Very friendly service, I needed a formulary drug, that their specialty. Mine was ready the next day after my doctor called in the prescription. They accepted my insurance, I saved a lot by using it. Above and beyond! My 14 week old puppy was released from the ER yesterday afternoon. One of the vet techs called in a compounded prescription to Medmetrics Pharmacy for me and failed to ask how long it would take to fill. During ER discharge, she told me to start him on the medicine same day and the pharmacy would call to let me know when I could pickup. On my 30 min drive home from the ER, Medmetrics called me to get info to setup our acct with them and then stated it would be about 3 days to get filled. Our puppy is really sick and we are just trying to get him enough nutrition and fluids to get him to his Tuesday am appt with an Internal Medicine doctor and the medicine was needed same day (had not been able to keep much food down for 3 days in a row and very weak). Once home, I rushed to get our puppy comfortable so I could call the ER to get other options. I had limited time as my two adult French Bulldogs were in for pre-scheduled dental/extraction surgery and I would need to be able to pick them up late afternoon and monitor them once home. I contacted the ER and was told the vet tech would get back with me in a couple of minutes. Over 30 mins later with no return call, I contacted the ER again. They told me the one vet tech who could handle this was now with back to back discharges and should be able to call me back within an hour or two. I told them I did not have that time and the vet tech had failed to get fill timeline when she called in the script. They told me they would see what they could do. I picked up the phone and called your location to see if you might be able to fill today. Abby got on the phone and said it looked like you should be able to do at least a partial fill. She offered to contact Medmetrics and request a fill transfer. In the meantime, around 3pm I messaged the ER vet tech asking them to contact you about the scrip. She contacted me back shortly after saying she had called all around and the closest pharmacy was in North Scottsdale to get filled (completely missed my note and call to contact you). After asking her to contact you again, she did. Your team was already working on it after Abby contacted Medmetrics. The scrip was filled by your team by 4:30 and my husband was able to run over and pick up while I monitored the puppy He arrived back home to stay with the puppy just as I needed to leave to pick up our other two from their surgeries. Your team went well above and beyond to accommodate us yesterday. I've been a longtime customer and been happy with your services. I used to love this pharmacy, however, like other pharmacies in the area they seem to have gone downhill. It took them 2 full days to fill a prescription for gabapentin - something they should already have compounded and on hand or easily be able to compound and fill. I brought my written prescription to them on Monday, 3 hours after sending them an email with a photo of the prescription, and while they easily could've probably filled it then and there, and offered for me to wait, they instead said sorry for the inconvenience, we'll text when it's ready. Then I got a text message on Tuesday saying my "doctor" sent in a prescription that they needed my authorization to fill (which was not the case because my doctor, or vet in this case, only issues written prescriptions and didn't know where I was taking it to get filled) and that my prescription was now in the holding queue and wouldn't be filled until I called and made the authorization. Clearly the prescription was authorized by me to fill, I was the one that hand delivered it to them the day prior. Long story short, the prescription wasn't filled until Wednesday afternoon. When I went in to pick it up and pay, I almost threw up when they said the price. $78 for a prescription that would've cost me $10.12 on Chewy!!!!! And Chewy could have filled the script and shipped it to me faster than a pickup at Mixtures! NEVER AGAIN will I use this pharmacy. I tried to do a nice thing by supporting a small business, but this is complete incompetence and thievery!!! read more

Doctor sent prescription on 04/10 and 12 days later prescription hasn't even shipped. I had to call 4 times for them to even start working on it. Disappointing customer service each time I called. read more

I trusted that Mixtures Pharmacy was the perfect place to work with regarding my hormone therapy treatment. After consulting with the Pharmacist Lori and my PA I switched formulas. I started to feel very sick. I made several attempts to communicate with Lori and and her staff and received no follow up! I realized this place does not care at all to provide the service that is required to help patients. I can go on about this, however far not worth anymore of my time. Is it just compounding pharmacies in general that seem to be the issue? My experience with this pharmacy has been great and horrible - and seems to be the case every other month. I am switching to another compounding pharmacy due to my previous prescription being filled by a student that was helping that week; my firm belief (that has not been confirmed by the pharmacy) is that I received cream with ZERO hormones in it due to the extreme heart palpitations and SVTs that I experienced within 2 days of the new scrip. I will say Lori was great and replaced the prescription right away, but I'm tired of a crap shoot every month to see what I am going to end up with. The new pharmacy I am looking at has just as sketchy of reviews - can someone please run a compounding pharmacy that is top notch, please?? read more

