Pretty bummed to learn I've been paying $8 every time I've had my cat's prescription mailed to me. In the automated system when you call to refill prescriptions, there is NOTHING about a shipping fee associated. All it asks "if you'd like to have your prescription mailed to you, please press 2". I've been getting my prescription from them for almost 4 years, maybe longer, and had no idea I was paying this. I don't appreciate the lack of transparency. Other than this, my experience with this pharmacy has been smooth sailing. I think their automated system needs an update. I spoke with someone from the business and said my peace. They said I actually had acknowledged the shipping fee back in 2021, which wow, that's when I was deep in my cat eating my comforter, sheets, clothes, pillows, etc. than, I must have missed this very critical info. So I apologize for being wrong about shipping fees. She also said that since shipping fees vary state to state, it's hard to update an automated system, and to that I say you can absolutely add an "shipping charges may apply" regardless. I am changing my review to 5 stars because otherwise this, they have been trustworthy and have never been late for shipments. read more

Got insulin for my cat from here. They gave zero input or advice and we almost left without needles. It was my cat's first ever dose and they just acted like we were getting a pack of gum. People need to remember that not everyone is familiar with the things they come across daily. The dose was too high because my cat wasn't eating and he didn't make it through the night at the vet ER. I'm pretty disturbed that neither my vet or this pharmacy gave us any advice on the injections. read more

Our cat was diagnosed with FIP , AVRIO is one of the few pet friendly compounding pharmacies in the country that carries the medication. They are also priced significantly less than the others that carry it. I walked in my cat's prescription and they rushed and filled it within minutes. They were so kind and friendly. We started using Avrio a year ago for two compound meds for our cat. Avrio makes it so simple! Call for a refill, credit card is on file, and they have always sent priority mail. INCONSISTENT- I gave them a second chance. They will not be getting a third. I called in a refill on Saturday morning. I had five days medication left. They called me Tuesday afternoon to process payment and so on. I thought that they were cutting it close but if it went out that day, and with the extra eight dollars they charge for quick delivery, we would make it. Not so! I called Friday AM to see where the refill is and was told it went out yesterday- five days after I called it in. I asked when it might arrive and was told that it could be tomorrow but it might be next tuesday- I am not kidding. This is the second time that there has been a considerable delay in refills of medication for a very sick little dog. I will not chance it again. read more

I was so excited to have another LOCAL COMPOUNDING pharmacy in the area. I had the address and once I got close to the area, the building four digits seemed hard to locate and they didn't make sense. I spoke to the staff when I found it, and told them that I had difficulty finding it. They asked if I used a map app, which I didn't. My home internet was malfunctioning; didn't want to overuse data for that. The staff was very helpful, courteous, and informative. I bought my cats antibiotic, and even some Vanilla Mint toothpaste for my cats. Oh, I asked about probiotics, and they even carry that! Keep refrigerated. All the red brick building look alike to me. Glad that I found it, so maybe it'll be easier next time. Medication prices were about $14 more than when I purchased online through another company; but the convenience and getting it promptly was worth the extra money when my cat is having an upper respiratory infection. read more

I get my cat's prescription filled here at Avrio Pharmacy and I love it! My cat has hyperthyroidism, so he gets a specially formulated prescription twice per day. The fine folks at Avrio add a chicken flavoring into his medicine, and I mix it in with some wet food and he's none the wiser. This location is less than 10 minutes from work, so it's super convenient for me as well. There is hardly ever a line and the pharmacy techs are super friendly. read more

My doggie eye vet, Dr Urbanz, had sent the prescription for my Shih Tzu, Barkley, to Avrio Pharmacy for compounding. Avrio is just a bit out of my way but I agreed to go there to pick up Barkley's eye drops. Avrio even has a person to handle pet medications and questions for your pet. Everyone I have ever dealt with at Avrio is nice and pleasant. I had my regular vet call in a script for the same medication to another compounding pharmacy and I was shocked at the price they charged for only 2/3 of the quantity. I won't ever use that pharmacy again no matter how convenient it was to pick up Barkley's medication. I'm right back at Avrio for Barkley's compounded medication! Avrio uses the best supplies for making Barkley's eye drops for his dry eye condition. And Avrio is the least expensive pharmacy. I have even tried mail order pharmacies and still could not beat the price and quality that Avrio Pharmacy provides. Thank you, Avrio!! Very poor communication over the course of 18 months of using them as a compounding pharmacy. Prescription directives differed from my doctor; often had to wait for prescriptions even if I rec'd a call; price increase without given any notification to customers. When this pharmacy was Allcare Pharmacy it was wonderful. I am not sure if they were bought out, but since they changed to Avrio, they have completely gone downhill in both customer service and in actual service. In July 2019, I requested that the pharmacy request renewal of my same script that I have had for several years and as they have done each time it expired. They failed to follow through. I had my doctor call in the script the since Avrio failed to request the renewal. I went to pick up my medication and they didn't have it ready as they said I was supposed to call them to approve the doctor's script. I showed up again to pick up my medication and it wasn't ready and they weren't sure why and they didn't have enough compound to fill full prescription. At this point I'm three weeks without my needed medication. Then they notify me that they could do a partial refill and mail me the rest of it. I received the remaining medication through the mail a week later. I requested that I be put on an auto enroll to fill and mail each month and gave them a credit card to place on file for the monthly charges. I am then told that that they are charging me a 30% increase in cost each month due to the medication "being very difficult to make". As of today, I still haven't received my next monthly medication and when I called, they amazingly do not have my auto enroll on file. I enrolled in person in August! They apologized and said they could charge me $25 to overnight the medication to me. The supervisor is too busy to talk to me but will call me back. I will update this review after I speak to the supervisor. Follow up: spoke to Pharmacist and she called me back quickly within a half hour of my call. She was very professional. She assured me that she was making sure my medication would be mailed monthly and that she set it up in their system. 10/10 Update- Patel, a Director, reached out to me first thing this morning to discuss my concerns and the issues I was having. He was very apologetic, professional, understanding and he has addressed my concerns to my satisfaction. I greatly appreciate his assistance and the wonderful customer service he personally delivered. Restored my confidence in this business. read more

I've been going to this pharmacy for a couple of years and it's always been great. Not sure what changed recently, but it took 4 days to get my Rx filled. They wouldn't start processing it until they got my credit card over the phone (which was fine) but then when I got there they still needed my card to run it. I thought since they had it that I could easily pick it up. They also required masks to be worn. I asked if the only 2 people I saw working there were not vaccinated and they said yes they were. I have been also, so why require me to wear one? No one else was in the pharmacy at all. They just seemed so difficult in every aspect. It seemed as though they were doing me the favor. Tony has been my pharmacy phixers for the most part; calm, attentive, he never ceases to amaze me! I was sitting here waiting for them to fill a prescription. It was first time using them so vet had given me a written RX. I was told it would be a 10 minute wait. 1 hour later the person at the counter saw me sitting there snd asked if I was still waiting. I am the only 1 sitting in the lobby. Then they filled it within a few minutes. Plus they need a 10 day notice for refills. I hope it is ready when I get there when it is refill time or maybe I will get to sit in the lobby for 10 days. read more

Long story short I had called in a refill for my dog's medication about a week before I was running out so I would be prepared to pick it up one day before work but I totally forgot! It was running close to the time when he would need his medication and I live about 50 minutes away and did not want to drive out there. I don't remember who I called to speak to but I asked if it could be shipped instead and how long it would take.
