I had come here since it was an apple verified provider. I was charged a $65 diagnostic fee and was told I needed a new hard drive and was quoted $399. The only reason I came here was because the soonest appointment at Apple was days away and I needed my MacBook fixed ASAP for school. I ended up going to Apple a few days later to see if the hard drive was really the issue... turns out I didn't need a new hard drive and just needed to update the software. I went to Apple and got it fixed at NO COST! Lesson learned, don't go to other providers and stick to the authentic stores. read more

Exceptional service by Joel. Very knowledgeable techie. My iPhone X display was blacked out. I was worried about my data, tried Apple Genius Bar, they said it's an issue with logical board and I'll have to replace it and will loose all my data. I called up two other local shops as well but no luck. When I called this place, Joel said he will try, that gave me hope and I went straight in. He was able to successfully backup my data and fixed the display. This was his job and I paid for it., then what's exceptional ? Two things., first, he gave me hope that he will try his best to recover my data and second, even though he had a long commute back home, he stayed 20 mins more after shop closing to fix my issue so I could take my phone back with me in a single visit. read more

My wife has been here a few times over the years and has always been well taken care of and because of that I recommended this place to my boss when his work iPhone was acting up (Brandon took care of him just as well and got his phone working later that same day). So when I dropped my iPhone and the screen went dark I took it straight to Brandon. He explained a few options at the beginning of what might be going on with the device and said he would be calling back in about 90 minutes after he had a chance to work with my phone. Really disappointing. The store clerk instantly doubled the listed diagnostic fee of $65 to "um, like $125 or $145, I'm not sure" when hearing some water had spilled on the Mac. When I asked why the price doubled without it being listed anywhere, the manager yelled from the back then came out and aggressively spoke to me stating I could commit to "getting it fixed or not" and wouldn't address the doubled price. I broke my iPad screen and took it to this shop. He was really fast and called me within about 90 minutes to have me pick up my iPad with a new digitizer. The fist thing that I noticed AFTER I got home that the glass wasn't as secure as the original glass. I chalked that up to being a repair and no one would get it as clean as the factory. What I didn't realize was that when the digitizer is not secure it breaks REALLY easily. So the "new" screen broke within two weeks for no apparent reason. This time instead of paying someone $120 bucks to do a shoty job I decided to tackle the task myself. This is where I noticed the REAL problem! So after I removed the "new" digitizer the digitizer looked to be used, there is a distinct look (I discovered after I bought by own digitizer) to the adhesive tape that you are suppose to use on the digitizer. this digitizer had that distinct tape, but on top of that tape there were small 1" strips of clear double stick tape in about 7 locations it looked like he salvaged an old digitizer and then reused it. I would have been fine with that if he had disclosed it and done a proper repair. So the digitizer that he put on 1) sat higher than it was suppose to and 2) did not have full adhesion to the aluminum frame of the iPad so it was bound to break again. Now the other thing that I noticed when I brought the repaired device home was that it wasn't picking up wifi signals around my house very well. And it had almost lost entirely its ability to mirror to my apple TV. I chalked the apple tv part to my internet connection at that time of day and didn't think it had anything to do with the repair. Now I have read how sensitive the wifi antenna is and I will fully disclose That I MAY HAVE damaged it when I took the new digitizer off, but I was pretty careful around that area and don't think that it was me. There are 3 screws holes that hold the wifi antenna to the frame and 2 of the 3 had ripped out and though the antenna was in place, I feel that it was compromised. So I have since repaired my own device and it wasn't very hard as long as you follow the directions from the internet very closely. One site recommended that you also by a wifi antenna just in case. I would highly recommend doing that. It's cheap insurance. You hear that it takes a long time to get the digitizer off, but when someone does a crap repair its not too difficult. Plus it was a whole hell of a lot cheaper. It took me about 2 hours total and I even scraped off all the old adhesive to the aluminum frame (VERY CAREFULLY) so that the new digitized had good adhesion. I had an appointment to have my phone looked at, the screen was not responding on the edges. despite having made an appointment a head of time, I still had to wait over an hour before any employee acknowledged me or checked in with me. they finally looked at me and said "ok what's wrong" and looked at my phone for about 30 seconds and then stated I needed a new phone screen and it would be $150.00. fortunately I left and was able to get my screen replaced at batteries and bulbs in Dublin for just $90.00. So I took my ipad to another place and when they opened it up they had discovered a few things that mobile kangaroo did.. 1. Left out about 23 screws. 2. Apple uses a strip the top of the screen and when you replace a screen you are suppose to use the same one. Well they never put my old one on the new one which will cause problems. I believe there were a couple other things....but I am going to move on from this. I just hope no one else has this problem, because they made my ipad basically garbage..... They obviously don't know what they are doing and def don't know a thing about apple products! read more

