I was confused and unsure what I was eating. The ground beef wasn't bad, but my main complaint at a Mexican Eatery nearby (Plaza Azteca} is the same. The ground beef is unseasoned. This is fundamentally wrong to me. All the Taco Kits at the grocery store come with a seasoning packet to add to the ground beef when preparing the tacos. I left unhappy, that's not to say I wouldn't try their burrito's. They looked good as seen on other patrons tables. I'm 70 years old and the theme of Cali reminds me of the 60's/70's. The decor, interior, and interior are psychedelic. Retro throwback to the hippie days. The staff reflects that theme - they came across in a kind weird way to me; but not in a bad way! And I usually have to pull into a parking spot to wait for my order. I always make sure to check my receipt after I pay. They will randomly enter sauces or drinks without asking. I always clarify my choices at the second window which they fix. But if my order ends up going through the parking lot they never remember/pass the change along. However, compared to the MacArthur location, the fries here are always warm/hot and salted perfectly. During a previous visit, I placed and paid for a mobile order but never received my food. After waiting approximately 20 minutes for curbside pickup, I went inside for help. The manager struggled to understand my order, and I was told the restaurant could not issue a refund because the order was placed through the app. I filed a complaint and never received a response. Unfortunately, today's experience was disappointing for a different reason. I placed and paid for another mobile order, but at the drive-thru I was told the order was invalid, even after showing proof of payment. The manager on duty, Susan, was dismissive, argumentative, and unwilling to help resolve the situation. I was left feeling ignored and disrespected. I do want to recognize Donna, who eventually stepped in. She listened, showed understanding, treated me professionally, and helped resolve the issue. I appreciate her willingness to help, especially after the interaction I had with Susan. Donna deserves recognition for how she handled the situation. What makes this especially frustrating is that I am a regular customer. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect employees and management to treat customers respectfully and make a reasonable effort to resolve problems. Having two separate mobile-order issues and disappointing management interactions is concerning. I hope the franchise owner and McDonald's take these experiences seriously, investigate what happened, and address the customer service issues. Donna deserves an A++ for her professionalism. Unfortunately, my experience with Susan was an F. I would like to continue visiting this location, but these experiences have seriously affected my confidence in the restaurant.
