Please avoid this place at all costs. I would say this place has zero professionalism. I'm actually…read moreshocked at all the higher reviews, although I will admit, they allowed me to go here, even though I have been going to the Big Brand tire in Concord for last several decades. I thought I would come in here to get a tire rotation, which is a free service that they provide four tires that are theirs. I normally go to the one in Concord like I mentioned, but I happened to be closer to this one, so I thought I would take advantage of it. I was told after the rotation that I would need to get a new tire because there was a nail that was unrepairable on one of the tires. No problem, I thought, since I had paid for an extended warranty on all the tires a few months ago. I was led to believe this would come at no cost to me as a result. I also had paid for a three-year alignment previously, which I thought was a good deal. So, Tim quoted me with an invoice that had $136 alignment on it, but he assured me that it will be taken care of because I had paid for the three year alignment. He also showed me that everything else would cost zero. After an hour and a half, I was up sold on an extended tire warranty, which didn't make sense to me since I thought that the warranty would cover every tire, but I figured it would be fine since Tim told me it would cost $41. Then when they were about to give me the keys, I was charged $140 for services. I thought we were all included in the warranty, not to mention, I was quoted at zero. I was charged for taxes on the new tire (even though the tire was zero dollars), mounting and balancing, alignment, a tire recycling fee, and other labor costs. The extended tire warranty was quoted at $62 even though I was told it would be $41. In my mind, I still couldn't make heads nor tails of all of these things. I even questioned them about it. But I had an appointment elsewhere in the East Bay and needed to be on the road and ended up agreeing to paying $140 for a zero dollar service. I would've been happy paying $41 for the tire warranty but lo and behold I paid three times that. Don't come to this place unless you're prepared to get screwed. I recommend big brand tire in Concord if you must go to big brand at all - at least that place I had been going to for years and I know I could have counted on the folks there and could have trusted them not to charge me extra and not to lie to me about a zero cost service. Heck, go to any other tire place if you have to stay in Dublin or Pleasanton. Some tire places treat you like family. This one treated me like a couple of dollar signs.

I don't think it was more than an hour and he called me back. He advised the problem was the key. It was an aftermarket key so didn't have the "chip" inside to disarm the stock alarm so it was locking out the engine. Upon my return with the correct key, it started and is working now. I know he took time from his schedule to look at it, but Kevin did not charge me for that time. Kevin, you have restored my faith in humanity. Thank you for your kindness. I will be recommending this shop to all my friends and family. KUDOS - to you guys!!!

They were able to identify the screw in my tire when another place, which I will leave unnamed, couldn't. They were also able to deal with my tire lock without the key (my family has two of the same type of cars and the key was with the other car). They worked around the lock at one visit, and broke it off (with my permission) on another in order to get me back in the road in a timely fashion. The time when they worked around the lock was in 2024, and I paid about $45. The time when they had to break the lock was a year later and I paid about $75. I especially appreciate their professionalism and ability to not talk down to female customers, which sadly a lot of auto shops still do, even in 2025. Definitely recommend!

So, I started researching for positively reviewed auto repair shops near my area. And so I came across Pleasanton Auto Repair. I called ahead to see if I would need to make any appointment, and the guy who helped me (his name was Jim) was pretty nice and he told me to come anytime. So I came around noon/my lunch break hour. The guy was friendly and was upfront when asked about the pricing, which I really appreciated. Many other shops would try not to be so upfront about their fees but only to reveal a high cost at the end, but not Pleasanton Auto Repair. And what Jim did was helpful because then I was able to better budget for this service. So after his inspection, it turned out that my car battery was a goner and he said for my car the cost of a new battery was $142, and the cost of the service was $70 per half an hour. I was happy with how clear Jim was with me about his rates, so there was no hidden fees or anything! And I think his rate was reasonable. Then, I dropped my car off, gave him my cell #, went home and did my thing. And within an hour he called me to give me an update (thank you!) so I didn't have to be left hanging wondering how his progress was. Then, within another hour he called me to tell me the car was ready. It was quick. Then, I went back there, paid, and he handed over the car key back to me, and that was it. It was painless and the guy provided a great customer service. Also, the guy was super honest too. For the amount of time he charged for replacing the battery, he could've easily charged me 0.5 hour, but he was honest and only charged me 0.3 hours which he said was the amount of time it really took him. I was really impressed. I was really satisfied with his work today. And I will certainly go back to this auto repair shop if I ever need more car services.
