Mochiido is an adorable spot. It's tucked away in the back of a food court but you instantly get drawn in with how cute their desserts are. I tried their Strawberry Mochi Donut and it was very fresh and delicious. It had a cute Hello Kitty white chocolate bow on top. Had to try one of their Sanrio cakes too. The Hello Kitty Cake looked cute but was just a standard Japanese Strawberry Shortcake. They filled a box with layers of whipped cream, vanilla cake and strawberries. Nothing too special. I came here for the Sanrio desserts, and sadly they no longer do Kuromi, my favorite character. The lady making the desserts and who helped me explained that it was because chocolate was not a very popular flavor, so unfortunately I never got to try. Regardless, I tried the Kuroppi matcha tiramisu and the ube tres leches. The matcha tiramisu was creamy and thick, with a strong matcha flavor and not very sweet (which is a plus for me.) The flan on the ube tres leches was good, and the cream was unique in that is wasn't too heavy or cloying, but I think I personally just don't like tres leches very much. I'd recommend giving it a try if you do like that kind of cake! read more

I ordered four fatcarons, but three were stale and felt like I was biting into a hard cookie versus that key macaron shell. Ever since Afternoon in Flushing closed, I've been looking for my mochi donut fix. And Mochiido may be it! I went on a Saturday night and it's hidden in the back of the mini food court where Flushing Ice Cream Factory and YiFang Tea used to be. There was no line, but a lot of donuts were already sold out, but luckily the one I wanted wasn't: s'mores! The donut itself was delicious, I personally just realized that I don't like torched marshmallows, lol. I also got the Nutella macaron, which comes frozen by the way, but I didn't really love it. The cream on the macaron was just meh, so I think it's a very pretty item, but not one I'm itching to try again. For both I paid $7.50. This is a very unassuming little stand in the depths of an alley in Queens. There is a little counter where one worker is. Tried the sesame and matcha donuts and both were delicious! Perfectly pillowy and chewy, very tasty. I did like the sesame one a little better. I would definitely stop back here for a mochi donut if I am every in town. Mochiido is a newly opened mochi donut, k-dogs and "fatcaron" shop located inside the Foodie Town food court. The mochi donut and Korean hot dog craze is still going strong as evident with the plethora of new shops opening in Queens. Luckily for me, I happen to love mochi donuts and just had to try the ones here. I ordered four donuts: Ubelicious, Ying & Yang Oreo, Camp Fire s'mores and Rise & Shine Cereal. The donuts were really good; light, bouncy with a slight chew. The Camp Fire s'mores were my favorite. It was surprisingly not too sweet. I loved the use of dark chocolate and the scorched marshmallow topping. My least favorite was the Rise & Shine Cereal as it was way to sweet for me. The Ubelicious did not have enough of the taro flavor but was still tasty. I felt the same with the Ying & Yang donut; I didn't really taste the Oreo but still a tasty nice donut. I'm not sure what a "fatcaron" is as they didn't have that on the menu yet. The staff said they will debut this soon. I came into the food court for popcorn chicken but ended up leaving with the most adorable macarons! They're located at the back of a small food court, pretty inconspicuous until you walk up and see all the cute items in their display. Everything looked super cute and I had a hard time deciding what to get. They had giant cookies, mochi donuts, macarons, and these giant pastries. I ended up getting a box of 4 macarons (I chose all the animal ones). The seller packaged it up very nicely in a box, then wrapped it in a paper bag and finally put the package into a cute bag. Don't bother going to this donut place located at Roosevelt Avenue. They were not good donuts. I'm not a fan of the textures of them. Somehow they seem dense even though they're supposed to be soft. There wasn't a hint of blueberry flavor on the blueberry donut because it was too sweet and the matcha one was ok. I recommend you skip Mochiido and find a better donut place. read more
