I recently make a purchase of eyeglass from the 18th Ave Eye Solutions store. The experience is really bad. I make a purchase before Thanksgiving and the store promised it will be ready on December 1st. I visited the store on Dec 1st but it said eyeglass hadn't arrived. Understandable since it's during Thanksgiving time. I called in 4 days later asking about the status and the sales said my eyeglass had arrived. I went there on Friday and for my surprise, the sales told me "my eyeglass did arrived 3 days ago but they don't have time to assemble it!!!!" So I asked them to do it right away but they argue no man force to do the assemble at the moment. At the end, I wait till Monday(7 days from what eye solution promise) to receive my eyeglass. It's really ridiculous from the "Eye Solution" services, lack of responsibility and not even felt sorry for wasting customer's time. The price of eyeglass is not cheap and there are many other eyeglass store in the neighborhood. I would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I figure it was time to check out the new eye glasses styles as it's been about 3yrs since I last came for eye exam and glasses. I was excited to see what was available. Came by on a Saturday morning with hubby. With their covid policy, you can pick whichever frames you like to be place in a tray and wait until the "fitting room" is available. They sanitizer after each person by wiping both the table and mirror and afterward they also sanitized the frames you try on. After awhile trying on frames, I finally decided on the frame I wanted and went to discuss pricing. It seems like Eye Solution no longer take my insurance. Good thing we didn't do the eye exam yet and discuss pricing first. Even tho, I ended up not getting glasses, they still provided wonderful service and went through different options if I decide to get it without the insurance. I'll be back should I have a new insurance. Now, the hunt to find somewhere that takes my insurance with good services and stylish frames. read more

This is my usual optical place. I come here for all my glasses and contact lenses. The employees here are very helpful and nice everytime I come here. Especially, if you aren't going to purchase anything there. I have on occasions stopped by here to have my glasses tighten. Yesterday, I came here to be fitted for contact lenses. My check up was scheduled at 4:30pm. However, I arrived an hour early. The moved my appointment earlier since the original client didn't appear on time. While I waited for them to find me trial contact lenses, I notice how friendly the employees are to any potential clients who walk in. There were these two preteens who dropped in to ask for glasses lenses cleaner. When they asked how much, I noticed how astonished the employee was. She said "it's free. Why would we charge you?" I've been coming here to check my eyes since I was a wee lass. In the last couple of years they've really stepped it up. They have all the state of the art technology that can tell you the state of your eye health with just a quick scan. There are snacks and free WiFi in the waiting area. After ~15 years of ordering contacts and glasses from them I went and got Lasik surgery. Despite knowing I won't be going back twice a year for eye exams they still offered me a comped pair of sunglasses for being so loyal to them. Now that's what I call service. read more

I had my eye exam here and I think everyone is very professional. However, this is one of the smaller ones so the sitting area is a little small and the snacks offered aren't as much as the other eye solutions locations I've been to. But if you do not mind that, everyone is very nice and professional. The optometrist explained everything before I went on to getting my eyes checked. I believe he was very thorough since he even asked if I was pregnant before putting something into my eye (because you know, it can still be absorbed into bodies too. even if it's very little. better safe than sorry!) Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good selection of glasses and a place to determine if their eye health is good. My boyfriend's only grief (since he usually has to wait for me everywhere - especially here since I'm blind and his vision is 20/20) was that the sitting area was a bit cramped and uncomfortable for his back. Honestly probably one of the best optical around the bensonhurst area. It's close to public transportation which is a plus. Me & My sister weren't covered under any Eyecare so we paid out of pocket. It was very reasonably priced if you just want a quick routine check up. The staff there are amazing and super friendly. One you enter you are greeted and they immediately ask you to go take your temperature on the right, once that's done they are ready to help you with anything you need. Unfortunately they don't do walk in's, you must make an appointment. But otherwise I had a great experience. In & out no wait time. read more

