This place is okay. However one time I went here there was a hair in a shrimp that my dad was eating. It was completely stuck in there so got it out a little. We called the manager over, but she didn't take it seriously. Like she didn't believe us. Then she apologized and gave us a coupon for $5 off our next visit. And there was another's time we went for lobster. They were so small and 1 person took almost all of them, so there wasn't any left. We had to wait for 30 minutes more for the next batch but my dad complained to the manager again and told her the problem and she said she would tell the chefs to make more. If something is so popular like the lobster, shouldn't you have an extra tray ready when you run out? Overall the food is okay. But I don't think I would come back. Update: I went again because my dad wanted to go. I got the udon noodle soup with shrimp, zucchini, imitation crab meat, and mushrooms. Later when I was eating, I saw a hair strand on the zucchini. I was so disappointed. My dad called the waiter who later told the manager. He came and said sorry and tried to explain that the chefs wear hats and stuff and tried to blame it on the people who get the vegetables. They gave us "another" coupon for the next visit. First time here and ate from 4:45-5:20. Lots of options as far as food goes. Only about 7 different types of Sushi rolls and they are the one's you would find under the "cheaper options" at normal sushi spots. The veggie tempura was cold and hard and was actually difficult to eat. For $20 its not bad, but the majority of the food I tried wasn't even warm anymore. I love sushi and am not a picky eater but don't think I'll be coming back here anytime soon. read more

This is my second time at this place. First time was around 2 years ago. Sept 30, Came here on a busy Sunday afternoon around 1 p.m the food was amazing. There were so many choices to choose from and I've got to say you really get your money's worth. I believe in the weekends prices are $14.99 per person. On the weekdays lunch prices are around $9.99 and dinner prices are around $11.99. We were seated and right away they asked us what to drink then went to get our food. The food was hot and fresh even their sushi was really good! Although there really wasn't a lot of desserts to choose from they had good Chinese food. Next time I visit Clovis I'm sure I'll be back. Kajima down the street was closed so we thought we try our luck with Mitsui. Bad idea. We arrived at 11:30am thinking that everything would be fresh for the lunch crowd. Wrong. Everything was left over from the night before. The rice in the sushi was crunchy (signs of being refrigerated over night). All of the "hot" items were barely warm. I didn't wanna believe the bad reviews so my wife and i went to try mitsui for ourselves. It really was that bad. it was more chinese than japanese. They were even playing chinese music and the sushi chef was speaking chinese. My wife could not swallow the sushi. The fish was not fresh, and the rice they used for the sushi was all wrong. The bbq pork and spare ribs was coated in sugary red stuff and tough as leather. The chicken items were edible but i can have that stuff anywhere. Can I get sushi? Yes. Can I get some other Chinese items I like, such as Orange Chicken? Yes. Is it the greatest Chinese ever? No. But it's $9.99. I was really in need of a salad and sushi today. worst buffet ever! pork feet is tough as a piece of tire, no sashimi, and the sushi sucks, i ask for the grill to cook my pork and shrimp with no soy sauce, no sugar or not sweet and still they put soy sauce and sweet molasses or something, so bad. its not worth your money and time. This place is gross and their staff is rude. While I understand it is a buffet and not exactly the epitome of cleanliness, this buffet was pretty disgusting. Their ice cream scoopers sit in a bin, used with nowhere to rinse off. Their tables are sticky even after being wiped off. The sashimi is solidly frozen when they put it out, their sushi is sloppy and falls apart easily. One of the men in my group called me the next day to tell me that he thought the food had made him sick. The bathrooms are beyond filthy. The men in my group actually complained about how awful it was, and I feel like men don't normally comment so fervently on things like that. Also, check your bill before you pay it. I have found errors on my bill, and have found that a few people I know who have eaten there have also been charged incorrectly. When they give you your check at the table, the waiters actually point at the tip line of the bill. I do tip, but I find that to be extremely tasteless. They are extremely rude when you bring it up to them at the front desk that your bill is wrong. The party I took here agreed unanimously we would not be bringing our business here again. Go eat at one of the various other buffets in the area if you can. Avoid this one. read more

Popped in today to have lunch with my daughter. The food was of average quality, but the service was lacking. I never received the drink I ordered. After for waiting quite a long time for our check and not receiving it, we went to the register. I informed the lady at the counter that we had not received either our drinks or the bill. She apologized and went to speak with one of the busboys/servers. She returned and apologized and stated that the server/busboy wanted to pay $10 toward our lunch. I was taken aback! I refused and said that I would pay for our food, and that I didn't want to take any money away from him. She then went into a glass container (I assume it was his tip jar) and pulled out $5 and said "he wants to pay". I left his money on the counter and paid our bill in cash (she did give me a 20% discount at that time). This is a highly disturbing practice, and I believe (hope) that it is not legal, It seems an abusive way to treat your employees. Please note that I was not irate in any way when complaining about my drink (I just didn't want to pay for a drink I never received). I find this very disturbing indeed, and my heart goes out to the line level employees at this place. I won't return and support a business that treats its employees like this. Shame! read more

When I used to go to clovis to visit my ex we'd go here for crab. I should say he went there for crab; a little to messy for me. The food is good. Nothing to write home about but it's a buffet so you can't expect to much. According to my ex and other acquaintances that indulge in the large crab legs, they are very good. Going back for thirds good. The sushi is rather bland. Every roll is basically a California roll with a different sauce on the top but they do have sashimi so I just grab a few pieces of a choice roll and slap some sashimi on it back at my table.
