We went to watch the amazing Cedric Newman, and let me tell you, the guy is HILARIOUS! He had us…read moredying laughing the whole time. They should definitely book him again. And then, the food... oh man... it was great. First, the Donaleigh's Signature Burger, that burger was massive, juicy, and packed with flavor. It had a combination of the beef patty, crispy bacon, white cheddar, BBQ sauce, and onion crisps on a toasted sesame brioche bun. It was absolute magic. As for the sides (which you can pick either salad, fries, or soup of the day). I had fries, it was good, nothing special. Then, do not even get me started on the Chicken Club. My partner got it but I had a bite, it was like a party in my mouth. The Naan bread was soft and warm, and the filling was amazing: chicken, bacon, boiled egg, basil aioli... it was all so good. For his side dish, he got garden salad, which tasted fresh ( I got a bite of that too lol). I shared my fries ;-) Moving on, the service was great. Our server was super friendly and attentive, checking in on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. And the best part? Parking was a breeze! In Downtown Barrie. Free parking after 5pm (we parked at 9 Simcoe Street), just a 3-minute walk from the pub. Donaleigh's Irish Public House is killing it with their live events! They have got Genevieve Cyr and Nate Douglas performing soon, and The Rob Watts Band is taking the stage too. But honestly comedy shows are a must. We need more, especially since there is no YUK YUK comedy in Barrie. Hopefully, they will keep bringing in more comedians to make it a regular thing.

Excellent bar in downtown Barrie. They have very…read moreinteresting IPAs and the food offerred is also decent. It has a pretty huge seating space inside and patron can chill in patio during the summers right by Dunlop Dt. Bonus. Donaleighs hostinteresting trivia nights so that adds to the awesomeness of the place.

I have been back a couple of times since my first visit in November and the food and service has…read morebeen fantastic. of course i had the starter size for the fish and chips, which were very tasty and my stomach was very happy . i had the caesar salad to start as it finally warmed up in Barrie, There was a lot of bacon in the salad which was much appreciated . I also tried the sticky toffee pudding and it was ok at best. The service was tremendous as usual and its a friendly price point. It was the busiest i had seen it in my previous visits so there was some ambiance. Now that is summertime i will going there more frequently and looking forward it. Im going to get a full order of fish and chips next time and I want to try their roast beef dinner on Sundays

Sadly I have to change my review. I've been going for trivia on Wednesdays since 2017, but it looks…read morelike last night was probably my last time. They've introduced pay-to-win mechanics into their trivia, in the form of awarding points for Wednesday's trivia to people who order entrees on Sunday-Tuesday. Needless to say, this undermines the spirit of trivia and of competition for the sake of a few extra bucks. I contacted the pub itself but they ignored me. I contacted the company that hosts the trivia, PubStumpers, but they seemed more concerned with persuading me that the pay-to-win mechanic was acceptable, rather than listening to my objection. The trivia IS fun, but now it is only fun if you don't mind that a game of skill and chance is now about skill, chance, and how much extra money you are willing to pay. Very disappointing for trivia enthusiasts.

I dropped into this local watering hole on a Friday around noon and it was very quiet. There was…read moreactually one patron at the bar when I arrived and one more when I left. Two fellows occupied another table. Hmmm, where is everybody? Despite being an Irish Pub, the owners appeared to be Indian. All the staff that I saw were Indian, including the lone server/bartender. Now, that's not a bad thing because I love Indian food. I was actually quite happy! I just never expected it to be disguised as an Irish pub. I chose the Butter Chicken (Authentic creamy butter chicken sauce served with rice and naan bread). It was actually quite good but not quite up to the standard of an authentic Indian restaurant. It seemed to be lacking some of the creaminess that I've become used to in butter chicken. So this was very good, but perhaps not as authentic as I was hoping for. The rest of the place looked like what I would expect from an Irish pub. The (faux) worn furniture, the dart boards, the pool table. the fireplace, a good variety of beer on tap. Hopefully the evening crowd is better. There is one thing that I found to be a turnoff - the strong smell of air freshener or some kind of cleaning agent. Tone this down for a better, more natural experience. Please.

Patio opened recently. Nice, spacious and social distance is outlined. Sign in with contact…read more info, hand sanitizer there. Problem is, the regular patrons, that smoke, now smoke and vape on the patio. Servers do nothing. Pathetic. The smokers never followed the 9 meter rule, always a cloud of smoke at the entrance, next to a daycare. Now they take over the patio. So there are so more patios that are not ruled by the clients. Too bad, nice patio, and great food, but I'll leave it to the inmates. Mackenzie's, magwyers, portly, st. Louis, even Boston pizza respect your air.