Came here on a weekend to take an eye exam and purchase new glasses. The staff was friendly and helpful. I told Tracy who helped me, what I was looking to do and she put In a reservation for me right away to see the optometrist. I also told her the type of glasses I was looking to buy and she suggested a few. Upon meeting the optometrist, he was super thorough and careful. He walked me through every step and showed me the images of my eye that he was looking it. This location is super nice, I'd say it's smaller than the location on 8th Avenue but the service and location is great and convenient. They reminded me of my missed appointment (years ago) several times (SORRY AGAIN!). There was also a misunderstanding regarding my insurance coverage; which resulted in some hostility. I reluctantly gave in to the charges; which was later corrected/refunded per request by my insurance case manager. I had to order special order some contacts and I was in a rush to receive them. The staff is freaking FANTASTIC. They updated me as promised, and the lady who has helped me in store and on the phone, remembered that I needed the contacts by a specific date. When she called me to let me know the contacts finally arrived, she must've heard the panic in my voice when I realized they were closing soon. I hate coming here. It's so convenient but the management style and the staff here do not compare to the Chinatown location. It's a shame because this location is so convenient. The staff here and in particular, the managers, do not even pretend to care about current customers. I've stopped by for a glasses adjustment before and the manager who was helping me would not even pay attention to fit. He kept looking over at a potential customer who was already talking to another employee. How can someone fix the nose pads and the arm fit if he doesn't even look at me? I was open to the idea of new frames rather than adjustments but I was turned off by his treatment. So I walked out. I had to go to the Chinatown location to get the adjustment fixed. Adjustments take at most 5 minutes. He couldn't even take 5 minutes to keep a current customer happy. I'm pretty sure he was a manager too because staff here were asking him for approval on orders. This is the only location that has ever messed up lenses for me. I have transitions on my lenses and they made my lenses tinted even away from UV light. It took a bit of talking before they admitted to the mistake and redid my lenses. I had to bring a piece of white paper and held my glasses up against it for them to even listen to me. Yeah, see that grey tint on my supposed to be clear lenses? Then guess what, the transitions coating flakes off on the new redone lenses a year later. After 5 years of getting new lenses with transitions every year from the Chinatown location, this is the only place that has ever just screwed it up. The glasses were a backup pair as well. So it wasn't from use. It was just defective. Years later, I'm back getting new lenses because the location is convenient. I pick up my glasses and no one bothers to fix the adjustment. No one even called me to tell me my glasses were ready. No one bothers to ask how my glasses are feeling and how the new lenses feel with my vision. Just nothing. It annoys me that I've been a customer for over 10 years and the staff just doesn't care. If you must get new glasses, go to the Chinatown location. It is grades higher than this location with more attentive staff. The person who adjusts glasses there is also a wizard. He can fix anything and make glasses seemingly weightless on your face. It's amazing. The Chinatown location felt a new pair of glasses with half rim frames were not up to par and they immediately offered to redo it for me, free of charge. That's customer service and that's how you retain customers. That is lacking here at the 18ave location. I will only be going to the Chinatown location from now. read more

I had a good experience with the staff. They were nice and friendly. The people smiled and they voices seemed joyful. They have a good selection of glasses. Rows and rows of glasses were displayed on the wall. The place seems so squeaky clean and I like the design of it. This may be a seasonal thing but sometimes you will see shiny silver tinsel hanged above the front door. I purchased a pair of glasses that I enjoy wearing from this establishment. It was comfortable wearing on my nose and ears, and I could see everything! Although, I see that they have snacks and fruit for their customers. I had never received or was told about the snacks and I could not see were the legendary box of snacks was. My family and I have been coming here for years. I don't need glasses but I come for eye exam and the inner eye test to check for macular degeneration. They have a nice waiting area, clean bathroom, and a nice selection of snacks and soft drinks in addition to free wifi. There is convenient paid parking around the corner and grocery shopping next door and around the corner if you are type A personality and need to do something while you wait for your family. One time my son was attacked near school (Brooklyn Tech) and lost his glasses. We went over there after school and they had a new pair on his face that evening so he could sooner forget about the incident. I am forever grateful for that kind act. read more

