From outside, you can smell the delicious scents of barbeque, luring you in to get a taste of the smokey goodness. I found myself following my nose inside on my most recent trip to Moab. The ordering process was quick and the food came out even faster! I can't say that it's the BEST barbeque I've ever had, but it was decent. My wife said that the bread/banana pudding (I forget which) was not very good-maybe something that came out of a can. I appreciate that they have both indoor and outdoor seating and everything was clean. I tried to bus my table and a cheerful staff member came out and took my tray from me. Great spot to grab some bbq! After spending a long morning in canyonlands, we were starving and this place hit the spot. They have a decent variety on the menu, if you don't want a bbq platter or sandwich they also have salads, bowls, tacos and a few side/snack options. We both went with two meat platters. I tried the pulled pork and the tri tip, with coleslaw and potato salad for my sides. My partner tried the pulled chicken and brisket with double Mac n cheese. Platters also come with hush puppies. I really enjoyed the tri tip, and the pulled pork was nice as well. My partner favored the brisket. All of our sides were good and hit the spot. Portion sizes were large, so I definitely could have just done a one meat platter and still probably wouldn't have been able to finish it. For sauces, they brought some to our table and I tried the house bbq, mustard bbq, North Carolina vinegar, and Alabama white. I mostly used the house bbq but enjoyed trying them all. Something for everyone. There is indoor and outdoor seating, we enjoyed the patio area. They also have a bar section if that is more your speed. We recently went to Moab for 5 days annnnddddddd ended up eating here for 4 of yhose days lol. I gotta say the hish puppies, the ribs, and those margaritas were amazing! We arrived at opening time (11:30) and they were not open. Many were waiting. They finally opened their doors at 11:45. We got the 3 meat platter to include ribs, brisket and pulled pork. All the meat was incredibly tender and flavorful! Our favorite was the brisket. My son got the Mac n cheese bowl with pork and it was really good as well. Spitfire was located directly behind our hotel so we gave them a try for dinner. The restaurant has a fun industrial type of look. The staff were helpful but not the friendliest people we've come across in Moab. We ordered the pimento cheese appetizer which came with tomato jam, crisps and carrots and celery. I had the half slab of ribs platter and my husband had the platter with two meats - sausage and brisket. My sides were the mac n cheese and cole slaw. Platters also come with hush puppies, pickles and pickled onion. I found the menu to sound better than the food was. The hush puppies were dry inside and the ribs were very fatty. On a roadtrip and walked the Arches then stayed overnight in Moab. Walked around the town and found this place for dinner. We found this place on Yelp, and called ahead of time to make sure it was dog friendly. It totally is and they even have doggy bowls for our furry family members. *Roberto* was amazing and we hope he gets a raise. He went above & beyond to help out one of our kids that got hurt in their bathroom. The cashier was also great as he got a bag of ice for our daughter, but I didn't catch his name. I tipped 20% because that's my standard. I wish I hadn't. Our food was brought out and we never got checked on again until she came to bus our table. I was surprised to see her badge said she was the manager. I went to order and Isabele stared at me like I had two heads and didn't say a word. I finally just started my order. Midway through she stared off into space and didn't get the rest of the order. Then she began talking to someone else. I had to redirect her to the fact that I was ordering. While we were eating, I looked up and she was at the counter eating from a bowl. I teach food handler classes. That's a huge "don't do this" The food was mostly good but don't order the potato salad. The pulled chicken sandwich was good with the slaw added on it (I got the slaw on the side). The pulled pork was also good and there are several different sauces on the table so you can add as little or as much as you want! The staff was super friendly and answered all my picky questions about the food. We could watch them cook the chickens in a huge rotisserie in the side of the restaurant. I really wish the noise from the bar wasn't so loud. There was music from the bar and music from the restaurant that clashed and were noisy! I'm from California so good BBQ is really hard to find. This was some of the best BBQ meat I have ever had. The service is quick with a walk up counter but it's great. The outdoor seating area is well maintained and there is a nice bar area for adults that we didn't go in to, but looked nice from outside. The sides left a bit to be desired, but if I were to travel back to Moab, I would definitely eat here again. read more
