Kenny is knowledgeable, efficient, professional, and good at what he does. He's unambiguously the most skilled optician when it comes to adjusting glasses that I've ever encountered. Indeed, I took my glasses to Eyes NYC down Fulton St and the owner was so amateur, unprofessional, salesy, and took so long to adjust my glasses that I told him they looked fine, just so I could leave and get out of there. I took them here to Fabulous Optical, Kenny spent five minutes with them, and they fit perfectly; truly night and day. I would add that not only is he very talented, but he respects the craft and takes the time to get it right. I've never seen anyone at this store rush someone or something. So, when I walked in, only the gentleman at the door who greeted me wore his mask. I had to ask staff to put their masks on TWICE. Even the technician. The office itself is clean until you get to the frames covered by insurance - the drawer was dingy and gross. The doctor was sweet and knowledgeable, but the staff inside? Made an appointment for my son to get new glasses and decided to book myself one as well seeing how it had been a few years since I had an eye exam and I had reason to believe i may actually need one. The staff over the phone was courteous, knowledgeable and answered all my questions. She even went as far as to tell me about their $50 single vision exam, frame and lens special for those without insurance. Fast forward to my appointment date. We were greeted warmly and made welcome. The show room/receptionist area is clean, organized and well stocked with beautiful frames and they even have a full length mirror, just in case you need to see the glasses with your whole outfit:). Had my eye exam and was told I actually needed glasses, bummer. The doctor was very detailed and explained everything, even walked me out at the end of the exam and had me set up with the assistant to select my very first pair of glasses. They have SO MANY options! Dior, Gucci, Ferragamo, you name it they have it. The entire process was seamless and easy. Our appointment times were respected. I really wanted to support this local business. I've never been to an optometrist where you have to stand up and lean over the counter for the measurements. I left feeling there wasn't any thoroughness or real care during my fitting. When my prescription glasses arrived, they were unusable. The technician realized my measurements were completely off. I had to wait another week for the glasses to be redone. These were the worst glasses I've ever had and I've had to wear them for a year until my insurance covered a new pair. For those, I went to another optometrist where I felt more assured. He helped me choose the best frames based on my lens thickness. He also measured the fit more than once. Like a clockwork, I make it my business to schedule an eye exam annually. This year, however, I branched away from Cohen's Fashion Optical and decided to support a local business. With a dozen reviews on Yelp, the majority of which were five stars, I chose Fabulous Optical. There are no walk-in appointments because the doctor is not in daily (at least not yet). Luckily, I snagged an appointment for the following week. Funny enough, hubby and I arrived super early (despite the rainy weather). We were greeted, instructed to complete the intake form, and have a seat. The receptionists (both the one who booked our appointments and the one who did the intake) were incredibly personable. It did not take long before we underwent our eye exam with Dr. Lev Mazniker. Short yet sweet. He was conversational and took the time to explain the health of my eyes. We later proceeded with trying on frames to make our final selection. I will admit that choosing a pair of frames is my least favorite part, but the saleswoman was on hand to tell us which shapes and styles worked best with our facial structure. She even shared the two payment options and worked out a discount since our insurance covered little to nothing. I misplaced my glasses and the manager was kind enough to use security footage to track its last location - without hesitation. Great eyewear selection and staff person fixed my bent frames for free, but I was disconcerted that one employee wore his mask under his chin. When I gestured to the sign on the door that they require masks for service and mentioned how I didn't want to expose my elderly mother, he still wouldn't put it on. Given the intimacy of trying on glasses, it seems reckless not to simply comply with the request to wear a mask indoors. It's too bad because I want some backup frames, but now I wouldn't feel going there until the pandemic is over. read more

I've been putting off getting a pair of glasses because I was having difficulty finding the right place to go to. At first I was going to settle for the place I got my eye exam (located in park slope), but the costumer service was just terrible. On a whim I decided to try a place in the area and I came upon this store. I was a little skeptical because I'm stickler for review numbers and only seeing 5 stars, BUT I can definitely say the costumer service was amazing! I had a guy help me, didn't catch his name but I'm assuming he's the manager. He was patient, very thorough and personable! I can be indecisive but he made the process much easier by recommending some frames in the style I preferred. It's not what you do it's how you do it. I never had prescription lenses before. The Fabulous folks were great, did thorough examinations and took their time helping me. All in all the first pair of progressives were not quite right. The folks there handled all with grace and professionalism. I had the same experience two other reviewers mentioned. The man greeting people at the door didn't wear his mask the entire time. Having full on conversations at full volume spreading his germs everywhere and no one was saying a thing to him. It was just so far out. A man there (who gave me owner/boss vibes) never said anything about it. Please get it together and stop putting people at risk. My recent experience with Fabulous Optical was excellent and A+. I'll definitely be going back and recommending them to everyone. I needed a new vision and contact lenses exam. Edward was very quick to respond via Yelp messaging, Mike at the store was very friendly, and Dr. Lewis was very thorough with the eye exam. I received excellent, clear communication and super friendly service from all 3 of them though the entire process which really sets them apart, kudos! Edward was even kind enough to submit the DMV eye exam form for my license renewal. The price for the eye exam and contact lenses prescription was very affordable. Greene, we found out 2 years later by coming here that they had given us both the wrong prescriptions. So glad we came here and finally got fitted for not only the right lenses (also turns out I have an astigmatism in both eyes), but having the right prescription as well.... so pleased with the service I ended up ordering lenses for my glasses through them as well. Was passing by and couldn't help notice the beautifully designed optical. I couldn't help it but to walk in and check out the place. Once I walked into the place I was immediately greeted by one of the employees. Besides the place looking presentable they have great customer service as well. I had no intention of buying anything but with the great service and amazing prices I was able to purchase myself tom ford sunglasses for the summer time. I was looking to find new glasses since it's been a while since I went to the eye doctor but when went here just to put in for an appointment alone was smooth sailing and the exam was just as better! I was able to get a new pair of glasses plus putting the lenses in glasses I already own. The staff was extremely helpful and made it very calming to be there! The staff is absolutely amazing and accommodating. I am a VERY picky and possible annoying customer. I dread picking out new glasses every time, but my trip here made it worthwhile. I needed a new prescription and glasses. I have tended to go to stores in Manhattan but since moving my office to Brooklyn and now rarely going into MN, I wanted to find a Brooklyn store. I walked past this store on a regular basis and finally decided to stop in for information. I was told when the doctor would be and scheduled to come back. The examination by the doctor was thorough and did not take very long. Then it only got better as I had to pick out frames. Mike was a dream to work with. He took time with helping to pick out frames. He explained in the different types of lens and the benefits of each. There was no pressure to purchase an expensive frame or lens. He laid out all of the different options with the costs and left it up the customer to make the final decision. My glasses were ready early. Mike took the time to make sure they were done perfectly. On pick up, I met Edward who Mike shared trained him. Both Mike and Edward know customer service and are great at what they do. I highly recommend this store and especially enjoyed being served by Mike. Cannot wait to refer my friends and family here read more
