Located at Blue Mountain Village. The patio has a fantastic view of blue mountain and a perfect place to people watch. The services is great, both our greeter and server were nice and friendly. The patio itself is lovely, the restaurant is old and dated. I can't say people come here for the food because the food is lacking. The fish and chips were just average, nothing special. My friend later that evening got sick after eating her meal. I didn't feel the greatest after as well. I think I would probably only come here for drinks. If I could give 0 stars I would, two trips in a row now the security staff has been insanely inappropriate and on a power trip. In 2025, dropping my 60 year old mothers ID on the floor and refusing to pick it up, in a weird power play stand off. Groping women on the dance floor, additionally. My understanding of security staff is that the goal should be de-escalation but every time there's an issue or problem they approach with a large level of force, often turning the situation into a significant issue. I watched them all be punched by men in the bar last year and last night was met with similar hostility, even hitting me aggressively with the door as we were leaving. This place looks awesome from the outside but don't let it's looks fool you, my partner and I asked for a table inside and we were stuck in a dark corner with slow service (waiter was very polite however). Paid $56 dollars for 2 miller lites, a vodka cranberry that tasted like the vodka was missing and 4 potato skins (costed $16 and menu didn't say how many came with an order). Oh and to top it off I used the men's washroom before leaving and found no actual toilets just 2 urinals, and one of them was almost overflowing with urine. Tempered expectations being in the Blue Mountain Village. To me, you can't be expecting anything but a serviceable meal in between skiing the slopes. Pretty much spot on. It was a good substantial burger and surprisingly not dry. Gord ordered a Classic Cheese Burger with havarti cheese and onion rings. He said it was a good burger. Decent place to grab a bite in the village. It's open late for live music and dancing but they stop serving food earlier in the night. We managed to squeak in right before this cutoff. It was a little confusing on where exactly to go to be seated. There wasn't a host inside the restaurant or on the patio. We actually wound up walking around the restaurant a few times until someone noticed us and offered us a seat. We actually shared a plate of fish and chips as a light dinner. The fish piece was a huge helping and served on a lot of fries. The fish was really crispy on the outside with the inside was flaky. The fries were also really good. We came here on a whim after spending awhile try to decide which restaurant to get. After sitting down and ordering our food, we noticed that this restaurant had a low rating so we were a little worried initially. However, we were all very happy with our orders (we were a party of 9), and the service was very warm and welcoming! We even had three young kids with us, and one said the wrap was the best one she had ever eaten. I got the beef dip, and the beef was so juicy and tender it fell apart, and once dipped in the gravy was perfect. The bun was perfectly toasted and the fries that came with it were seasoned really well and were almost like a wedge fry which was really good. I was recently at Blue Mountain for a friend's birthday and we went mini golfing in the middle of the say then right after we decided to stop somewhere to get some food and a drink. Avoid this place that masquerades as an Irish pub. It is a pig with lipstick on. Granted they serve Guinness $16.50 plus tax per pint as well as Harp lager. All Canadian beers on tap are 16oz and are around $10 per drink. Food is average at best based on the 11 meals we had and thoughts passed on to me I left half of my Philly cheesesteak as there was not a lot of meat in it and tasted dry, the chips were cooked in oil that should have been changed prior to the chips turning dark brown. This restaurant has security guards that take their jobs way, way too seriously. Think of Patrick Swayze in Roadhouse then double it. II swear one of the guards stood beside our table and cracked his neck to the left and right. If he put his left hand to his left side he would have touched our table. But the best is one of the guards was wearing a bulletproof vest. Yes a bulletproof vest. Seriously give this place a pass. Save your money and eat elsewhere. read more

