The menu has possibly every single thing you could be craving from all day breakfast, to burgers, salads, soups and sweet treats The service is always friendly and fast, with us being seated upon arrival. The calm yet fun music also is a nice touch. I got the veggie quesadilla that comes packed with veggies and a side salad. The plate is a generous portion and I was able to save some for home. The salsa, and sour cream were the perfect touch for the quesadilla. Overall, I most definitely will be back

The biggest surprise for me was the Barolo Braised Short Ribs over whipped potatoes. The portion was huge, the short rib was fork-tender, and the quality honestly felt more like something you'd expect from a full-service restaurant. This was diner food elevated. They also make their desserts in-house downstairs. I tried the individual apple pie and strawberry cheesecake, and I loved that each one was its own little pie instead of just a slice. Both were adorable and delicious. Imperial Diner also has a full bar, curbside pickup and an outdoor patio when the weather is nice. You really don't have to be a "diner person" to enjoy this place. Between the food quality, huge variety and genuinely kind family behind it, Imperial Diner absolutely deserves to be in the conversation with the better diners on Long Island. We had dinner at Mitchell's Restaurant to celebrate an (adult) family birthday. We chose the restaurant based on reviews of friends and location. We were able to park on a street nearby - at no charge! - and walk to the restaurant and then to small theatre nearby. The restaurant is small and simple and almost a bit rustic inside. We were glad we'd made reservations, even for our relatively early dinner on a Tuesday night. Thankfully, on this particularly hot and humid evening, it was air-conditioned. The food was excellent. As was the service. Since the restaurant is around the corner from Paramount, it's no surprise to see Hollywood celebs dining here as well. read more

Hello, I'm writing to share my feedback from my recent visit to Mitchell's Restaurant with my wife. The staff were exceptionally friendly and provided great service. As a chef with 10 years of experience, I wanted to share some constructive comments. We enjoyed our meals, but had a few suggestions. The Nova bagel was delicious, but it would be helpful to clarify on the menu that it's served open-faced. Additionally, while the burger was flavorful, the french fries and onion rings were overly oily and could be improved with a crisper preparation. My family and I ate at Mitchell's in Valley Stream it was a horrific experience! The food was horrible and the service equally bad! I know that this establishment opened in 1938 but I didn't know that the mentality of the servers were still stuck in 1938 when it comes to people of color!! So sad Mitchell's shame on you! My seven year old grandson got his first lesson in true ignorance!! Needless to say I will never return nor would I ever recommend this restaurant!! read more