I visited here to get new glasses after having my old ones for 6 years! I do get my eyes checked annually but my prescription seems to have stabilized over time. The entire visit was smooth and painless (haha). I had insurance so my eye exam was free (YAY!). My optometrist was Dr. Ling and he checked my eyes thoroughly. They even have a new machine that allows them to check the back of the eye (macula, optic nerve etc.) Dr. Ling was meticulous, informative and took the time to explain the possibility of future eye surgery for me. Even though the eye exam part took a short time, the longer part of my visit was him fitting me for new glasses. The sales associates in the front were also very kind and accommodating, I forgot the name of the woman who helped me but she picked out a pair of pro-design denmark glasses that I absolutely LOVE. Oh yeah, before I forget! The best part of this location is their coffee bar in the back, as a yelper I'm no stranger to food and this really helped shape my experience. They had coffee, soda, juice, chips and cookies. I use to hate coming to the optometrist in fear that my prescription would become stronger, but Eye Solutions made me feel better about getting my eyes checked. read more

I've decided to dedicate my first Yelp review to this place after my recent experience buying new glasses. This store is the only place to get your glasses contacts or eye exam (55$)! My family and I been coming here forever and I didn't realize how good this place was until I tried some other places. Prices were lower here, styles were in season and on trend and there are always a huge range of brands - from insurance-claimable generics to luxury such as Chanel and Dior. But honestly, the one outstanding factor of this store is that service cannot be beat. Best team out there. They're friendly. One of the associates came over to me while I was trying on some frames because "I looked lonely". They're knowledgeable. One of the associates explained the science and history behind the new round shape glasses. Last but not least, they're so helpful! They ask the questions they need to in order to figure out which glasses you would like. And then they would go and pick out some frames for you to try on! This past month, I've gone to them four or five times for various things and each time, they made sure I was as happy as happy can be! Thank you! read more

I'm actually pretty sad I moved away from this neighborhood because I love this place. Been going there for years for my contacts, glasses, eye exams, and just asking questions. The staff is courteous, fluent in English, Chinese-Mandarin, and Chinese-Cantonese. Even during the times that I walk in and every staff is busy with a customer, they notice me and make an effort to at least greet me and see what i need help with. Also, walked in the other day with a pair of sunglasses I got from Sunglasses Hut that were NOT adjusted corrected by the salesgirl and the guy fixed it for me no problem no cost. read more

I decided to start coming here since my boyfriend comes here regularly to order his contacts and do any eye exams. It's a convenient place since it's near the train station, and if you're living in Brooklyn, this is the place to go for eye exams/glasses/contacts. The eye doctors are super friendly, speaking both English and Chinese. They educate you on your eyes and it's been an enjoyable experience with them. The staff working outside are just as great. They're always helpful, respectful, and kind with answering your questions. They take you through what you have to do in order to take care of your eyes. Since I was ordering new contacts, they taught me how to take care of them with a different eye solution product, making sure I understood well. They go further to make sure I have the right degrees for my contacts, and that they're comfortable enough for me instead of settling for what is alright and sending me off. Update: I updated the rating because the manager call us and fix the glasses for us and we were able to pick up our glasses within 3 days. My kids were happy to have their glasses right before the holiday so thank you. In addition, they refunded the amount we paid out of pocket and gave us a credit for future purchases which was a nice surprise. Just to note the eye solution store we went to was the one in Manhattan vs Brooklyn. **************************** Normally I don't post reviews much but wanted to let you know how disappointed my kids were today. This is the first time for my kids to get glasses. They used to have perfect vision but due to remote from home learning and all the screen time, both my kids end up needing glasses. I brought them here first because this has been my go-to eyewear store for the longest. My parents, in-law, and siblings come here so you can tell we are a big fan of this place. Anyway, after waiting for a month we thought it should be ready for pick up. I even call in advance during the weekday to check if the glasses were ready for pick-up. I had 6 pairs, one for me, one for my husband, and two for each of my kids. For my kids, I ordered a regular pair of glasses and a pair of sunglasses. The guys on the phone said yes, so I told my kids in advance we are making a trip to Chinatown to pick up their glasses on the weekend. My kids have been looking forward to picking up their glass as this is their first pair and they waited a month for it. Due to COVID environment, my kids normally hate going out because they need to wear their masks each time they go out and shower once they get home. It didn't help today was a cold day but they didn't mind if it meant they can pick up their glasses it will be worth the trip. However, this place is just way too busy which is not necessarily a bad thing given the current environment but they really need to work on consumer service. They take in every customer that comes in without fully taking care of the current customer so it becomes a bit chaotic. Even standing in line I got asked 3-4 times if I'm being helped and each time, I would say "yes" the guy is looking for my glasses. The guy who was helping me with my glasses at the same time was trying to help another customer who just walked in. They really should focus on one customer at a time. The reason why I pointed this out was because they somehow managed to mix up the prescription and glasses of my oldest and my youngest child and the sunglasses weren't even ready for pickup as the lenses haven't arrived yet and it been a month. When they said the sunglasses wasn't ready for pick, my kids were already sad but I told them don't worry the regular pair of glasses is ready. However, when we were trying it on, we noticed something was off. My youngest is very small so she got a pair of childlike glasses and you can tell right away the glass was incorrect. I told them I think they mixed up the glasses, but maybe it just them putting it in the wrong bin but nope they also messed up the prescription as well. My kids were super excited to pick up their glasses but extremely disappointed when they found out the glasses was not ready and we would need to wait another month because they need to order new lenses due to the mix-up. They totally ruin my kid's first experience with having glasses. Don't get me wrong I love this place been coming here for years and they have an awesome facility but they are just way too busy and need to focus on one customer at a time. I think going forward I need to find a new eyewear store that can dedicate servicing their customers one at a time. My past few experiences haven't been that great and seeing my kid's disappointment today made me think I should give another eyewear store a chance. read more