I had been a customer here years ago and have since moved back to Chandler. I came back to Mixtures because of Lori. She is very knowledgeable in bio identical hormones and the staff has always been very helpful. I called to refill my prescription and told them about the bad reviews on here that I was shocked about because I have never had a problem. Brittany said they had gotten a new system and they were having a lot of difficulty with it during the time the other reviewers had posted. My first experience was very poor and my second hasn't been any better. I was waiting on a very urgent order that was faxed in and sat there a day and a half with no callback to inform prescription was ready. I called down there several times (left voice mails since no one answered the phone) and when they called me back, I was informed that it still was not ready. Finally Mixtures called and said it was ready. When I got down there, I had to wait (they were still working on it). Then when it came to payment time, nothing had been pre-authorized with the insurance. I was sitting there waiting only to be informed by Mixtures that is most likely would take another 2 days (I was there on a Friday) since it is close to closing time both for them and the doctor's office and it's the weekend. Ended up paying full price for prescription just to get out of there so I could get started on my urgent meds. Experience #2. Doctor called me yesterday morning to tell me they faxed new prescription and was told it should be ready in the afternoon and that Mixtures informed them they would call me when it was ready. Mid-afternoon no call from Mixtures. Left voice mail (since no one ever answers the phone there). Mike calls me right before their closing time to inform me prescription is ready. I went down there at 9am when they opened the following day that I received the phone call and they could not find prescription (even though system said it was done/ready). The pharmacist came out and apologized and said she would mix it up ASAP (escalate/put me in the front) and that it should be ready shortly and that someone would be calling me. It is 4pm (they close at 4:30pm) and no phone call. I tried calling Mixtures and again ... voice mail (no one is answering the phone). Went out to their website and also emailed them with my frustration of no one calling me back/no one answering the phone. If this place wasn't so close to my home, I would go elsewhere. If you have urgent medications, I would recommend trying another place until Mixtures can convince me otherwise. Very unorganized business operation. read more

These guys are awesome-- they always are friendly and have my script ready on time! They participate in a program that allowed me to get a very expensive script that I desperately needed at a reduced price (my insurance would not cover it at first). They periodically retried getting my insurance to approve the script which they eventually did and now I get it covered at an even more reduced price. Great service! read more

I had a compound pain medication that I took to Mixtures. The first month they accepted my script and then I got a call on my way home that they couldn't make that medication because they did not have some necessary paperwork at this location to make it, or even order it from a manufacturer. I took it to another compound pharmacy off Dobson. They made the medication by the next day. The second month I called ahead and they had the medication for the compound. I dropped off my script and confirmed they had it in stock and could make it. We discussed the components and that they had to be made in batches of 100. So there would be left over pills each month. I was told to call ahead and since the script is the same each month, they would be able to make it ahead of time and then just bottle it when the actual paper script came the next month. The third month I called a week in advance letting them know I would be bringing it in on a specific day and the quantity. On that day I brought in the script and dropped it off. I was then told they don't make them ahead of time and it takes time to compound. The next day when it was ready I was called by the pharmacists to let me know it was ready and I asked about the inconsistencies between pharmacists at that shop. (Both pharmacists are named Lori, 1 of them owns the place.) I was told that she wasn't going to discuss that and that was how she did things. I picked up my prescription and the pharmacists ducked behind the window so I couldn't see her and another girl rang it up. I told her I was not happy with the inconsistencies at their facility and that I was only trying to make it easier for them, since they have to make the capsules each month. She then told me "I hope you realize you have a choice". I said, yes, I hope you do as well. Then today I get a call from Lori the owner saying I slammed the door and was rude and to treat her staff more respectful. She would not address the inconsistent stories that she and her other pharmacist were telling me and that I only needed to be more respectful of her staff. In a customer service business, being inconsistent for your customers only drives them away. Seems to me they try to lure you in with niceties and helpfulness and within a few months they really don't care anymore. There are other compound pharmacies farther away from my home. I live 1.8 miles from Mixtures. But will now drive to Chandler or even Mesa for my compound script because obviously this pharmacy does not care about lasting business. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE !!! They NEVER can get the prescription correct !!! They always come up with a different price every time I have gone in to pick up a prescription !!! The girls that work in the back room do not look any older than 18 !!! And I have been made to wait an excessively long time while they have to correct the prescription that should have been correctly ready at the time I arrived !!! I have also been rudely ignored while standing in line, to pick up a prescription, as the person behind the register carries on a trivial conversation with the customer for an excessive amount of time !!! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PHARMACY, EVER !!!! SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND MANY, MANY PROBLEMS TRYING TO GET THE CORRECT PRESCRIPTION !!! A prescription is something that deserves the utmost attention to be made correctly and I feel this pharmacy does not have the attention to detail or aptitude to listen, to follow up and that makes me very concerned as a consumer !!!! Mixtures used to be great, but things have gone markedly downhill in the past two weeks. It appears there may have been a turnover in staff. My present experience is similar to the poster above. They can't seem to get it right and when I do talk to someone I get a different story each time. It's not a convenient location for me, but I've stayed on out of loyalty. I can't continue to do that any longer. I'm pulling my prescriptions and going elsewhere. read more
