Being one of the most renowned and exclusive clubs in Hong Kong, Dragon-I is the place you don't want to miss. Located on Wyndham Street, Dragon-I has a high-end and posh vibe, which is exactly what I'm looking for. Some of my male friends don't really like Dragon-I since the bouncers collect cover charge almost every time and sometimes give them a hard time. For me, I don't mind paying as long as I will have a good night. Dragon-I has amazing DJ and good ambiance. What's not to love? Unlike other clubs, Dragon-I doesn't have an actual dance floor, there're a lot of tables around the DJ area though. So, if you fancy a crazy night with a group of friends, getting a table is probably the best option, not so friendly to your wallet though. Dragon-I is perfect for after party, go around 2am to join the crowd and have a good night! Have you ever thought of going out on a Monday night? Honestly, gong out on a Monday doesn't sound that appealing to me but Dragon-I has "Models Monday" FYI. So, if you are out on a Monday night and have absolutely no idea where to go, Dragon-I is definitely your best option, or more like the only option in the hood. Where else can you party on a Monday night? I genuinely have no idea... Now, you know where to find me on a Saturday night.

Upscale, men in business suits coming to have a night out. Everyone is pretty friendly, dressed up and eager to mingle. It gets good after 11 between 12-1 people realistically start to show up. Girls need to pay cover after 11 unless you know the door lady! You can get stamped before 11 and leave and come back.

I visited Dragon-I for a weekend lunch, seeing as one of us doesn't drink, we opted for the a-la-carte menu. On first impressions this place makes an attempt at a post-modern East meets West design, attempting to I corporate traditional Chinese elements in their floral arrangements, wall paneling and lantern-style lights, and then they try to incorporate that with archetypal night club interior design-a large dimly lit bar, black concrete floors, lack booth seats, dark oak tables and bare concrete ceilings. I wish I could say that it's gives a pleasant dining experience, but it really isn't. Overall, the interior design seems disruptive as The presence of the DJ Booth literally makes me feel like im eating on the dance floor. They have a beautiful bar, and the outdoor area looks like a great place for dining, but they might want to give their indoor dining area a little more attention- I'm genuinely not feeling it. I've had the deep fried crab claws, which don't look particularly impressive, but to my surprise the crab and shrimp was very fresh, and even had a slight sweetness to it. The xiaolongbao were soft, thin skinned and very soupy, the pork filling itself was very tender, the shrimp was very fresh, and had a pleasant crunch to it. The chicken with fish maw was also great, the chicken was tender and juicy, the fish maw practically melted in my mouth. The pork spare ribs are also tender and well seasoned, I can really taste the black beans in the pork. The turnip cake was thick, and frankly a little too heavy on the flour, I think it could do with a little more turnip. That being said, it does have a good balance between turnip cake and the additional fillings of dried meats and seafood. The white pepper was a nice touch. The char siu bao (BBQ Pork bun) is great- the bun itself is very light and they don't overfill the bun, so it's well balanced. The vegetarian dumplings are filled with a type of gourd- it's really crunchy and again offers a very subtle sweetness. The char siu flour rolls were alright. I'd prefer to have more succulent char siu, but at least it was fragrant. The filo pastry on the outside was nice in that it had a slight elasticity. Overall, this place has good food. They know it and charge you a premium for it. Oddly enough, it seems the kitchen team missed the memo since the presentation on pretty much every dish they served except the dumplings looked a bit off. If I was wealthier, I might even come back again.

    All-you-can-eat dim sum lunch!

Have to wear nice shoes to get inside. In addition the club is small, but I would plan on going to Dragon I and looking at bottle service.

Getting to try it in Hong Kong, the home of Dimsum, I thought this was going to be a 10/10. Yeah, not quite. The wrapping of each dishes were thicker than most places, so that was already offputting. That plus the taste of the fillings inside the xiao long baos, it's like you eat one and you already feel fed up and over it. And then there was no Har Gow in the menu, one of the most essential in a dimsum restaurant... Price was also much more expensive than your typical dimsum places in Hong Kong, and then some outrageous charges like $12 for tea per person, when it's literally one teapot at a table... and adding an additional 10% if you want to take the dishes to go if you don't finish... Yeah, this is a hard no. The only reason why I'm even giving it a two star rating is because customer service was spectacular and the tea was pretty tasty.