I booked an appointment for 11:00am, I then received a text asking if I wanted pick up and delievery (Sameday service) I agreed... at 12:30 I started calling because no one came to pick up phone... I then receive information that i need to set up a 4 hour window for pick up.... again this is a same day service and at 12:30 they are telling me to set up a 4 hour window so they can pick up the phone... When I finally got a hold of "Harry" at the Pleasanton office he told me he would just refund my money, and when I asked for a corporate office number... Update on this: months and weeks passed and left with faulty phone and new screen also broken with dots and streaks, no refund after weeks of negotiation(they wanted me to turn over the new screen they installed before the refund) , then they actually offered me a replacement phone somehow, but that only turns out to be only as good as me removing the negative review from yelp. That only tells they are in business for great review not for customer satisfaction which is pretty sickening feeling. I should not have gone to this place in the first place as it ended up costing me 200$ for replacement, 150$ blue tooth headphone as they broke the head phone jack and most likely price of another phone as new screen already broke and in bad as I mentioned above. I wound up not getting my phone screen fixed here but the person I talked to was very nice and very honest. Because the Samsung Galaxy doesn't have different layers for the screen and LCD, you can't really just fix the screen like you can on an iPhone (would still pick my Samsung over and iPhone any day) so it would cost over $180 to repair vs my $150 deductible for insurance. So I just filed the claim with my carrier but I really appreciated the time he took to explain it and his honesty. I arrived with my Galaxy S3 with a cracked screen, and they did have an immediate solution. 30 minutes later I could have a new LCD and screen for ~$150 (plus tax) its a bit pricey, but considering that an insurance trade-in for AT&T was $119, I would be remiss for not even considering it. I am however going to do some more research... although its likely I'll return, as I mentioned the cost would likely go down with the purchase of new equipment, sure to arrive in the coming weeks. Update: I did decide to go and get my screen replaced, because I am impatient, but also because the touch-screen started acting up. Upon arrival I was greeted, (they remembered me..) and was informed that I could possibly wait again for their new tech to come in that would allow them to just replace the glass and not the LCD too. I declined, and was told an hour to then pick it up. I came back a little earlier, just to see if I could get the phone, and was told that they needed to also replace the case, but offered me a discount for the extra wait. When they completed the job (same day mind you) they offered to bring it to me. Although I declined (I was at work...) I still appreciate customer service like this. Hopefully I'll never need to use them again, but if I do I know where I'm going for phone support. read more

I've had iPhones for the last 5 years and today, for the first time, I dropped mine. Face down on the concrete. The glass was a mess. The drop happened at 4:30pm on a Saturday. I called Mobile Kangaroo at 4:45, brought it in to them at 5:00 and it was done by 5:45. So something that could have been an enormous pain to deal with was hassle free. With the Yelp deal it came to $54. Just for comparison, I had also called the place (not the Apple store) within the Stoneridge Mall. They said they had a "special price for Yelp customers." But that price was $70. Not to mention dealing with the mall parking lot on a weekend. Hopefully I won't have to be back at Mobile Kangaroo, but if I do have any more i-disasters, I'll be taking it to them. read more

I brought my MacBook in for water damage on Friday afternoon, paid the fee for water damage and was told i would get a call the next day with an update on my computer status. I waited over 24 hours with no call so I decided to contact them myself. The guy who picked up the phone didn't know about my computer's status so he said he would speak to the technician and call me back in 5-10 minutes. After 20 minutes I called him back and he picked up, asked for another 10 minutes then called me back over 30 minutes after my initial call. He told me that the earliest I would get an update on my computer would be on Monday, as the technician had not run a diagnostic, in fact he had not even started working on my laptop. I would strongly recommend going directly to Apple, or to a different authorized repair shop with a faster and more responsive team. read more

Repaired my Kindle!!! I broke the screen on my older-model but beloved Kindle Keyboard. Mobile Kangaroo was the only business in the area willing to take a crack at repairing it. I received an estimate of 10 days because the part had to be ordered. My Kindle was ready when promised, the price was very reasonable, and it works like new again. Went to Mobile Kangaroo to get a new iPhone battery after visiting Best Buy who said they wanted to take my phone away for 24 to 48 hours to fit one. Not going to happen! Called Mobile Kangaroo and they told me that it takes two weeks to get the battery from Apple (like Best Buy) but they will fit it in half an hour. Much better! So I went to order my battery and get it organised. Joel ran diagnostics on my phone, showed me how to limit battery use and told me that my battery is fine right now. However, I should return in December, before the special price on batteries goes away, to get the max value out of the new battery. Great advice, super service and since he has altered my settings my battery life will be better from now on. See you in December! read more

Overall, I was underwhelmed with laxity of service. Having an Apple Authorized repair phone service is not enough for complete satisfaction. While the repair and service time were satisfactory, my phone was returned filthy with smudges likened to a child handling while playing a mobile game. DISHONEST business. I made an appointment with Apple to get my phone screen fixed for $139. Upon paying, suddenly the price went up to $184. I asked how that could be when this is on the Apple website and through Apple for $139. This is mobile kangaroos price NOT just a sales tax added on. My response, either honor the $139 I was told OR give me my phone and I will take my business elsewhere. The man working the counter did not like my response and got a little angry, trying to tell me they were the Apple certified retailer around HA I think not! I'll go to Apple themselves or Best Buy or Dublin and for $139. There's plenty of other certified Apple techs around. I just wanted to avoid the mall rush but I'd rather pay for an honest service. I recommend avoiding this place. I've also reported them to Apple who said themselves this is not right and will look into it. read more

This place is awesome. I took my coworker's child's tablet in because it wouldn't charge and they replaced the charging port for free. Very professional and courteous. I only wish I would have taken my iPad in there instead of taking it elsewhere. I took it to the other place to repair the screen and the battery had swelled so they had to replace the battery as well. Paid and got it home and it wouldn't charge. Took it back to get the battery replaced and again got it home and it wouldn't charge. Another bad battery. They ended up having my iPad for almost a month trying to figure out what was wrong with it. I finally got it back and the home button is all loose.
