    The Orchard Salad
    Robert K.

After a huge Korean BBQ last night, I thought about having a light lunch by having a salad...boy was I wrong! I ordered the Orchard from MIXT, only after finishing it did I googled the calories...it was 905 CAL! The lettuce was fresh but not enough kale. There were plenty of smoked bacon bits, sliced apples, and shredded cheddar but not enough avocado slices. Overall, it was a tasty salad, but if you're on a diet, better skip this one.

    Work lunch friendly - peachy!

I sorta just stumbled upon this place during my lunch, I was starving and I had some work to get done. I got the Peachy and I'm not taking about those booty gains haha I got the peachy salad which is a seasonal salad it's great but they hooked it up a lil too much on the salad dressing, next time I'm opting for it on the side. They have a huge array of veggies to add on, you can also pick from some of their great creations, like the Peachy, it's really delicious, peaches are really nice and soft, served with mixed greens, carrots, croutons, the elote is crunchy and savory I'd totally come back and get another great creation!!

Really nice place to have lunch. Customize your salad. You could also get sandwiches here. Very pricy, but hey, it's convenient & in the financial district. Haha. "Fancy." Don't remember what was the name of my sandwich, but it had apples in it. It also comes with a side of salad. Chips is extra price. Came out to $13 something. This place gets very packed during the 12pm hour. The workers are very fast serving everyone. My only complaint, is that, when the line gets full, it's very hard to keep out of the way from each other. So, it's kind of narrow.

I ordered the Beetnik salad with medium dressing. The salad was very good. The price was average for the area and I like the location because it is close to my work. They added the dressing but put just the right amount. I did not wait long for my order and they made my salad right away. I do plan to return in the near future.

MIXT has become a weekly tradition for a few reasons: 1) They offer healthy and tasty salads and sandwiches 2) You can order your food ahead of time (as long as you don't have any special requests) and 3) Portions are generous. If you're in FiDi, this is one restaurant that you'll see every few blocks and there's always a line out the door at lunchtime. My go to items are the Rooster Sandwich and the Build Your Own Salad (which is great if you have dietary restrictions). The Rooster Sandwich comes with diced chicken breast, arugula, apple slices, shredded white cheddar, pesto, and garlic aioli on a soft torpedo roll with a side of MIXT greens. It's the perfect combination of sweet and savory. Plus, it's filling, yet still light. If you want a salad, I would recommend checking out their menu before, because there are a LOT of options and you order "Chipotle" style. The staff at this location were nice, quick, and helpful when we had a large order with special requests. The restaurant was clean and there were a decent number of tables, but could tell it might get chaotic and loud during the lunch rush.

With 7 locations in San Francisco, Mixt has really made a name for itself as a go-to, quick, healthy lunch spot. You can get sandwiches, salads, or grain bowls. They have their options (order there or ready-made) and you can also create your own. They have a regular menu (the Cowboy is a personal favorite) as well as seasonal options (I had the Parker today and it was delicious!). All of the locations are a bit varied in size and line (the one at 1 Market always has a super long line). Only docking one star because it is really expensive. It's easy to get addicted to Mixt, especially because other healthy lunch options are few and far between. They also have a good rewards program. You can use their app to get more rewards, and they also have "Buy 10 Salads, get the 11th free."

I love salad bars and the ability to make your own salad bowl, but why does this place have to be so dang expensive?! I guess you get what you pay for, but still it's salad! Nice convenient walk in SF and there is usually a line out the door at 12pm. You can order their already made salad which is about $11 or make your own. I ended up making my own and the total came out to be $16! Best believe I did not throw any of that salad away! Love their concept and the modern layout, but I couldn't afford to eat here every day. Grab yourself a premixed salad from the grocery store for less than $10 and it's just as good! But if you want to splurge on a salad, this place is where to go!

I love the Maui salad with its butter lettuce, mango, avocado, cherry tomatoes, macadamia nuts and coriander crusted ahi tuna. But WHY IS IT NOW $16?!? It's hard to eat healthy =/

Mixt Cobb Salad ($13.30 Caviar): Butter lettuce, chicken, bacon, blue cheese, avocado, tomatoes, herbs, champagne vinaigrette, no egg
    Elena N.

