I say "I want 3 movers" - to anyone reading this, they would think 3 movers is faster and you avoid a trip fee. Especially someone like me who has a small move. First, I was really excited to have them move me originally (they are minority-owned, women-owned, LGBT-friendly, etc.), BUT trying to get a response back is like watching paint dry - it takes forever!! This is reflected in other feedback you see as well. I was waiting for them to send me an updated quote, which they said they would provide (or respond) within 1 day. 3 days later I get a response... So, I decide to call their line, which they only sometimes answer. Second, so I am now onto my scheduled week of moving and now the owner and the customer service representative (word for word, as if this is a standard talking point) say "we've never had a customer assume the trip fee is waived."... then went on to talk about competitive rates, etc... To anyone reading this, does this not sound like they are making ME seem stupid for even thinking that the trip fee was waived because THEY did not include the trip fee in the 3-mover quote? I think so. Would NOT recommend based solely on the poor customer service, confusing fees (which I told them upfront I wanted to avoid), and lack of truly caring about its potential customers - perhaps that's why you have to have such "competitive prices".

Then Crickets I sent a reply saying I needed it sooner then later NOTHING a few days later sent another reply saying I was disapointed they didnt get back to me. NOTHING BACK Obviously something has changed the great customer service went to crap and because I work in the CS Industry I cant with a good heart recommend them anymore. Lesson learned, a 5 second e mail could of avoid a loss of a customer and the clients I was sending when asked if I knew of any movers. We've become a return customer over the past years. It's hard to say that small-staff, home town…read moremovers match the quality of the large over-the-road firms, but this company does. Being a local enterprise, they are attentive, easy to reach and do business with, adhere to their quote (an unusual event these days) and willingly finish as early as the job ends (also sometimes an unusual event with other firms). All in all, with a customer experience doing business with them that goes back to 2002, these are honest, good people to do business with. A move is stressful enough. Don't complicate it more than necessary.

They claimed they didn't know about the stairs or location when they quoted my husband (there were 5 stairs) and they did, my husband provided that information. We had no idication there would be a price increase in the quote if we waited. My husband made it clear we were not looking for the piano to be moved right away. Be warned, they mentioned their prices fluctuate through out the year. So apparently you have to keep getting quotes regularly in order to get an accurate idea of cost. It's strange to me they would site the price increase because, their "prices flucatuate throughout the year" for the first reason for the change in quote and then tell me it was also becuase of the amount of the stairs and location (even though they had that information to begin with). The communication/customer service I received via text message was extremely poor. When someone is moving a piano and will be working with my parents, customer service is key. I can't afford to gamble with their level of service, especially if my first interatctions were below reasonable standards. A company that can't take accountablity for their quote process and places the blame back on the customer makes no sense to me.

When I questioned them, they assured me it wouldn't be a problem as long as the POD was packed that same day. That turned out to be completely wrong. When the PODs were opened four months later, every single piece of furniture was damaged -- every piece. To make matters worse, after the job was done, I needed a receipt for my employer, and it took weeks of texting and following up with the owner to finally get one. The whole process felt unprofessional and sketchy. I've worked with several moving companies during this relocation, and Minuteman Movers was the only one that gave me such an unreliable and frustrating experience. They were AMAZING while facilitating our move this summer. They were quick to respond, answered all of our questions, gave us a fair quote, showed up on time (early!), and were very friendly. Our movers were careful and efficient. We had 4 movers, but one of them got lost somehow on the way to our new house and we ended up with only 3 movers for most of the time. It was no big deal, they still finished under time and only charged us for the 3 movers instead of 4. The guys were respectful about taking their shoes off on carpet and being careful around walls / doors / corners. None of our belongings were damaged. The other amazing thing is they were able to reschedule our move last minute when both my husband and I came down with COVID 2 days before our move (and I was 30 weeks pregnant). We were extremely sick and I was panicking about trying to make the move happen, but luckily Mint had a time slot open up the following week and they changed our reservation, no problem. I was so incredibly grateful! I would hire Mint again in a heartbeat! And I have already recommended them to some friends. Great job, guys!
