So my husband and I simply popped in for a drink before heading to a gallery opening around the corner. This was not the bar we intended on going to, but our first choice was packed and I am not one to wait in line for booze.
Not certain what even Mitte was, but having a blue lit sign, a door that said open, we popped right in to this tiny space that appears to be open kitchen, bar, dining room and DJ lounge all packed into a cool vibe of a space at first glance.
Negroni? Discovering that the owners are friends with the folks that make/produce Negroni spirits, all of the cocktails on their list are Negroni spirited. They do have wine and beer as well and what appeared to be a full bar (don't quote me on that, but I am guessing that their liquor license states full bar, not beer/wine/Negroni). We went with Negroni options off their list and were delighted that they were unexpectedly cute, served in wine glasses and absolutely refreshing.
We enjoyed our drinks and were on our way in no time, but we will be back. They have 8 spots for people to sit and eat dinner, so make a reservation if you are coming. There was a DJ setting up during our time there, so note that it might be a touch loud while you are scarfing down tasty bites. We were there around 6:15PM or so on a Thursday and it was us and some girlfriends gathering at the small space at their bar. The menu appears to be Italian and I like you can see the people making the food in their tiny kitchen right there behind the bar.
Drinks were like $120 a pop, which is not cheap, but kind of in line with the area. Dinner menu items seemed fair in price.
We will give them a shot for dinner some time and would go back for drinks. read more
