I made an appointment through their website portal. I received an email reminder the day before confirming my appointment for the next day. I arrived 3 minutes late to 5pm appointment but when I arrived, the people were confused to see me. They said "oh, we have to call the doctor to come from the other location." I asked how long that would take and the woman said 10 minutes. I said I'll run a quick errand and come back. When I got back, less than 5 minutes later, the same woman said that the doctor had left this location to go to the other location of Mott Street Optical. However, that doctor had already left for the day and I would need to go to their other location to be seen by another doctor. I asked her to cancel my appointment since I made the appointment for Centre St, not Mott St, and with a specific doctor. Then the woman said "oh, it's funny because I don't even see your appointment in the system," which I didn't believe since the system generated a reminder email for me. Not sure what went wrong here, but I ended up going to another place and was seen promptly by a skilled and educated doctor. read more

I came here twice to try to update my prescription and both times their doctor wasn't here. After going on the weekend the first time and being told to come back on a weekday due to no doctors around, I came back on a Thursday afternoon to the same problem. Walked into this place because of it's proximity to the train station. I left with a pair of glasses and my eye exam and never felt pressure to buy. Kevin was very helpful, found out that there is even a 3 month warranty on the prescription on the frames. I did went back to have my prescription adjusted since my eye sight is a bit unstable due to my lack of sleep and tiredness. There are lots of optical shops in Chinatown, but I chose this one because it's near my office and brand new. They have a good selection of frames (designer and non-designer), the staff will help you choose one that's flattering and the best shape for your prescription (the large square lenses I originally wanted wouldn't work with my steep prescription). Got a half year supply of contacts here and was really pleased! The staff was very friendly and straight forward. My ophthalmologist (not affiliated with the store) wrote me a prescription for my old brand of contact lenses but didn't tell me that the brand I had was discontinued. MK2 set me up with comparable contacts and gave me a free sample to wear to make sure they were comfortable. Also loved that they gave me a free bottle of contact solution. (This is for select styles but they have a wide array so you're bound to find a style you like along with a good assortment of colors.) 1)They have a so many choice of frames from regular one to unique ones. I was really happy to find the one after trying many different type of frames. 2)Their price range is really nice. Cheap but Good frames. About $150-$400. you see a lot of good ones at around $200!! 3)Especially, the lenses are almost half price of other optical shop in Manhattan. It will depend on your lens but most of all are less than $200. (It is not on sale!) 4)Their eye exam Dr. is good. She really respect the choice of customer. and also she found my eye desease although it was still in really early stage. It was critically nice. Their Dr. has professional mind. 5) The staff in shop were nice. Their support to find the good one for me was not so noisy but just kind. 6)The way to display is not so fashionable and not so organized. I first came here to do an eye exam because i needed to renew my dmv license and this was the closest spot in chinatown that was listed on the dmv site to go to. There was no wait time so i walked right in and got out of there in less than 10 min. The service was amazing, they knew what they were talking about and can help you get the best deal. The doc there was also very knowledgeable. She knew right away what my problem was and gave details of how i can try to improve my condition and when i really need to use my glasses. They don't hustle you to get a pair of glasses, but they do offer a more intimate service to get you a pair of glasses that will look good on you and something that will like. They were very honest with prices and will accept insurance. They advise how much my insurance will cover so i can stay in my budget. I went back the second time to get my glasses and they were able to offer a free eye exam so i can get my glasses. I was impress with the service so i referred them to friends and family. Staffs are very friendly and helpful in helping you decide which glasses best suits you. They were able to show me a variety that I could choose from. From there, I was able to choose my pair of glasses. It helped a lot because I am really indecisive. I had problems with my glasses afterwards but I would always make trips back to the store to get it fixed. They were always patient with me and told me to come back if anything bothered me.
