Oh my gosh. I am so beyond happy with the new screens for my apartment in Pacific Beach that Mobile Speed Screens did for me about a month ago. They were extremely helpful on the phone, very realistic about my expectations and hopes; and they were quick to get the job turned around. What's awesome is that the screens face out and you can just walk up to them, so I didn't even have to be home for them to do their work. And that was extremely convenient. My original screens were rusting and tore up. And you could see all the way through my apartment. If you were walking by the bathroom, you could see all of the bathroom, and you could see all the way down into the whole bedroom. Don't like that. I had "solar screens" installed. It was kind of something I wanted to try out to see if it would work... These are heavier mesh screens so you do lose a little bit of airflow, but that's OK for me. And they are a little bit darker than your normal screens. But once you're inside looking out through them, everything looks fine in my short view. The big benefit is the privacy that I'm getting because my living room window is right next to the first set of stairs and the main walkway to everybody's apartments. And privacy film on the windows is great, but if your windows are open, you can see right through most bug screens. Something that I noticed, is this only works basically during the day. Like when the sun's up in the sky. And it's bright outside. Once it gets darker or around sunset, and it's brighter inside the apartment that it is outside, you can see right through everything like nothing was different. So this definitely does not give you nighttime privacy. This is daytime privacy only. And I wouldn't change right behind these windows, this is mostly for like people just walking by and I'm sitting on the couch, and I don't want to make eye contact with them. I don't know, being single and living in a place that has a lot of foot traffic, I like having my privacy without losing my view or blocking the air. And these screens are doing exactly what I need them to. I have been referring people to Mobile Speed Screens for +5 years, but I haven't had a chance to experience their service for my own home. Great experience! I used Yelp to have a few vendors respond. Mobile Speed Screens was quick to reply, and after reading their reviews I knew I wanted to work with them. They walked me through my options over phone & text, dropped off sample colors, and when I was ready they got me on the schedule. I had them do a quick re-screen of a single patio slider, but the bigger project was a new front screen door. I had previously purchased a DIY screen door from Home Depot many years ago, and it never fit perfect. Mobile Speed Screens came out to measure and show me designs & colors for different doors that they could install to replace my existing door. Not only were the options way better than Home Depot & Lowes - the door was going to be custom fit for me, so I wasn't going to need any weather stripping, or shim-style adjustments. The result? The technician did extra effort to make sure our screen fit nicely with our crappy sliding door that a previous contractor messed up. Just put our home on the market so needed to replace 4screens in office, two large screen door sets in master bedroom & one set in TV room. Hans, the conscientious field tech from MSS, went above and beyond the call of duty to not only do what was contracted, but to reconfigure the screen doors on their tracks so each rolled as smoothly as new by the end of service. This meant thinking out of the box and engineering a flipping of the screens (he called me to sign off on his idea with full transparency & I was reluctant to go with his idea because it meant that screws would be exposed to the marine layer conditions in our neighborhood, possibly rusting due to our lack of awning facing the ocean). He cheerfully acknowledged my concerns and sourced a rare wrench in order to make it work PERFECTLY despite the extra time and head scratching involved. Hans also found the cause for why our screens weren't rolling smoothly: a rubber runner originally placed by manufacturer had become lodged between the screens & the track, so he removed them for us. He educated me on California's new regulations requiring tabs on screens to allow for their easy removal, (our office screen tabs were long ago pulled off by errant window washers)... I used mobile speed screens for my previous house and called them up again when I moved into my new house. I have 3 cats so it was important for me to have screens that were scratch proof for peace of mind. When I called I was put through voicemail, but Carol got back to me within a day through text and discussed pricing for our 3 sliding doors and 9 windows. It was so easy to schedule an appointment and they had a technician come out the coming week. For the pet screen it was between $50-$60 each depending on size. Door screens rescreened with pet mesh were $125 each. Because the white frames were backordered, Paul redid our sliding doors first within a few hours and they looked awesome and I was so happy to not have clunky sliding screens anymore. He put us on the waitlist for the windows and said they would call back when there was sufficient stock. We're told it could be another 2-3 months so we weren't optimistic. However, to our surprise Carol called about a month later to notify us that they received new material and they could schedule us in as early as the next morning, so we went ahead and had them come. Paul did an amazing job again, respecting our home by wearing the shoe booties I gave him for walking around the house and finished in no time. Just want to say how pleased with Jordan's repair of my sliding screen door yesterday. He called ahead as requested and was right on time. He checked my door and had great trouble getting it to move, and we realized that someone had probably closed it way too aggressively and it just got seriously stuck.
