Made it over to Thornbury again to the Mill Café for lunch with my son, we are chicken burger junkies and the lunch menu chicken burger sounded absolutely delicious! As with my previous visit, a warm welcome met us at the door with prompt seating and service with the same attention to detail when ordering our drinks and our food, the lunch specials sounded delicious but we already had our mind set on the chicken burger which was absolutely what we were hoping for And then some, washed down with a cold craft beer for me and a chocolate milk for my son and you have a pretty awesome lunch outing!! Thanks again Mill café! We will definitely be back again! Zeke

Numerous restaurants in the area and we chose The Mill for dinner on Wednesday, 5/8/19. There were four of us. I had the salmon, another had the California pasta, and the other two split a dinner which allowed them to also add a salad. Portion sizes were filling and presentation was excellent. Even though the two who split their dinner, chef did not skimp on presentation. Separate tickets was not an issue. Food, service, atmosphere was excellent and all reasonably priced. There is an outside sitting area which would have been lovely if the spring weather would have cooperated, but too cold this time. I would definitely go again. The only issue I would see as a problem is parking. There is a public lot but it was full on the Wednesday evening we went so we had to park off street further down which was not paved.

Consistently great food good. From the Kale-Caesar salad and calamari appetizers to surf & turf and salmon, the food was excellent... especially the steak. I've been several times and the service, food quality and atmosphere never disappoints. The drinks were exceptional and desserts to remember. We'll be back!

Great pasta but limited and really expensive wine list. Service was attentive. What freaked me out was doing my makeup to turn around after two girls entered the washroom to find a boy standing there.

I had the mushroom soup and flatbread both were bland. The flatbread was burned all around the edges and the balsamic reduction was in short supply and incorrectly plated on top of the arugula. I had high hopes for a unique dish and was disappointed. The stir fry was served in watery sauce that was more soup than fry. We noted the burned food and watery stir fry and the waitress responded "oh that's too bad" and handed us a bill for 144$. We aren't locals so I guess us never going back isn't a blow ‍

The food matches the modern but warm flare. There were three in our party. To start off we had a half karaf of their special Sangria made with fresh picked local blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries. Next we shared the Snack Platter that included a variety of fresh raw vegetables, home made pita bread, and portions of guacamole, hummus, olive tapenade, and a white bean spinach dip. We also had the Flatbread with a butternut squash base, caramelized onion, apples, cheese, and arugula with a balsamic vinaigrette. Next for our main dishes I had the heaping helping of stir fry udon noodles with a sesame ginger soy sauce and a variety of vegetables. My colleagues had the house made fettuccine pasta with chicken in a pesto cream sauce, broccoli, confit garlic, and charred cherry tomatoes; and finally the AAA Flat Iron Steak that was cooked medium rare on baby arugula greens, chummy churri vinaigrette, with caramelized onion and blue cheese crumbles. All were excellent. Then somehow we had the strawberry crumble with a scoop of oat milk ice cream. Quite full after this culinary adventure. Great service by Heather and a fantastic meal from Chef Christina. Highly recommend!

I always enjoy locally made baked goods. Latte and matcha latte were solid. Stole a bite of the smoked trout sandwich - if you love one of those smoked salmon creamy tangy spread sandwiches this is definitely a good one. Pictures not taken are the grilled cheese and cheese scone. Smoked cheese was used in the grilled cheese sandwich. I enjoy all kinds of cheeses so I was pleased with the smoky kick. Cheese scone was not heated up properly and somehow the cheese, despite looking like a typical golden cheddar, was not flavourful at all. Dough base of the scone lacked the buttery, flaky texture. I'd say skip it. Hm honestly this place deserves more reviews.

They also had a few paintings on their walls to sell that were made by local artists which was really nice. Our server was polite and friendly. She made sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the oysters, the soup of the day, filet mignon with herb roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables and the new york striploin with chive mashed potato and garlic mushrooms. We were quite pleased with the oysters (5/5) and the soup which was Chipotle Tomato (5/5). The soup had a nice smokey flavour and a kick from the chipotle which paired well with the sweetness and tanginess of the tomato soup. Filet Mignon with Herb Roasted Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables (3.5/5). The steak was cooked to my liking (medium rare). The char to it heightened the flavour of the steak. The steak also had bacon wrapped around which I couldn't really taste. The herb roasted potatoes were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The kitchen staff unfortunately forgot to add my seasonal vegetables on the plate which we let our server know. The vegetables were underwhelming as they were overcooked. We hope for the staff to be more attentive in future orders. The New York Striploin with Chive Mashed Potato and Garlic Mushrooms (4/5) was also cooked medium rare however, we did find some parts of the steak to be slightly overcooked. The char also heightened the flavours of the steak. The chive mashed potato had a smooth texture. Butter on the side would've been a good idea. The garlic mushrooms were deliciously cooked. It was bouncy and juicy, coated in the garlic flavour we were looking for. They also gave out bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar for starters.
