What a great crew! Easy to work with. Prompt, courteous service over the phone. We used them during non-peak times on a Wednesday (Dec 9th). They showed up on time and ready to work. The team was very quick, easy to talk to, and very concerned with the details of our move. It made our last move one of the easiest things we've done in our search for a new home. We've become a return customer over the past years. It's hard to say that small-staff, home town movers match the quality of the large over-the-road firms, but this company does. Being a local enterprise, they are attentive, easy to reach and do business with, adhere to their quote (an unusual event these days) and willingly finish as early as the job ends (also sometimes an unusual event with other firms). All in all, with a customer experience doing business with them that goes back to 2002, these are honest, good people to do business with. A move is stressful enough. Moved with this company 4 times over last 7 years. The fist 3 times were excellent. The last time was HORRIBLE (December 27, 2022). I was quoted a price and literally charged double. The workers spent a half hour taking a headboard off the frame stating that it couldn't be removed. My daughter walked up to them and proceeded to remove screws showing them how to do it. (She does not work for this company.) I had all cartons and boxes on lower level in garage so they didn't have to go up and down stairs carrying items. We used A-1 to move from a large home to a much smaller house in February. A winter moving job in Minnesota isn't easy and the narrow snowy streets in St. Paul don't help but that didn't slow A-1 movers down. The crew was polite and efficient and we were very pleased with the service they provided. They were careful with our things and took care to keep our floors clean in both houses - not always such an easy thing to do in the snow! I'm NOT happy with these "PROFESSIONALS"!!! I am a developmentally disabled individual who is black Asian and homosexual and they were very blatantly disrespectful to me!!! They were one, rude to me by not letting me zip up my stuff and complain about me being very slow in the process and it's not my fault because like I said I am a disabled individual and I also have scoliosis which naturally makes me slower, and the whole time they were doing nothing but complaining on how slow I was being and then the Mexican one who's name is Carlos got a phone call was complaining to whoever was on the phone in Spanish about how slow I was being and threw the insult that I'm a "fat faggot" in there as well!!! Then the following Monday when I proceeded to call on actual business hours to report the over $900 worth of my stuff missing and or damaged his partner who is WHITE probably proceeded to very blatantly disrespectfully verbally attacked me on the phone saying "that's your fuckin' problem we're not gonna do anything about it" and gave of a VERY BLATANT go to hell we don't care about you kind of an attitude, and that's not good customer service they should not be running their business like that!!! If I could I would give them negative stars I WOULD IN A HEARTBEAT for the DISGUSTING display of SHEER UTTER disrespect towards people who are less fortunate than them!!!!! read more

Please beware if you are ever considering using this company for your move. They under estimate your quote, charge you more time than they are physically there or driving and then when you try to bring this to their attention, they tell you that if you don't pay the full bill including the documented overages, they will hold your belongings and sell them in an auction. The manager of this organization lacks any sort of integrity and is a bully. He screamed at me and my husband and called us names. This company is amazing! They worked so hard, they showed up right on time and ended up being 2 1/2 hours less than my original quote! Or was POURING rain and you would not think it effected then at all! They just kept going! They were efficient, they were careful of my items, and they were kind! I do NOT recommend this moving company to anyone!!! I used them to move my things out of my town home and into a storage facility. I found 3/4 of my breakable items broken. Several of the broken items have been in my family for years and can NOT be replaced. They also broke a mirror when they came to pick up my things and set it on the side of my town home so I didn't notice it until after they left. The owner we dealt with for payment was extremely rude and condescending. He kept calling the moving men and telling them to hurry up. When I discovered my broken items and called one of the owners he said they didn't brake anything and hung up on me. Never use this company. We have used this moving company for two moves now and both experiences have been AMAZING. The guys are super friendly and helpful, they work super fast too! We ended up paying less than what we were originally quoted! I called a couple local movers and the costumer service here is unbeatable! I was a loyal customer to what was Sorenson's Apartment Movers in Hopkins. I don't know if this company merged with them, or what. But I hired them to move my mother yesterday, and had the worst experience in that it was much longer and more expensive than it needed to be. The truck broke down at the move location, and had to be towed 30 miles. They did not charge me for that time, but it still seems a bit surreal that a 2 man crew took 7 hours to load and unload a 1 BR apartment. I could have had 3 men, I suppose, but I still think the bill suffered because of the truck breaking down. I gave 2 stars because of my past with Sorenson's, but yesterday's experience will make me use another company next time. The crew was nice (Kody was highly personable), but my $903 bill wasn't worth it. I'm glad it's over, but so is my relationship with this company. read more

This company is comprised of poor quality service employees. Not only are the drivers disrespectful but the employees on location are disrespectful. It is unfortunate to witness and it is extremely unbecoming of a moving company, with whom you need to trust. However, if you are the type of person who does NOT CARE about being serviced by quality employees, than you have found yourself a fantastic company. A-1 Moving should re-evaluate their attitudes. WORST COMPANY EVER! WENT THROUGH OUR THINGS, DAMAGED FURNITURE, BROKE ITEMS, OVER CHARGED US, FRED THE "OWNER" was rude and disrespectful. Didn't care items were opened, broken, damaged, missing, and whe. I asked him, "how to resolve it" he called the police on us..for? Still not sure. My guess was because he didn't want to explain why he didn't have a contract for us, over charged us, why our items were gone through and things were broken, missing etc. He was sitting with his feet up watching the game in the back and was playing someone else's virtual golf game right next to us from someone else's crate! Nice of them to help themselves to others belongings. Then leave it to them to "prove" what they did. Even their movers and employees complained to me while loading items from my home AND while we loaded from their warehouse behind his back. Pretty sad. Those guys are just doing what they're told is my guess. I hope this saves at least 1 person from having their belongings taken, damaged and rummaged through! read more
