Daddy's Donuts and Bake Shop - Maple glaze, chocolate glaze some stuff with delicious buttercream! - Donuts Near Me - Middletown, New York

I was visiting a friend in Middletown (I'm from Long Island) and was looking for some donuts to bring home. Quick google search and found Daddy's Bakery. And boy am I happy I did. I have to say, this was the best donut I have ever had. Ever. I would drive back "upstate" just for these donuts! Not only are the donuts delicious, and fresh, the man that helped me was so nice. The service here friendly and welcoming. Asked me if I've ever been there and I explained I was visiting from LI and we had a chat about that. I cannot wait to go back. So many different flavors to try. I'm a little sad I gave most of donuts to family members, that I didn't have more to enjoy myself! read more

What a spot! I was able to visit after spending the night in Middletown, NY. Of course, when I entered Daddy's, we immediately started talking about Boston and NY. The owner was working and is a great guy. Very personable! I ordered 4 doughnuts. I wish I ordered a dozen! 1 Glazed, 2 chocolate covered, 1 jelly I was able to save them until I got to place I was visiting. I was able to take a picture of the chocolate covered, which I enjoyed! The doughuts are old-fashion! Like the 60's and 70's when so many doughnut shoppes made them in-house and you could smell them from miles away. Those days are over so when you come across a throwback, it is important to stop and taste them! 5 stars from me! The doughnuts were awesome! I had a "farm fresh" chocolate milk, as well. Nice and cold.....absolutely perfect! Price- reasonable Parking- plenty...right out front Vibe- owner creates a welcoming place Will I be back? When in Middletown, go to Daddy's! read more

Daddy's Donuts - Middletown, NY There's this hidden little gem in Middletown, NY that deserves more love -- Daddy's Donuts. It has that nostalgic, old-school charm and a solid variety of creative donut flavors. My favorites: 1. Classic Glazed - soft, sweet, and just perfect. 2. Guava - fruity, light, and a nice twist you don't see everywhere. 3. Nutella-Filled - rich and indulgent without being too heavy. I will say this: if you're going for the cereal-topped ones (like the Fruity Pebbles), try to get them when they're super fresh. Mine tasted a little stale, like they had been sitting out too long and the cereal hardened. Overall, though, it's worth the visit -- great flavors, affordable prices, and a fun local spot with personality. read more

On maps it says it's open we drive 35 minutes for Jack shit they aren't open maybe operate on normal business hours like Monday to Friday

Why haven't I known about this place in the over 20 years that I've lived in this area? Stopped in and spoke with the owner on a weekday later in the afternoon. He had the most incredible selection of decadent donuts. We went with a six pack and share all of them between the five of us. That is going to be my go to place from here forward for all donuts in the area. I do like glazed over over in Beacon but this place is just over the top awesome! Definitely worth the drive super nice owner as well who gave me the history of him in the pastry business with his family. The store was very clean and well kept. read more

Doughnuts were STUPID GOOD!!!! Fresh... you can absolutely tell. Soft.... Variety of flavors. I believe I met the owner while there... super nice guy, shook my hand and thanked me for my business as I checked out. Was in the middle of his morning "rush" this morning with school kids stopping by but he still took the time to be personable. Combo of this personality and KILLER doughnuts, I can see why he has 4.7 stars out of over 250 reviews. As promised to him, if the doughnuts stood up to the reviews, I would add a review myself. I was raised with a strong grip and to be a man of my word. Wish I didn't live down south in Tennessee because this would be my doughnut shop! read more

First time in and i gotta say this place is so epic. Not only are the food and donuts amazing but Giulio welcomed us so warmly and is such a kind hearted person- making us feel so comfortable immediately upon stepping into the establishment. Me and Reagan aren't from the area but will make it a goal to come back and see Giulio when we can. We weren't in for long but even in the short time it made a mark on both of us. The people really made this a special trip for us. THANK YOU GIULIO! read more

Great selection of donuts that when we came in there I didn't know what to pick! The service was fast!