Wild recommendations encouraged us to visit today. Located inside of a shopping mall on the fourth…read morefloor, at 8pm it was loaded with mainly Asians consumers. No reservations taken but no waiting for us. We were seated immediately. A menu was provided that described about fifty choices in Chinese and English. I lack a taste for the exotic so the six items we selected had vegetables, chicken, beef, pork, or shrimp. We are less adventurous than some and, without guidance, stuck to ingredients of some familiarity. Rather than bringing all at once, there was a measured pace for delivery to our table. As dim sum lovers, we dug in. The experience of robust flavors and the environment combined to give us a genuine Hong Kong experience. Our total bill was less than $100US.

Sportful Garden (what kind of a name is that?) does a pretty good job, creating new dishes as well as refreshing the staples, like the super long spring rolls. If you can hang on for a little bit and come in after two, you get the happy hour price which is 40% off many dishes plus some staple dim sum dishes for HK$14-18 (like, US$2). Early birds before noon gets a discount too. They also have roasted pigeon for $33 (US$4) each, and even provide gloves for you to enjoy with your hands. While I very much want to order the super-instagram-worthy birdcage dim sum set (I've taken a pic of the menu if not the real thing), my sensible mom insisted that we order from the discounted menu. I managed to get the piggies though (with purple yam filling). I simply have a weakness for ordering things so cute I suffer a pang of guilt eating them. My favorite is the sponge cake, so light yet creamy, but all dishes, including the noodles, are delicious.

Situated at the very top of the isquare mall in TST, it's a convenient location both for Kowloon and HK siders. The restaurant itself is a beautifully bright space with amazing panoramic views. It's quite modern/upscale and would be a good place to go for work lunches etc but you won't get any nasty looks rocking up in shorts/tshirts etc... (i went there in gym gear). The food...wow. I thought after 30+ years of eating chinese food i'd pretty much seen every iteration of a spring roll. I was mistaken. Granted it's hard to make the case for a spring roll to be the standout dish at yum cha but i've never seen them done like this (pictures attached). Each one is about 20cm long and stuffed with juicy fresh shrimp. I have it on good authority that they are also a massive crowd pleaser for kids too. Other than that, every dish was equally superb and fresh. All the usual suspects (har gao, siu mai, lo bak gou, char siu sou) were top notch; fresh, juicy, thin skins. The lo mai gai was another standout - not the usual stodgy, dense, overly sticky lump; rather it was surprisingly light and the meat didn't taste at all congealed, with just enough glutinous-ness to make the rice sit neatly. And the crispy pork cubes...oh the crispy pork cubes. I'd been craving these for over a year since the only offerings to be found in NY are better described as lumps of soggy fat with a micro film of crispy skin and occasionally a bit of pork. All in all an amazing feed. Adding it to the list of regular places to hit in HK.

The atmosphere is business casual and somewhat more upscale than local eateries since it's located inside one of the ubiquitous shopping mall buildings found on every corner in HK's touristy Kowloon TST area. Unfortunately once the food started coming, meh, my expectation didn't meet the reality. I wish I could describe a dish I really enjoyed, but I don't really have anything noteworthy highlight to mention. We did finish everything we ordered, so nothing was horrible either. We came during a prime lunch time and it was easy to find a seat. They also cook the food at the time of the order instead of the traditional dim sum restaurants with the pushing carts. I did like the idea that the food was made to order, and I could see the kitchen from where I was sitting.

They gave us a booklet along with the paper to fill out, and most of the dim sum was the classic dim sum that I'm accustomed to. Their chiu chou fun gor was alright for me. They did put a good amount of peanuts in here but the exterior was a bit heavier on the dough side. Their siu mai and har gow were pretty good. Their cheung fun wasn't the silky light type, so I was just alright with it. Their Chicken with Sticky Rice wraped in Lotus Leaf was huge though, way bigger than those in Los Angeles. Their fresh mango custard roll was my highlight though, as they had chunks of mango in the middle and it was sweet. Would try this again. I think the one other aspect of this place is the interior is really clean, and they have a decent amount of tables inside. Service is a bit more attentive as the area isn't as large.
