I have been here 3 times with 3 different people and every time we are both beyond satisfied with the service, food, and price. First time I came here I got the buffalo chicken mac, my boyfriend got the doggie, and we shared Mac balls. Everything was amazing. My buffalo mac was spicy but not overpoweringly so. The doggie was just as delicious. I've gotten the chicken bacon ranch and the mexi since. The mexi wasn't my favorite but still delicious. Everything also tastes a million times better the next day. So save some leftovers! The staff has always been extraordinarily pleasant. Careful trying to find this place- you might miss it as it is tucked into a worn strip mall. The place is small and can get crowded. And with good reason. The food here is delicious and decadent. There are so many macaroni and cheese combinations. mushroom/Swiss? Check! Hawaiian? Affirmative! Mexican? check! Lobster ? Yep! shrimp scampi? - yes! Their menu is huge. Need gluten free? That week's "Mac of the Week" of chicken, bacon, ranch and mozzarella is not to be missed. This week's BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese was pretty damned good too. The Bic Mac special also great. I liked the diced pickles (which is different than relish). Brought home the Bacon/Cheddar Balls for the kids, and even after an hour+ drive home, they scarfed them down, along with the BBQ Pork. I pass thru Middletown a few times every summer and was excited to finally get to try this place, and now I do my best to stop there either on the way up or the way back. It was a little hard to find it at first because theres so many stores in Middletown, but definitely worth a stop! Everyone loves Mac N' Cheese and they have all the flavor options you could want & even offer family size trays. They're very kid friendly; they have kids toys for your kids to play while you dine. They have seasonal rice pudding flavors that are to die! One of my favorite things besides the amazing taste & portion size, was that they ask you if you want breadcrumbs on top of your mac or not. My taste buds die and go to heaven every time I visit this place, and if I am taking it to go, I get anxious as I drive wherever I am going because I cannot wait to dig in to the food. The prices are not as cheap as one may wish, but you get a good amount of food to truly fill you up. You might not be able to actually finish it and you will have to save it (but who doesn't love leftovers, right?) They have so many different varieties, it is always hard to pick and choose what you want. We ordered take out from Mix n Mac because we had friends from out of town visiting and staying with us. Can't comment too much about the ambience or service but their mac n cheeses are definitely yummy. It was hard to place our order because there are so many options on the menu to choose from. It's like whatever you're in the mood for they've got it -- Mexican, Chinese, Barbecue... We tried several kinds including the mushroom swiss, lobster mac, veggie mac and a fun mix of the mac balls that they let you choose. I got the Fiery Steak and the person on the phone told us that it would be spicy, which I like. It was spicier than I expected but I appreciated that they tell their customers in advance. The portions don't look huge, it's a true personal size but I don't think any of us were able to finish. But the best part was having leftovers! The balls with the cranberry in them were AMAZING! I placed a gluten free order to go for my Son and was happy that they didn't even consider putting bread crumbs on top. The portion sizes are a good size too. I barely made a dent in mine. Every inch of the place is spotless, including the bathroom. I was impressed that there were 2 different sized stools for the kids in the there. I wish places had been that considerate when my kids were younger. The only drawback is there isn't a branch in Rockland County. I definitely have a new go to Orange County lunch place though. I'm from the south, born and raised...there are 3 foods we don't play around with - Mac & cheese, biscuits & gravy, and fried chicken. We live in Nashville, but husband is from Goshen and we're up a few times a year visiting family. Mix N Mac is the only local restaurant that is on my "MUST GO BEFORE WE LEAVE" list, every visit. Absolutely excellent! The variety that is offered here is unparalleled. We tried the shrimp scampi and macho nacho mac and cheese, and they were both incredible. We also got the fried mac and cheese balls topped with ricotta. The style is fast casual and there are a few tables inside and out. This is one of those college town types of restaurant. Good food that'll fill you up for a good price. One thing I recommend is calling ahead of time to place your order because it takes a while for them to make your Mac and cheese. I ordered the Fiery steak Mac and cheese and it was delicious! All of the toppings went really well with the Mac and cheese. It does have a kick to it in every bite and I felt like at times, the spiciness kind of masked the other flavors. The buffalo chicken Mac and cheese taste exactly like how you would expect. It has a strong buffalo sauce taste and also has a good kick to it. The best part was the generous amount of cheese. Before I start my review: DO NOT DINE IN I have been here several times over the last three years and it is obvious they do not care about the customers eat in experience. Music is blaring and it is really hot and also humid. And when when I say "music" I mean whatever the counter person decides to listen to at that moment. Also, the spacing of the tables makes no sense. It's obvious they had furniture and just made it fit. Ok....... The food is amazing. Vegetarians rejoice! Many options abound!