I told the person over the phone, yes, but may I first ask you if you accept my insurance plan". Upon stating my insurance I was told "Yes, we accept this insurance but the doctor is not in today". Service was good and the staff was friendly. They were able to fit me as a walk in I came back in an hour and half since it was busy. During my eye exam I noticed that the doctor didn't clean any of the equipment prior to telling me to put my face on it. I had to use 3 different equipments each which had direct contact to my eyes when I tried to shy away from the machines as i didn't want to get too close he kept shoving the machine closer to my face. I am not sure if they clean it before or after each client leaves the room but immediately after I left the room to consult with the staff in the front he called another client in the room. I developed a stye on my eye a few days later I have been here in the past and had eye exams in other stores and they've always cleaned the machinery in front of your face prior to telling the client to put their face on it. I also wanted to know what my prescription was but the woman who checked me out said she would give me my prescription after I placed an order. (I already paid for the contact lens exam as my insurance did not cover for it) I was originally going to order contact lens from them but I wanted to compare prices as to whether it'd be cheaper to order from the store or online and she would not give me my prescription. read more

I went to Eye Solutions to get contacts for the first time (settled on the one-day Acuvue three-month supply, since I would wear glasses most of the time). The staff was extremely welcoming and the process went really smooth, there were no long waiting periods. The first day, they have you visit the doctor for a fitting and teach you how to put it on. You later come back after trying several pairs on your own at home, keeping it on for increasing time periods each time. Susan, one of the licensed opticians was teaching me and my friend who was also getting contacts, how to put them on. She was super friendly and patient, since during the first try it was a bit difficult. I've been a customer at Eye Solutions in the past and they always give great customer service! read more

Came this is location the first time. I usually go to the manhattan's location which is always busy. This experience was comfortable and a mini coffee and bar where you can recharge while waiting your turn to see the doctor. Though I wasn't sure what kind of styles I wanted to try and where to start, Susan (one of the employees!) was super helpful and patient and offered a bunch of cute suggestions that fit my specific taste. At a point, I felt bad because I thought I'd tried on the whole store's supply of frames yet still could not decide on a single frame, but I never felt pressured to rush and make up my mind which made me very relaxed. The optometrist was also really friendly and efficient while examining my eyes, and I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. As I am currently not living in the city but on-campus at university, they were able to ship my new glasses on time and in great condition as promised. I am in love!!!