Very disappointed with this joint considering it has a great spot in the Village. We were seated inside - which I will say it was a good choice during COVID times because there is only 2 tables inside for social distancing - but that is probably the only good thing about this place. Now, time to list the things that went/are wrong with this place: 1. We were seated with no greeting by a server 2. The server came 10 minutes after being seated to ask what we wanted to drink 3. Our food came 47 minutes later and the server just threw the plates down and slid them to each of us (4 of us the table 4. We ordered 4 fish and chips plates and only 1 plate came with 1 lemon wedge 5. The poutine had 4 shreds of cheese ... I don't know about you but I think the line cook should go back to culinary school if they think that's sufficient. 6. When the server dropped off our plates, he didn't ask if we need anything or didn't even realize we didn't have any utensils - I didn't know eating with our hands was a new trend. When we asked for cutlery from another server, she ran to another 3 servers looking for cutlery. When I looked around, I saw a server quickly grab some cutlery which were probably just out if the wash and she was wrapping them up in tissue to give to us ... 10 minutes after we asked for cutlery - I think the food was cold by then. 7. When I asked to speak to the manager, the server hesitated. I only asked for the manager because I previously saw him just standing at the back and not attending to his staff or managing the floor flow. I called him to actually see him do work - like get ketchup and get more lemons ... things his servers can't attend to because they were swamped and it doesn't help when you have a manager that stands around. 8. Not once did a server come back to ask if we needed anything else or came by to refill the water or pop. 9. The oil they use to fry their fish and chips either hasn't be filtered in a week of the oil isn't properly changed on schedule. I am beyond disappointed at this place, especially because their at a place where people go to enjoy the winter activities at blue and pay a huge amount to lodge there. For anyone that rates this place more than 2 stars is either drunk or has COVID because their taste buds must be out of commission. The 10% tip we gave was more than generous. Service and food surpass the word "poor". If this is a franchise, the owner really needs to step in and either retrain their staff on basic restaurant server etiquette or just replace them all. *do not eat here - you're better off going to Wild Wings or even Pita Pit in the Village. This place isn't even worth getting drinks/alcohol from - you're better off buying from LCBO and bringing it back to your room/lodging. read more

We went there and it was a long wait so we came to MJ Byrne's to kill some time, drink beer and wait as it was too cold outside. They had very good selection of draft beers (28 draft beer to choose from). The service was polite and unrushed. We had two pints each and spent a few hours talking. We weren't hassled to order or leave. The prices were reasonable too. The servers were knowledgeable about the beer; they offered samples to try so that we could order whatever we liked. Oh my. If you caught my Tip on this place when I visited it back during the Feb 8-10 weekend, you would have thought I loved this place. Happening Irish pub, with a great bar, at the bottom of the ski hills in the Village at Blue Mountain! Coming off the hills you're two things: Hungry and Thirsty. While my thirst was sated by an insanely spicy Bloody Caesar (seriously the bottom 1/4 was all Tabasco sauce) my hunger was left wanting as the disorganization of the staff and kitchen here sent us running else where hungry. Long story short we arrived after the lunch rush (it was still busy) and were told when we left our name at the door that it would be a 20-25 minute wait. So we took up at the bar and began hydrating...or dehydrating depends how you look at it really. 45 minutes later I ventured up to the host station and asked the slack jawed mule working his post what our approximate ETA was. "I don't know... I told you 20-25 minutes before". Ahhh yes but that was 45 minutes ago kind sir...to which I received a roll of the eyes and a "well call you when it's ready." Easy tiger papa just wants a nibble no need to get so testy. Another 10 minutes go by and finally we are seated (for those of you keeping track...were now 5 minutes short of an hour). Our server comes about 10 minutes later and takes an order for more drinks. We decide on food right away at which point she tells us that the kitchen is backed up and it could be a 25 minute wait. Ohhhhh no you DINT!!! Excuse me miss - I ask - we were told 25 minute before and it turned into almost an hour wait, so when you say 25 min, do you mean actually 25 minutes orrrrrrrr MJ Byrne 25 min. She scoffed, said she didn't know what to tell us. So we told her to cancel the drinks and went elsewhere. Hopefully that sped up the wait for one other person...but with staff like this I hardly think so. Best to wait things out over at Rusty's or try your luck elsewhere. My boyfriend's shepherd pie looked like high school cafeteria food, except it was a smaller portion. If there's something that an Irish pub should get right, it's alcohol. Know how to pour a Guinness. Pour beer to the top of the pint glass. Know how to serve Hot Whiskey. It's the simple things... My boyfriend ordered a Hot Whiskey, except neither of us could taste a hint of whiskey. It was lemon water. We paid about $10 for lemon water. Instead of complaining, he ordered a second Hot Whiskey with a double shot, which also doubled the price. It was delicious but not worth our combined life savings. The service was great and our waitress was lovely. But her cute smile and friendly hello did not make up for the poor menu. At the end of the day customers want good drink and good grub.
