Your typical bar food in the heart of Blue Mountain's village! Many options to dine in at Blue Mountain's village but this one is the closest to the main lift so of course, we made our way here. Staff are super friendly and nice. our server checked up on us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. It's your typical bar food you can expect but at a slightly higher price range since it's at a tourist spot. Understandable and I don't mind. Started off with a caesar 10/10 - Really hit the spot for us. Came with a full stalk of celery which was huge! Half a pepperoni stick, which is a bit odd they took the time to cut it in half, but I guess to cut costs this way. Rimmed and seasoned perfectly. Would recommend. French onion soup 7/10 - Was hearty and warm after a morning of snowboarding in the cold so this was a good option. The grilled cheese sandwich however looked very sad and tasted just as sad (haha). American cheddar cheese on a single slice of bread. Chicken fingers and sweet potato fries 8/10 - Definitely on the smaller side in terms of portion size, Upgraded to be sweet potato fries which was the best decision! Nothing too special about this but your standard chicken fingers. Wings 7/10 - Only one flavour available, bbq. Came with veggie sticks. Nothing remarkable but a good sharing option. One small thing-the pickled red cabbage was a bit watery, making them a bit messy to eat and I wasn't really a huge fan of all the crispy shallots on top of my side salad. TLDR: Mac and cheese was good, brisket was very disappointing - overcooked, tasteless and overly slathered with barbeque sauce. The dinner was very overpriced and the service was also pretty bad. I went here with a couple friends during a weekend ski-trip, being a BBQ lover and seeing all the banners displaying the "award-winning BBQ" I was pretty excited to try Rusty's out, but here we are with another 2-star review... I ordered the brisket dinner ($25). It was filling but it was far from great - in fact it was disappointing. The dinner came with a decent amount of brisket, mac n' cheese, a small dinner bun, coleslaw and fries. The only thing that was good, or even above average, was the mac and cheese. It was served on what looked like a cute little cast iron which kept it hot for the whole duration of the meal (nothing is worse than cold mac n cheese). It wasn't overbearingly cheesy or heavy but just right. The viscosity of the cheese was also great in that each piece of mac had a proportionate amount of cheese covering it. I would highly recommend this, and only this. I can't comment on the coleslaw (because I don't eat coleslaw), and the fries were mediocre at best, as they came in warm, indicating they've been sitting in the kitchen or fry basket for a while. The brisket was extremely disappointing. A pescatarian friend tried some out of curiosity and she nailed the texture of the brisket aptly - it was like fish. In fact it was akin to overcooked salmon that is soft upon bite but dry in that it becomes chewy afterwards. Where a brisket is supposed to be slow-cooked to a tenderness where it nearly melts in your mouth and breaks down without much effort, this brisket gave me a jaw workout. Worse from that, i couldn't even taste the actual brisket because it was slathered in so much barbeque sauce (presumably because the brisket was so dry) that it overwhelmed any other flavour that may have actually been present. There was nothing done right with the brisket and it was closer to a really bad pulled pork (that is chewy and tasteless) than anything else. read more

So we're famished and the first restaurant you come across is Rusty's. It's just right off where the run ends at the Village and it just is the most convenient out or all of them. So we walk sit at the bar, have a brew, order a shareable and wait for the rest of our crew to assemble. The restaurant is decorated in a lodge like atmosphere. I mean c'mon now, you're in the middle of nowhere land, so outdoorsy would be the theme. The bar wasn't massive, but we don't mind sitting right next to a couple of blokes and chat it out. 1664 blanc was the beverage of choice. Nice and citrusy French brew that hella refreshing. Our shareable, chicken wings. Yep not the best we've ever had, but still good. I don't really mind it,, it's beer drinking food. Came here with our friends recently for dinner during our stay at Blue Mountain Village. This was our 2nd visit and remembered our lunch here last time was pretty good. My girlfriend was hoping to get a pasta dish similar to her last visit but the menu didn't have any pasta selection which she was a bit disappointed. Maybe it was a lunch special last time. Both our friends ordered the cheeseburger which they both said it was pretty good. Keep in mind that the restaurant likes to add coleslaw and beans with the side of fries. We had the same sides on our dish which I might try changing next time. I'm not much for beans so I'm going to request next time to get more coleslaw instead of the beans (not sure if they would give more coleslaw?). My husband and I got the Smokehouse BBQ three meats for $32 to share - selected the BBQ sweet & spicy pork shoulder, smoked garlic brisket and BBQ chicken. This dish was delicious and the portions were generous. My husband really enjoyed this dish especially the pork shoulder which was very tender and juicy. If you have kids, there is a great selection on the kids' meal (I think it was $7 each). My daughter had the burger and I had a bite and it was delicious and our friends' son had the Mac & cheese and he says it was very yummy. Due to a massive tourist attraction despite covid, we wanted to try Rusty's at blue. We waited and gave our phone number since there was a waiting time. We walked around nearby since it was a 15-20 min wait. When we got back expecting a text the lady had crossed our reservation despite the wait. It was an unpleasant conversation with the lady and told us that were was no point in arguing/ talking about the situation that got us upset (removing our reservation without any text) It was very rude. I want to say, mediocre at best. Got to the restaurant and we were all absolutely starving after about a seven hour snowboarding day. This was one of the places that we have never been to when we went to Blue, so we wanted to try it out because everybody would rave about it. after being seated we ordered our appetizers; ordered the nachos which were absolutely amazing, and we ordered the mac & cheese, which was out of this world. We had a shareable platter for two people which included a few barbecue items, had the pulled pork, and the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. All of these came with a side of fries, coleslaw, beans and this really dry bread. I would highly recommend to not get the pulled pork or the Philly cheesesteak sandwich or the beef brisket, it was alright in flavor, but it was very very dry. I'm not sure how the rest of the items on the menu were as the platter was our friends and it had quite a few items, they did mention the ribs were very good. If you're looking for a place to have a good dinner, I would not recommend this place, I would come here to have the appetizers because those did not disappoint. In total for four of us our bill was about $200. I recommend waiting driving out of blue Mountain Village and once you're in the town there is a ton of restaurants. read more

Got two platters to share between my fiance's parents, fiance and I. The pork sausage was great with the smoking habanero sauce balanced with the coleslaw and Mac and cheese. The pulled pork was tender, moist, and flavourful. The only drawback is the price, but it's located right in the resort, so there is markup. Server asked the supervisor/manager to spoke to is. She was not very friendly, no apologetic attitude. First thing she said when she walked over without looking at the wings was "the wings are absolutely cooked because we smoked them first then fried. So they're cooked twice and it wasn't raw." My boyfriend lost his appetite by the fact of tasting blood chewy raw meat texture and unhappy with the continuous explaination of how the wings were smoked before fried. My work group came to Rusty's at Blue for lunch during one of our conference days in the village. We had a group of 15 and a tight, 1hr deadline to get all of us fed and back to the Conference Centre. I was a little concerned when we arrived and could only see 1 person working the bar and the tables, but surprisingly enough, we all were served promptly and within the hour! The gentleman waiting on us was super friendly and accommodating - full marks for service here. I ordered the Fish & Chips, and they were GREAT! I don't usually expect anything spectacular when I order F&C from a non-F&C place, but wow. Batter was crispy and the fish was tasty...the fries were pretty good too! There were no complaints from my group, everyone was very pleased with what they ordered (a variety of everything the menu has to offer). One thing to note is that the pulled pork sandwich is not saucy/messy like I am used to seeing...not a big deal, but good to know if you're a pulled pork fan! We had a group of over 90 (yes, 90) people come in for a meal. The restaurant did an excellent job organizing the outing. We all selected our dishes ahead of time and when the group arrived, the food was brought out very promptly. Some people in the group who ordered appetizers had to wait a little bit longer, but I think its fair considering how much cooking was going on in the kitchen. As far as I know, there were no mixups and everybody was eventually fed. I had ordered the flying pig sandwhich but I forgot to take a picture of it because it was really good. I scoffed it down in nearly 5 minutes! The sandwhich was juicy and had many good components. Near the end, however, it became a little bit dry. It could have used a little bit more of that sauce all over the pulled pork. The bean, fries and coleslaw on the side finished the job and I was stuffed. Pictured below is the buffalo chicken sandwhich. It should give you a good idea of the portion sizes of the sandwhiches. This sandwhich consists of two breaded chicken breasts with buffalo sauce and the side dishes. I was told that it was also very good, but it may have been better without the breading. I guess we wont know if that is true unless we try it though! The servers did an excellent job and were kind while doing it. This is usually the case, but it is always worth making a mention regarding a restaurants service. Its important to let my fellow yelpers know when and/or where service is bad!!! Pricewise, its really alot more expensive than I would expect a bar/pub to be. This is the main reason why I am awarding it only 3 stars. Sandwhiches are around $20 for the most part which is a little bit steep. For 6 of us the price came to around $170 including gratuity. When considering the food we got and the atmosphere of the place (ie. A bar), I dont think this price is really justified. Overall, the experience here is not bad. A third plate, being 1lb of wings, was short 4 wings. How did we know? Because there was another order of 1lb wings at the table LOL. we asked the server, this was her response (I swear I cant make this up) "so I asked the kitchen, they must have made a mistake pouring them into the baskets, but my manager wont give you any more wings" LOL LIKE HOWWW CHEAP ARE U? wow. A girl in my party on the way out tried to take her water with her... yes, not allowed BUT after the bouncer was told it was water he suddenly smacked it out of her hand and into her face? The whole altercation was SO bizarre and he became extremely aggressive which only escalated things. He did not know how to deal with the situation and instead of being rational he snapped and became strangely and physically aggressive from smacking the water towards her face to pushing people who weren't being in anyway physical towards him.
