We shared hush puppies, a fresh and flavorful salad, and a variety of oysters--everything was delicious. My husband ordered a coffee-flavored beer and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was, and I enjoyed a perfectly made lemon drop. Such a great spot to relax and refuel. We'll definitely stop by again next time we're in Omaha!

Plank has, unfortunately, announced they will be closing at the end of 2025, and while I did enjoy…read moresome of their food offerings, I can't say I'm super surprised. They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

It was every bit as good as I had hoped. Shuck's knows seafood--and they know how to make dining fun. From their lively, engaging servers to their inviting atmosphere and unique menu offerings, everything comes together to create a memorable experience. Most importantly, the quality of the food consistently shines through. My wife and I ordered the Deep South Risotto, a delicious combination of fresh shrimp, Andouille sausage, and green beans tossed in a spicy, creamy risotto. We also enjoyed the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl, featuring perfectly cooked teriyaki-glazed salmon served over a blend of brown rice and red quinoa with tender sautéed broccoli. Paired with Shuck's famously ice-cold draft beer, these excellent entrées made for the perfect lunch before heading over to Big Ten Baseball at Charles Schwab Field Omaha. If you're visiting Omaha and find yourself downtown, make time for Shuck's Fish House & Oyster Bar. Great seafood, great atmosphere, and great service--you won't be disappointed.

Dedicated parking allows for easy access. Imagine my surprise, arriving early to help with event set up and discussing the layouts of the room I encountered an exceptionally cranky and dismissive person. It was made crystal clear to me that we could not move a table four feet to allow for registration of the door to the private room. I was even more surprised when I found out that this person was one of the owners! A couple of employees that overheard the conversation confided that this is typical behavior and they don't really pay much attention to it. I have news, I don't get paid to be there, I pay to be there. Shortly thereafter this fun chat, I had the opportunity to meet the manager, who indicated that if they had known that the room was going to be used for the type of event we had that they never would've let it be used, even though it was a slow day in the middle of the week. WOW! Fortunately, two of the wait staff were exceptionally helpful and made great suggestions that helped us to facilitate an event that required some flexibility. Honestly, if it hadn't been for the two folks helping us out in the room, I don't know how we would've made it through the evening - very stressful. The pizzas were typical and basic ones were reasonably priced, as were hors d'oeuvres. Soft drinks were rather expensive at $3.50/person. Overall, my takeaway is that I will never, ever bring my business to this operation again until there is a change of management and ownership. I think it's time for a change.

I had the Cubano sandwich, which was good overall, especially the smoky meat, but I think the coarse-ground mustard overpowered the flavours a bit and dulled the smokiness a bit. A plain yellow mustard might balance the sandwich better and let the smokiness shine through more. The sweet potato fries, however, were excellent. My wife Laura ordered Emily's Salad, which was pleasant and fresh, though we both thought it could have benefited from a little crunch--maybe some seeds or nuts added in. Our daughter Alex had the birria tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos were tasty, though a little on the small side, but the carne asada fries were fantastic. Umai! (I am a Rengoku fan; if you know, you know.) I highly recommend it. Our other daughter, Sam, ordered the birria grilled cheese and elote fries, and both were really good. Her cherryade was especially refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, though the dining area and patio felt a bit bare. A few plants outside and inside would really warm the place up and give it more character. The music was pretty good with indie hits in there. I also tried the Old Fashioned. It was definitely strong, which I appreciated, but it felt like it was missing a touch of sweetness or something to round it out. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and I'd absolutely go back and try more on the menu. Their waitstaff was top-notch and really were on their game. The restaurant has good ingredients and solid ideas--it just feels like a few flavour balances could be dialed in a little more.

We sat at the bar and Connor took great care of us. He was funny, attentive, and made one of the best Moscow Mules I've had in a long time. For dinner, my boyfriend ordered the pork ribeye and I went with the pistachio and parmesan crusted salmon. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. The pork was tender and flavorful, and the salmon had a great crust without overpowering the fish. My favorite part may have been the sweet pea and lemon risotto. It was soooooo creamy and packed with flavor. Every bite was better than the last. The vegetables and accompaniments on both plates were thoughtful and well prepared. I can't stop thinking about the Brussels sprouts. They were so good I'd go back just to order a plate of those. Oh, and don't let me forget about the sliced French bread with the olive oil and garlic balsamic dipping sauce. Absolutely incredible.
