Having been here for dinner twice, I think, when it first opened, I had not had an opportunity to come back until recently. I am glad that I did. Our neighborhood organization has a regular series of meetings here this fall, called Cocktails and Candidates, for our local Boulder City Council and Mayor positions. Not all candidates could be accommodated but several were chosen because of their relevance to our neighborhood problems and their willingness to show up. Mister Oso is located on the plaza of the MOXY hotel, though not inside the hotel. This development opened a few years ago, replacing a very worn out, off campus shopping center portion of the Hill Business District. I am very pleased that the project turned out so well, as I have lived nearby for over 50 years. At these events we each buy our own food and drinks, but the staff of Mister Oso serves our group on the reserved patio. Each time I have come, my drink was tasty and fairly priced. I had dinner at home both times, once before the event and once after the event, which runs from 5pm to 7pm. Some attend for the full two hours, some drop in late, some leave early, depending on their personal schedules. So far, we have been lucky to have had good weather. I am glad we have a neighborhood liaison position in our group to facilitate these events. It was also a good reminder for me to stop in here again soon for some more tasty food and drinks. read more

The design is right up my alley, TONSSSS of plants, bright colors, bold prints. I love it because it strikes instantaneous happiness. I don't usually comment on the bathrooms but I really appreciate how clean, decorated (wallpaper and tiles) and perfumed the restrooms were. They are all individual unisex rooms and they were nice. The restaurant itself has plenty of windows and light and space. There were hits and misses with our meal. I really liked the Brussels Sprouts salad but I think it would be better with the cotija cheese mixed into it as well as on top. It needed more salt. The salad is best if you get every component in one bite. You can pass on the guacamole. I love how generous they were but it was also lacking salt. It also needed more onion and maybe a sprinkling of tomatoes. The coconut shrimp tacos were great! All the components worked very well together. Beware the sauce is a bit spicy. It's the perfect amount. The churros were amazing! I usually like a good width on the churros to make sure I get enough of softer inside but I didn't mind that these were skinny. It wasn't over fried. It was pretty well cooked and I really enjoyed that brown butter sauce. Make space for dessert. read more

Not a bad bite!! From chips and all 3 sauces. The margaritas are fresh and fabulous. The queso is interesting and could be a main dish for me! Every taco that I tried was "my favorite" so you can't go wrong. I know there are a lot of restaurants out there that serve tacos, chips and salsa, guac. and queso, but the freshness is real at Mister Oso! And, this one is in a beautiful and energetic setting. The mountains, the energy of the CU campus, and the restaurant itself is lovely. Classy decorations and lots of windows. The patio is great and the service is always sincere and wonderful. Another five star dining experience with Drew and the gang at Mr. Oso Boulder! Someday I'll be able to show you the food before we eat it. But let me just say it goes fast. And I'm so excited. I've been to the one in Denver but this location just opened in May 2025. It's got an Amazon jungle vibe and an inviting decor. There's light Latin music playing in the background. Our waitress Roz was so nice! We ordered the mini queso and gordo crunch tacos as appetizers. Both were delicious! For our lunch, we get the mahi mahi tacos and the tuna agua chile. For dessert, we got the churros and mango sorbet. My friend who's from Peru mentioned the tuna agua chile reminded of her of back home. We were both delighted with the overall taste of everything! I actually didn't like think I would like the mango sorbet but it surprised me...it was sweet and tangy at the same time with some crumbled shavings that added a slight crunch. The churros were delicious but of course very filling. Prices were good. read more

I really wanted to love this place. It's new and clean with nice ambiance and good service but the food didn't hold up. The coconut shrimp tacos were fine if it was $5. Costco quality over fried shrimp with tortillas that were cold and not fresh. Drinks were fine but the restaurant didn't hold up to its ratings. read more

We had dinner last night at a new spot in Boulder, and it was such a good find. There were four of us, and the whole night had a great vibe--fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and solid service. We tried a few different dishes and would definitely recommend the Tuna Crudo, Cauliflower Tacos, Birria Tacos, and the Green Curry Tacos. Everything was fresh and flavorful without trying too hard. We were surprise to see this new restaurant open on the Hill. We popped in for a quick Happy Hour drink and a bite. It was decorated very tropical breezy feel. Perfect spot to pre-game a show at the Fox Theater, this new outpost of a Denver fave was a wonderful surprise. Housed in a new-build, adjacent to the Moxy Hotel, the interior is light-filled and gorgeous, not too loud and a total Boulder vibe. In addition to tasty tacos, we really enjoyed their take on a wedge salad and couldn't resist the cauliflower. A perfect Paloma topped off a completely satisfying meal and our server, Liv, gets a shoutout for attentive care with a smile and plenty of teamwork with the other staff. Absolutely amazing! I was staying at the hotel right next to them, and I just went to the restaurant because it was the only one open at night. It was so good that I went back again. We used Yelp to select this spot for a quick lunch before an appointment at the Apple Store. We had a limited amount of time as we got stuck in traffic, yet they were able to get a wonderful meal for us in a very short time. My spouse and son got the hard-shell tacos with "Mom's taco meat". I got the pork tacos with the charred onions. Each of us felt we had a 5-star experience. The pork had unusual flavors of smokiness and slight spiciness with an amazing character to the onions I've never experienced before as well as a tender pork that resonated with several different ways to my mouth. The guys hardly spoke as they inhaled their tacos. We were short on time and I just wanted to sit in that lovely place with lots of natural light, lots of open space, outdoor seating. I was bummed that we left so soon to make our appointment as I was so pleasantly full and relaxing in the ambiance of the place which is quite close to UC Boulder Campus.
