We started off with appetizers- which are really great for sharing- perogies for the Hubby and I had the liver dumpling soup- both were fantastic. Hubby had the German mixed salad with his meal, the special was sausage with both chicken and pork Schnitzel and potatoes, I had the sauerbraten with potatoes and we both had a side of the sauerkraut. We took a To-Go of the stuffed chicken breast with mozzarella and spinach and soup, with broccoli and an order of perogies. 2 Root beers, and he had the apple strudel and I ordered the Bienenstich. Our server was Karen- I want to give a huge thank you to her, she was an absolute delight, sweet, friendly and made sure our dinner was perfect, she is wonderful and next time we come for dinner, we hope she is our waitress. Food was incredible, I have not had "family" style German food in probably 13 years if not longer- I used to eat all the time at Alpine Village in Torrance Ca and at Phoenix Club in Brea Ca- both I was a long time foodie at, and never had a bad meal! It is so great to know that Sebastian's is our new place for delicious German food. Dinner for the 3 was roughly $180.00, but before you say "that's a lot", the food is delicious, the wait staff is amazing and both my husband and I gladly pay good money for fantastic food, like what we had here at Sebastian's.

Unfortunately, there was a strong cold draft at floor level, leaving our feet uncomfortably cold throughout the meal. The hostess was sweet and greeted us with a smile. The food service was unremarkable. Our waiter was not particularly friendly nor personable. The drinks were a weak start. The red sangria was poor. The bourbon cocktail was an odd mix of bourbon, apple cider, and other elements--an awkward, Frankenstein-style whiskey sour that simply didn't work. Worst of all, both drinks were served in thin plastic cups, which immediately cheapened the entire experience. I ordered the falafel sandwich and specifically requested a toasted bun. It arrived not just room temperature, but cold. I sent it back, and it returned burning hot... the bottom soggy... literally too hot to pick up... with no browning or color change, clearly microwaved. Microwaving is not toasting. At that point, the sandwich was inedible. I removed the bun entirely and ate just the falafel, which was dry and largely tasteless. At this point I knew coming back to this restaurant was a mistake. Food timing was another issue. The dishes took roughly 45 minutes to arrive after the drinks, possibly longer. We were all getting annoyed and what started out well when we first walked in turned negative. I wasn't impressed on my first visit years ago... and this second visit confirmed it. Between the poor drinks, cheap plastic cups, ridiculously long wait (with no explanation nor apology), and careless food execution, there's no reason to return.

But what we got was breakfast awesomeness. It's small, with a cozy, "country" feel, as you might expect. Cute. Coffee was strong and plentiful, served in those great diner-style mugs that keep things piping hot for a good long time. Servers were totally on top of their game (the place was jumpin' so they really had to be) and all had that combination of "I'm super nice and glad you're here, but don't you dare slow me down" goodness. And the food? The food was fantastic! Each of the five people in our group got something different, and everyone was super happy with what they got, from cinnamon-raisin French toast with apple butter to a garden vegetable skillet to corned beef hash eggs Benedict. I went simple with a breakfast sandwich with a fluffy scrambled egg, thick-cut pork roll, and Cooper sharp on the lightest, airiest Kaiser roll I've ever had. And do no sleep on their thick cut bacon, which is meaty and delicious and coated in a buttery mapley goodness that tasted like Heaven. Things to note: they only take cash, and on the weekends, there's an hour limit (meaning you can't dawdle) so they don't have lines piling up outside. Breakfast for five of us was just under $80, so reasonably priced. We had a great time. And the next time we go, it'll be because it's just a great spot.

Once you enter through the store, there is a sign to wait to be seated. The place has a nice and bright rustic vibe to it. I really liked the decor and table setup. Even the napkins had a rustic vibe. Started off with the potato scoop ($16) which was my fave item. The potato was shaped like the Fritos scoop chip, and the cheese dip that came with it had chunks of cheese in a melted cheese sauce. For my main, got the pulled pork sandwich ($16), which came in a pretzel knot bun and creamy slaw. It was solid meal and very filling. Other mains ordered were the roast beef "pho" style sandwich ($16) which I had a bite of and it was good and not what I expected thinking roast beef. Roast turkey ($16) was warm and also tasty. Each of the mains came with a side of potato salad. I will be back to try the sloppy Joe and their dinner meals. I highly recommend this place if you want tasty, high quality meal for a fair price. * Highly recommend making reservations on weekends * Street parking * Good service

I've been on a quest for Prime Rib! So, I decided to try Grumpy's. Always ordered rare, which means…read moreyou get medium rare at all the places I've tried. I've had tender, cut with a fork prime rib years ago, but I cannot this elusive cut anywhere in the Lehigh Valley. The places I've tried were all good, but none were great! I've tried prime rib at Millers Ale House, Prime Steakho.use, Texas Roadhouse, Outback, Longhorn. While the seasoning and taste varies from place to place; the one common element is having to saw the steak with a knife to cut it. This results in excessive chewing of the meat. This really reduces overall enjoyment of the prime rib experience. To get what I want from a prime rib experience will probably require paying $60 plus dollars and a long drive from the Lehigh Valley. Grumpy's of course serves smoked prime rib. I love smoked meats but not when it comes to prime rib I discovered. So, I won't be getting the $32 dollar, 16oz prime rib there again. I will be ordering the blackened bleu cheese burger with bacon and the ribs again! Onion rings a must for me. The side salad (adds $2) is excellent! Not just iceburg lattuce. I chose cole slaw as a side' it's good but their style of pink cole slaw is not for me. You get a piece of corn bread, but it's tiny and totaly underwhelming compared to cornbread elsewhere. The staff is courteous, attentive, and friendly. The ambience leaves much to be desired. To me feels like a bikers bar, which it is not. At the end of the day Grumpy's gets a B+ in my book and I will occasionally visit for lunch or dinner. Note: Their Au Jus is highly recommended and is not served with the meal. Must be asked for and you'll be glad you did!

Roadhouse is the perfect word for this place. It's packed with Americana and has a really homey, laid-back feel. I wish it were closer to where I live because there were a lot of things on the menu I'd love to come back and try--especially the Creole/Cajun options. This visit I went with the wings and the gumbo. The wings were smoked and really good, and the gumbo was just as tasty. It also looks like they can pack a crowd in here--they've got a bunch of live music acts scheduled through January. If this place were closer, I'd be here a lot more often. That said, anytime I'm heading back to Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays, this will definitely be part of the same-day plan.