This shop is right off the main road but it's definitely worth it! Fresh donuts and a wife variety of donuts and cakes. The breakfast sandwiches are simple and tasty. Clean and small spot outside to eat with dogs. Service was extremely friendly and helpful read more

Great service. If you don't see wha you want ask. They will check in back. Great donuts

My boyfriend and I came across the gem after hot air ballooning nearby. We were up since 5 AM and we needed, not lunch, but a second breakfast. ATMOSPHERE This is a no frills bakery. Food is stacked in their counters and industrial shelves. There are a few tables and chairs nearby. It is always busy. So if you're a large group, don't count on getting setting for all in your group. While its quite simple, everything here is clean. Even the bathroom is clean, clean enough for us ladies to use. :-) SERVICE The service is quite quick. Its mostly young adults behind the counter. They're perky and efficient, so expect to quickly receive your baked goods with a smile. FOOD The food is the best thing about this place. Their bread and pastries are super fresh and affordable. We bought a large super fresh lemon pie for $5. It tasted like it was made that same day. The donuts are the stars of this eatery. They have nutella fillet donuts and even donuts topped with our favorite childhood cereals like fruity pebbles. While they are pricey, they are quite large. Have one of their decadent donuts with coffee, and you'll ride a sugar high for a least 1.5 hours. read more

My sister was nice enough to pick up a Cannoli donut and a Boston Cream on a recent visit to NY! -- Cannoli Adorable that it looks like a flattened cannoli instead of a round donut! Even after the ride to MA, this tasted super fresh and the dough was incredibly soft. I didn't love the powdered sugar on top, and the cream was a bit too sweet, but I loved that it had chocolate chips throughout. Overall, creative but a bit lacking flavor-wise. Boston Cream This is a solid donut! The chocolate glaze is the standout--perfectly sweet! The dough was still relatively soft after sitting all day so I bet it was very fresh when bought. The cream was fine, nothing special. Would recommend, especially for the reasonable $1.50 price tag! -- 4/5 for solid donuts, creative flavors, & reasonable prices! read more

Food: My girlfriend goes to school around the bakery, so when I come visit her I like to stop by and grab a donut. I'll miss this place when she graduates. The donuts are very good and very addicting. The donuts are also very fresh and they keep baking them. The only thing I do not like is they are VERY greasy. I can handle grease but the oil seeps through the box. I can only imagine what it looks like in my stomach! Brew: Coffee and the usual drinks. read more

I won't mull over what others have stated and seems obvious GREAT DONUTS!! Like really great they don't offer any options in terms of buying a box I.e. Dozen, 1/2 dozen so you purchase each individually ranging from $1 -$2. Being how indecisive I can be I walked in and simply said give me 1 of everything with the donuts. I walked away with 18 donuts, A elephant ear, a GIANT cookie, coffee cake and an iced tea. Came out to $32 worth of damage it was about what i guesstimated. Eating them they are light airy donuts, from breakfast cereal, to bacon, nuts, jams/jelly/cream/pudding, and 1 cake donut (I HATE CAKE DONUTS lol) it's diverse in toppings but the donuts is the same base. Great execution nothing to complain so go out and try some the bacon maple was interesting, and the banana pudding was great. read more

Good-by Dunkin Donuts, and welcome back Mr. Daddy!! I stopped into Daddy's Donuts and Bakery on a Sunday morning of July 9th 2023. I found a friendly staff, and a very clean environment; along with large and delicious donuts. You can tell they had to be made with top quality ingredients. I met Mr. Daddy himself. He was a warm, friendly, easy going guy. Obviously his donuts are a labor of love. Thank you Mr Daddy!! I will be back! read more

Was visiting in Middletown for a wedding and decided I wanted some donuts. Apparently business is take out only with limited hours 5pm-7pm. Call ahead - 2 dozen minimum donut order

Daddy's donuts is a specialty donut and pastry business that just reopened to the public recently. I decided to check it out and here is what I experienced. I went around 9am on Saturday and there were 7 people in front of me. The selection was very limited, but there was a steady line of new trays of donuts coming out. I wanted to get a little bit of everything but only had $30 in cash on me. I didn't realize until I paid for my stuff that they accept credit/debit card also. I ended up getting a maple bacon, pb&j, cannoli, Nutella, apple fritter, raspberry rugelach, powdered jelly and sugar jelly. There were only a couple people up front working, but they were working as fast as they possible could while still being pleasant to every customer. For 6 donuts 1 pastry and a small pack of rugelach the total was $25. That is a little pricey I think for some people. But to be honest, I think most of the people that go there are familiar with their prices and know they are paying more for a quality product. My family and I tried all the items and we thoroughly enjoyed all of them. They could use some more help I think in both baking to keep up with demand and serving their customers, but finding good reliable help is hard to find and training kids who have this as their first job will take time to train properly. I rated them 4 stars because there selection was very limited. I would recommend stopping by to pick up 6 or 12 donuts if you are in the area. read more

