you have a late night hankering and try it out for yourself. Maybe their other flavors will taste a little more vibrant.

I was worried about eating here based on the reviews but I was happily surprised!! The churro donut was my absolute favorite! I wish they opened earlier so I could grab some on my way to work. I tried their tiger milk boba tea and it was way too sweet and I should have opted for 50% sweetness and maybe oat milk too. It felt like drinking heavy cream otherwise. But you can easily get double boba which I love! I found everyone super friendly and would definitely return. The passion fruit mango lemonade was the best though.

Mochinuts are some of my favorite donuts, though my usual spot is in SLU. During a trip up to Bellingham, it was hard to resist stopping by for one here. I could complain about the same things everyone does, like the price, but honestly I'm used to it since it's really a "normal" price for a donut in Seattle. Say what you will, but that's just normal for me. As usual, the donuts were sweet and chewy, the latter being the entire reason to buy a Mochinut. They rotate flavors so it's always a hit or miss depending on your preferences, but I have to say I was surprised by the s'mores and it ended up being my favorite. Normally I get the guava when it's available so I had high hopes for the kumquat orange, but it was a little artificial tasting in my opinion. I've never gotten a drink from Mochinut before, but it definitely didn't disappoint. The Ube Milk was creamy and had just the right amount of Ube, and came in a cute little can.

5/5 stars because we have come here too many times and eaten too many of these Mochinuts. They're addicting, honestly, and it's terrible because they are available by delivery even. By the way, the store itself is cute and the perfect place for a low-cost date. Pro tip: Visit the Mochinut Bellingham Instagram page to see what flavors they have each week, since the flavors are all on a rotating basis.

Definitely a place to stop by at least once! Their doughnuts are amazing! I love the different flavors and even the plain one is great! Their corn dogs are equally delicious! Boba is good, depending on the flavor may be great! I've been in a couple times and sometimes they've welcomed us in other times they didn't. Really that is the only interaction with employees as well as picking up the food. I agree with others on here that there is very minimal interaction with them to be automatically adding a tip to your total but there is an option to decline our custom add a tip.

Cool little Korean hot dog shop (also cheese on a stick option) I love the crispness of their rice flour batter on the corn dogs. I did not try the donuts (they do not sell single ones) the smallest is a pack of 3 for almost $10. I tried the Thai tea boba which was pretty good & comes in a can that they pour into and seal themselves and they do offer jelly for the teas also as an option. The menu is mainly Mochi Donuts, Korean Rice Flour Hotdogs, Bubble Tea Drinks.

This location is currently in what's called a "soft open." So please keep in mind that they are changing every day. The Mochi Donuts were crisp on the outside which is expected with mochi donuts. Soft and chewy on the inside. For the uninitiated, they're close to a cruller donut with a more crispy bite. These aren't the best mochi donuts I've ever had, but it is wonderful to have a new option in Bellingham. To clarify, they would be an okay option in Seattle where there is a lot of competition (Dochi for example) In my opinion, approaching Mochinut with these realistic expectations would ensure an enjoyable experience for the wary foodie. Favorite item I tried was the Churro Mochi Donut. It reminded me of an elephant ear from the fair. I did not like their automated ordering system. It was clunky and felt cobbled together. Especially the most important part: paying. This would have been a 4 star review, but I did not notice the automatically applied tip before I hit "submit" post signature. 15% automatically selected on top of their pricing is going to burn some customers. It certainly put a sour taste in my mouth. Considering that first impression, I am unsure if I will return soon. Perhaps after their official opening when the kinks have been worked out. But not a moment sooner.

So glad Bellingham has more dessert variety! This place is a must try franchise! I love the different flavor line ups each week, they always keep you wanting to come back each week to try as they always sound so good and really do not disappoint when you get them! I've loved the nutella ones and I honestly really enjoy them plain, they are just that good. The fruit frosted ones can be really sweet at times, but they still are good. I also enjoy the passion mango lemonade with lychee jelly, and the cute can style they come in! Haven't tried the hot dog food items yet but will soon!

Cute little shop, with friendly people! I will say unlike other people's reviews, I like that you can order through a kiosk instead of ordering at a register. It allows me time to look at the donuts, drink options and food, and be able to see what it would look like! It automatically pops up with a tip, but if you're looking at the screen and paying attention, you can very easily change it :) I will say though that it's insanely overpriced. Almost $10 for 3 donuts that to me are not super amazing and the drinks are tiny for the price. Their Thai tea is bomb though! Definitely worth trying, but after going twice I'm not sure I'll return.

What a fun and unique newer business in Bellingham! Mochinut offers Korean inspired street food, mochi/boba donuts, and bubble tea. I was pleased with the service I received when I visited. Unfortunately, I was unable to try any of the donuts I wanted to try since they were sold out. I would avoid going toward the end of their business day for this reason. The Thai iced tea I had was delicious and came in this cute and unique can. I was impressed with the presentation, but I feel like this gave less volume of bubble tea for the price compared to other boba tea places. I would say this is a must try place for date night dessert.

first time trying their corn dog. This one is all cheese style and OMG!! It is delicious and cheesy. Well blended not to salty. Definitely need to try all the other style. Also got a Matcha latte drink honestly I'm a sucker for unique container this definitely is one. Design and open like a soda can and the drink taste great too. The donut need no review it's absolutely tasty, chewy and soft. My nephew love these. It's great to see specialty shop like this in Bellingham. Even the decor and environment is chill and inviting. If you're local or in the area. Definitely stop in give this place a try and support them.

I was pretty hyped for these for a long time, and tonight, I finally decided it was time to cave into my sweet cravings. These weren't what I was expecting at all, but in a good way. The sweetness and taste are both very subtle, so if you're looking for that "sugary fried dough" flavor that traditional donuts have, you probably won't be enthused about these. Even with the frosting/toppings, there's not really a huge presence, but I think I prefer my donuts this way. HOWEVER, if you like foods that are big on mouth feel---let me tell you, these are amazing in that department. The donuts are pleasantly crisp on the outside, and feather soft on the inside. It was hard to stop at just one! We didn't really stay long enough to hang out and enjoy much of the atmosphere, but my overall impression was that it was cute and quaint. The staff were also pretty friendly and welcomed us in. Overall, I'd say it's worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and want to experience something different. Me personally? I'll definitely be back again for more.
