I love supporting businesses like this that care so deeply for our men and women service members and veterans. My wife and I ordered takeout over a memorial Weekend from Mission BBQ and it was a solid choice. I had an order of ribs and my wife got the pulled pork. We shared a pint of Mac and cheese, a pint of coleslaw and corn bread comes with it (which is delicious). Due to not being able to eat at the restaurant and had to take it home I put my food in the toaster oven for a little while to warm back up. I'm not sure if it was me reheating it or not but the ribs were a little on the drier side. They still had a good flavor but needed bbq sauce. My wife isn't a huge bbq person but she enjoyed her pulled pork and had enough for lunch the next day. We tried a few bbq sauces: Memphis Belle, Bay-B-Que, Smokey Mountains, and Tupelo Honey. For the last few years I've been to at least a dozen, if not more Mission BBQ locations. The one reason why we return every time we see one is because you always know what you're going to get - and that is consistency. It's one of the few East Coast chains that deliver the same solid BBQ everytime you walk through the door no matter which location you visit. When we are in the south Mission BBQ isn't our first choice. On the other hand, when were in Pennsylvania it's always a go to spot. This far north you're going to be far-fetched to find better BBQ. It blows away what you would get at a comparable chain like Smokey Bones. Nevertheless, if you're one that travels often it doesn't compare to other chains like Jim and Nick's or 4 Rivers Smokehouse (other regional chains). Don't get the wrong idea though there is absolutely wrong nothing with Mission BBQ, which is why we return often. The one thing that's odd is there's a few of their locations that don't do a good job with BBQ. Fortunately, none of those are in Pennsylvania and we have visited all but one of their Pennsylvania locations. If you're in the mood for barbecue you'll enjoy your experience here. We often choose the two or three meat combo, which enables us to try several meats and then you can order your favorite next time you visit. I think their best meat is their brisket. It's normally tender and has a lot of flavor. The pulled pork is always dry, but somehow brings a lot of flavor, which is the same scenario you run into with the turkey. It's always dry, but does have flavor and goes well with their mustard-based BBQ sauce. The pulled chicken is fair to. The one drawback with Mission is their sides are just average. The exception to the rule is their french fries. These hand-cut fries are the best side they offer and if you walk over between the two drink machines and sprinkle on some Old Bay they taste even better. If you're a french fry fan you need to order these. Another positive thing about Mission BBQ is that they offer eight different BBQ sauces. There are six on the table and then two between the drink dispensersn, which is normally the mustard and the vinegar-based. Some locations also offer an Alabama like white sauce and often a few others. What this means is there's a barbecue sauce in this restaurant for everyone. The other good news is that this is a large, roomy restaurant that allows people to spread out and enjoy the experience and friendly service. The other thing is they probably have the best sweet tea in Pennsylvania and great lemonade. When you add all this together you'll find a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner without spending too much money. read more

Went here for the first time ever. The cashier was extremely nice and helpful. Definitely a great attitude to have. She explained the menu very well and ordered a combo. Seating area was very spacious and the fresh food came out fairly quick. Delicious brisket and chicken meal. Mac and Cheese was in point as well. I thought thr corn bread was a bit too hard, but i don't like corn bread anyway. Sauce options were plentiful and tasty. I kept switching back and forth from each one. It's on the border of fast food and a dine-in restaurant. The menu panels above describe your options of 'just meat' and 'meat in bread.' I ordered the brisket meat market ('just meat') with corn bread. Two minutes or less passed, and I received the oversized metal tray for the two items. There are six sauces on every table with descriptions colorful in your mind and little of how it'll taste on your tongue. Not worth what they charge. $15 for a mediocre fast food meal. I ordered ahead on the website and my meal should have been ready about 20 minutes before I got to the counter. Nope. Here is the breakdown of why I don't think it's that great. Brisket was super salty, and too much connective tissue in the pound we had. Pulled chicken was tasteless and dry. It was somewhat cold as well. The ribs had decent flavor, but were so salty it killed any smokiness. The Mac and cheese was great, easily my favorite thing on the menu. We shared a pint of Mac and cheese and a pint of coleslaw. After digging in, we had some coleslaw and half of my pork left making for another great meal the next day at lunchtime. We tried a few bbq sauces: Memphis Belle (good), Bay-B-Que (ok), Smokey Mountains (too smokey for me!), and my favorite: the Tupelo Honey bbq sauce! We will def be enjoying Mission BBQ again when our bbq loving family comes around. My favorite part of the meal was the amazing, sweet, crisp crust cornbread that came with each entree - next time I want more! This is solely based on their food. The service was good but the food was not. Their coleslaw and BBQ sauce are the best things on the menu. Two years ago on my birthday we spent over $100 getting just about everything off of the menu to try and EVERYTHING was a disappointment. The brisket was as dry as the bottom of my shoe on an August day, the ribs as well, the sausage was over cooked. To me it seems like they prep much more than they sell and let it sit in a warmer for WAY TOO long. Honestly, even the Mac and cheese that people rave about was dried out due to sitting too long. So today we passed by and thought you know what let's give them another shot and to no surprise the food was the same as it was then. I will never Come back to this establishment again. I really dislike leaving bad reviews but I don't know what all they hype is. They need to learn how to keep their products fresh as true BBQ is supposed to be moist and tender.