Right off of 211, close to Touro college makes a great place for dessert or whenever you choose to eat your donuts. They've got a great bacon butterscotch donut which I can recommend. Any assortment of cookies, little puffs, tiny pies, eclairs, rugelache, brownies, cake slices, cheesecakes, muffins, and cupcakes. They also will make birthday cakes and big orders which you can pick up there. Definitely recommend to satisfy that sweet craving you have (or may have developed while reading this) #sorrynotsorry Edit (5-21-17): Tasted their tiramisu cake. Great coffee flavor, not too overwhelming and cake is soft, but a little dry read more

Passed by the place many times and wondered.....what do their donuts taste like? I am not a big donut eater but will eat one if it is higher quality like the kind from a farm shop made with apple cider. The only thing bad about Daddy's is the parking is limited. We parked on street to avoid getting blocked in the tiny lot. The place looked very clean, the donuts, huge cookies, gourmet brownies and cakes looked amazing. Got a Maple Bacon Donut stick because it looked so good. Tasted as good as it looked. Will go back again. I am sure the kids adore this place as they had offerings with sweet breakfast cereal toppings. Oh, the staff seemed very attentive and patient with us. read more

OK. I walked I this place expecting the Best Doughnuts ever after reading all the reviews. I have to say they did not disappoint. Yes, the donuts are pretty spectacular. I went with a classic chocolate frosted and was in donut heaven. Light, fluffy, fresh and topped in decadent chocolate. BEST DOUGHNUTS EVER. I really mean this. They are soft, fluffy and delicious. Unlike those trendy croissant doughnuts which are hard, dense and overpriced. These were authentic freshly made, light fluffy airy cloud-like doughnuts of heaven that melt in your mouth. The Daddy's banana cream is amazing, it taste like a Ferrero Rocher chocolate, just perfect. Aside from the doughnuts, their pastry/ pie selection are impressive and affordable. Staff is very friendly and will offer to make you any custom made craving you have. Why ever consider going to Dunkin Doughnuts or those gourmet $6 a doughnut places?! These donuts are absolutely wonderful. I was told to come here by a friend because the donuts were to die for, and that was correct. The owner is a wonderful person, who puts so much care into his delicacies that you will leave drooling, wanting more. The assortment is outstanding, with so many choices that you probably won't know what you really want and you'll leave it to a toss of a coin, or by playing eenie meenie minie moe. The food is displayed neatly and organized, rather elegant actually, to show you the array of choices for you to grab. If you want a donut, you can either go to Dunkin and get a cheap 99 cent donut that isn't very satisfying, or you can go to Daddy's Donuts and get a sugar high for breakfast. Your arteries may curse you, but your taste buds will praise you. read more

These donuts are pretty dang good. I will say, I have had better donuts but these are definitely a step up from your average donut place. I really really liked the smaller apple cider donuts, as well as the ones with fruit (like the blueberry crumble). The s'more's one was just good in my opinion, not great. The donuts here are very unique and tasty. When I visit Daddy's Donuts I try to get something different each time. whether it be donuts, brownies or even a breakfast sandwich, and I haven't been disappointed yet. What brings be back is the fluffiness of the donut. Came here over the weekend while visiting a friend. This is a sold 3.5 stars but couldn't bring myself to rate them at 3 stars. I ordered two donuts...the cookies & cream and the long nutella one that had sugar sprinkled on top. They were good! I was so happy to see a spot like this visiting upstate. I feel when it comes to food in the Monroe, Warwick, Middletown etc, area ppl base it on the options available up there than in general. I guess one could call me spoiled for having the best of every type of food living in NYC. Ha! I did wish the nutella was maybe creamier inside? It's very rich and maybe something to share for some ppl because not only is it big, but the nutella inside is thick. It was still yummy...think a churro type donut w/the sugar and the amazing nutella. The cookies and cream was yummy as well! You can tell it's fresh. I do like the fact that the donut is light but maybe wish it was a tad more dense. Again, nothing huge at all because I ate both and pretty sure I went into a diabetic coma yesterday(with no regrets). :-) My gripes with this place is: that there is no parking lot so you have to park along the street (there def was parking available along the street up ahead though), also that they were TOO SLOW! I can see I'm not the only one that has complained about this. We were on line for a little bit. I even saw a "friend" that came to the front and offered to help, and then started taking orders. Get it together people. Not only is it the holiday season but also the weekend. There needs system put in place. The workers were all over, we had to tell the girl we were paying cause she was doing something else. I get it- everyone chips in where they can, but if there is a system put in place then ppl can get out of there faster. Hopefully the owners take these reviews into consideration to improve the customer experience from here on out, because it's an awesome spot. Oh and did I mention that the prices are affordable for being fresh?! Both donuts came out to $3.75. I'll def be back to try the canolli donut and whatever else if available! read more
