I just came to Yelp to get their info to give to another friend and could not find the review I thought I had written - obviously, I never wrote it! Apologies BCb! Anyway, if you need movers, their prices are fair, their information was excellent. Money was tight and they told me the best way to stay in budget while moving things. I HIGHLY recommend them! They were so professional, hardworking and extremely careful with my things and where I moved into they asked me where I wanted things and I had them change a few things and they were so great about everything and the young guy Danny that was with them worked so hard and never took a rest and he did great because he's learning from the 2 best movers I have ever dealt with and on top of the hard work they all did they were extremely funny and made me laugh through it all and it made my experience all the more better. Also, they were the most honest guys on more than one occasion they handed me some change they found that I would have never missed. I would highly recommend them and never use anyone else. All I know is these guys worked harder than anyone I ever dealt with and they deserve to be well paid. Paula R.

When the moving company I'd booked flaked on me, I called Nova last-minute for an August 30-Sept 1 move date -- an extremely busy time in a big college town -- and they were not only able to accommodate, the movers were professional, reliable, communicative, careful, and kind from start to finish. My move was stressful (I was still packing, my senile landlady yelling at everybody...) and they were relaxed and diligently working throughout. Such a relief.

David (the owner) was…read morevery responsive and got in touch with me very quickly, I was a little worried because I have a sleeper sofa that is heavy and bulky and needed to go from a 1st floor to a 3rd floor in Somerville's houses with no elevators. . I'm going to split this review in 2 parts: getting a quote and setting move, actual move. GETTING A QUOTE: David was good at understanding my needs and providing with a quote, it's a local business so don't expect a sales person, confirmation emails or any of that. With that said, David is very professional and he made sure all my questions were answered. DAY OF THE MOVE: It didn't start well, David calls me at the agreed time to tell me that he is having issues with his driver and can't make it. I got worried BUT he was very friendly and apologetic, offering me a couple of options a) re schedule for next day or b) wait for his call and reschedule for later that day. I couldn't make it another day so we agreed on rescheduling for later that day. An hour before the rescheduled time David calls me to confirm and tells me that he'll send me 3 guys for the price of 2 to make up for the morning issue (Customer Service! I would give him 6 starts if I could) The crew showed up 30 minutes late but kept phone communication with me at all times (I knew why they were going to be late), professional and friendly guys. The move was tricky with large size furniture but those guys were very professional, made sure that nothing was damaged and tried to go as quickly as they could. At destination they managed to get my sleeper sofa and up to a 3rd floor (with narrow hallways) with no damage to the property or my sofa. I had a large IKEA dresser that sadly could not be brought up the stairs; AGAIN David and his guys did not leave me hanging, for a very small fee they disposed of the dresser. I hope I won't have to move in a long time but if I need to I'll call these guys again

My review should fall into two parts:…read more 1) I used this company by way of a friend's glowing recommendation in 2011 and I also used and loved them. Communication was great, they were timely, efficient, honest, and didn't complain. I thought they were the best movers and saved their contact info for when the time would come again nearly 9 years later. 2) Here we are in 2020 and I thought I was all set. We spoke twice about the details of the move and made a booking with the date/place/time to start. I thought there would be a follow-up call in the few days prior so I went ahead and left a voice mail and text to ask a few questions and confirm the details. No response. I started to get worried. The morning time slot came and went with no acknowledgement of a delay or cancel. Nothing. I want to reiterate that I went with this company again out of a sense of trust and to have a good repeat experience because moving is literally one of life's biggest stressors and I found someone I wanted to come back to. We had packed everything, boxed labeled, bubble wrapped, only to have radio silence. It's disappointing not to have any follow through and I'm left wondering what happened? Now I am also left scrambling to find a plan B. It is a shame to lose trust without a single explanation as to WHY.

I work for a mid-sized medical device company, and we had to move our entire finished goods warehouse in 3 weeks. Everything had to be inventoried, tagged, and wrapped before it could move. In addition, our inventory is fragile and temperature sensitive. Not only did the Brother Movers employees follow our strict guidelines right away the first time, but we actually had to slow them down; they got so far ahead of schedule we had to take time off in order to still have product through the end of the shipping run at the old warehouse. Everyone was courteous, patient, flexible, and helpful throughout the move. To put it simply, we could not have done this move successfully without Brother Movers. I know that if they met our needs for moving our warehouse, along with all of the quirks and complications that come with it, they'll do a great job with any residential or commercial move that you may need. One had a mask around his neck, and the rest of the two movers didn't have them. When I informed them politely that Cambridge has a law that requires you to wear face masks in public places, such as the apartment building lobby they were standing in, all three pulled out masks from their pockets. I said great, please put them on. They did and walked to the elevator, then took them off. WTF? I say nothing, and when we got to our apartment on the ninth floor, I asked them again to put them on, this time a little annoyed since they don't seem to be taking this seriously at all. They said they can't put them on since moving is cardio-intensive and putting on a mask will hinder their work. Well, excuse me, there's a f**king pandemic going on and they are refusing to wear a mask inside my home? I had no other choice but to turn a blind eye since we were leaving from Boston to California that day and we had no other choice. The "quality assurance" guy reached out to me when we got to California and I informed him about my displeasure on the mask situation, and then I NEVER heard back from him, until I told him I was going to write this review. He called and said "they did not want to be defamed on the internet". lol. My pet food storage box, trash can, and some small items had dents when they got here, so I won't comment on the moving services. But please don't consider Long Distance Movers, please, for your OWN HEALTH'S SAKE.