We got food from Mixt Greens on Friday, April 22nd for our weekly office lunch. They ordered delivery through Caviar. Prices below are Caviar's prices. I got the Mixt Cobb Salad ($13.30): Butter lettuce, grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese, avocado, cherry tomatoes, savory herbs, champagne vinaigrette, no egg. It was a huge salad full of fresh ingredients. Lots of butter lettuce, but they didn't give us enough dressing for the size of the salad. Everyone ran out of dressing before finishing their salad. I had a bottle of balsamic in our fridge, so I finished off the salad with that. I was starving so the salad was the perfect size for me. I ate the whole thing. Good place to grab salads. If super hungry, this is a nice hefty portion. They pack a lot of greens in their salad boxes.

This is the second Mixt Greens I've visited. I've been to the other Sansome location numerous times. Every single time, the food has been fresh and amazing. The quality of the ingredients is impeccable. This Mixt Greens does not have outdoor seating. But it is incredibly close to my new office. The staff was not quite as perky as at the other Mixt Greens in the 400's on Sansome. But, then again, I did drop in at 2:59 when they close at 3:00 and they did not complain at all. They were not even rushing to close the doors. This time I had the: rooster 8.95 grilled chicken, sliced apple, fontina cheese, basil pesto, mixt greens, aïoli, on an herb slab Mmmmm, mmm, good. A chicken sandwich with crispy apple slices. Now that is pretty righteous. I am not even a salad lover and I really dig their side of fresh mixed greens. It is such a great lunch. http://tinyurl.com/3q53fzo I will be back many times. If you want to stalk me, this would probably be a pretty good place to start. Next up is their seasonal Vietnamese Sub.

The rice is so tasty - it's the chicken broth rice type (NOT vegetarian). And I liked the garnishes that came with it. There is quite a bit of good seasoning on it, including sesame seeds, dill, etc. so you actually don't really need a sauce in my opinion. I got the chimichurri and it was more sauce-based than the traditional oil-base, which I really liked. I also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts and it was a good portion with aioli. Baked potato was good but needed extra salt or butter to really jazz it up. 3. Quarter chicken was sooo juicy and flavorful 4. Artichoke needed some level of salt to even out the heavy lemon but well cooked nonetheless 5. Brussel sprouts were flawless 6. The sorbet is amazing! It's the kind of bowl you order when you want to feel bright and satisfied. Now if you're in the mood for something warm, crunchy, and nutty, the Bangkok Bowl is your girl. The texture, the richness, the cozy vibes -- chef's kiss. It's hearty without being heavy and hits all the comfort-food notes. And can we talk about portions?! These bowls are NO joke. I realized I had not added seating accommodation to my reservation and tried to call, but no one answered. When we arrived, the hostess told us we would not be able to sit in any of the currently empty booths because reservations were coming in later. We were seated at a table off the dining space near the kitchen, my mom was a little too chilly and the booth didn't have enough neck support. I expressed to the host that though I was sorry I had forgotten to add accommodation, that this was just not the way to handle the problem. I was able to speak to the manager, who had been outside taking orders and was clearly working very hard that day. (Her name is quite uncommon so I'm just going to call her M, but I really appreciate your help!) She asked me what my concern was, and I told her, at which point she asked me to wait nearby while she figured out if she could rearrange some tables for us. The bartender was incredibly kind and served me while I waited, and distracted me from imminent tears by sharing intricate details about each drink he was making. I learned do they have a myriad of health oriented cocktails, with ingredients like turmeric, ginger, and aloe liqueur. The manager returned and said that she had already seated my mother in a new space and escorted me to the table, which allowed me to relax and enjoy the meal. At the beginning of the menu, they list the ingredients that are currently in season, and at the back of the menu, there is a color wheel, telling you the benefits of the colors of food. (Purple foods can assist with memory and brain function!). We ordered the asparagus, which was in season, spicy cucumber, and the Aji grill for two. The tofu that came with the grill for two was my favorite thing that we ate. I think you can judge a vegan / vegetarian restaurant by their treatment of tofu. Perfectly seasoned with a crispy outside and I would come back just for this. The cauliflower steak was also pretty tasty. The cocktails are excellent, we tried the BLACKPINK and my mother tried the espressotini and we were really happy with both. I don't know how popular their bar scene is, but I imagine it would be a nice way to meet other vegan and vegetarian folks over light bites. Our waiter Daniel made sure to give us the Mother's Day special dessert the restaurant had created, which was an avocado Grenache with fresh berries. If the experience had started with less stress, this review would be five stars, but I'm very grateful to the staff for doing what they could to correct it and ensure that we had a great Mother's Day! I would love to visit again and update my review :)
