Ordered the Texas tommy sub. And small Wally chips. Perfect lunch! A little heavy on the mayo side but great sandwich. Also used door dash for my order and it was very convenient! read more

Wally's Deli is a hoagie shop located at the corner of Tilghman and N 17th St. in Allentown. This is the only place in town to get a Hog Sandwich. Make sure to bring your appetite because these sandwiches are huge! All sandwiches are available in small, medium, large, and supersized. You also have the option to "unhog" your sandwich which is all the ingredients without the bread. I ordered Wally's Decker which is one of their specialty hogs. It's made with American cheese, baked ham, turkey, bacon, and mayonnaise. Phenomenal! One of the best, if not the best, sandwiches I've ever had. Wally's Decker - 8.5 Food - 8.5 Service - 8.1 Value - 8.1 Restaurant score - 82 read more

Wally's Deli - Wally's Decker Hog - Delis Near Me - Allentown, Pennsylvania

Very good! Been going here since college (since it was down the street) finally stopped back in for old times sake and was glad I did! I always got Wally decker (mayo both sides) and my fiancé tried the Wildebeest (was a bit spicy for me but he liked in!) both sandwiches were massive (I didn't remember them being so large? lol) and with homemade chips. The ladies working were very sweet and there was plenty of parking and seating inside. Would recommend!!! read more

My family was traveling north after vacation and needed a breakfast to go. We found Wally's, called in an order and ran in to grab our breakfast sandwiches. We were too hungry to take photos. We got four breakfast sandwiches and a wrap. They threw in a bag of house made chips. The sandwiches were huge. My husband ran in the grab the order and said everyone was very friendly. The food was ready when we arrived. We are grateful to have homemade breakfast and not fast food on the road. read more

Got to try chicken salad sandwich and grilled cheese sandwich. Look forward to trying their hoagies, esp with summer almost here. read more

The Good: "HOME OF THE HOG." Wally's doesn't skimp on filling the Hogs with meat and cheese that is evenly distributed giving a blended flavor in every bite! Most are topped with our homemade sauces. Some contain homemade Thousand Island dressing, others have sauces made with horseradish or jalapeño sauce. Among Specialty Hogs containing several kinds of meat are the Hoofty, Porky, Sassy, Zinger and Boss Hog. Despite their names, not every Hog contains ham or bacon- the Tommy, for example, contains turkey. And the most popular is the meatless Veggie. Owned by Wally and Sue Roberts, Wally's began as just another hoagie shop when it opened in Emmaus in 1989. But the couple had a conflict with another restaurant in the same strip mall already having hoagies on it's menu. Facing a possible lawsuit, a few changes were made and the "Hog" was born. Now they say what happened was a blessing in disguise. Six months later they added the Allentown location which through the years has had the opportunity to grow adding a grill and fryer while offering breakfast. Sue runs the Emmaus shop and Wally, along with their daughter, Alisha, take care of Allentown. The Bad: The prices are high and I know a lot of people that simply won't go there any more, just for that reason. I live just 3 blocks from Wally's and work 3 blocks from Wally's too. Wally's wife Sue is mean and vindictive. I won't go there anymore despite the food is good. I got into a petty argument with Sue because I ordered a pork roll and American cheese sandwich on a roll over the phone. She kept asking me if I wanted pork roll, egg, and cheese. So I was annoyed after she asked a 2nd time and I said I told you exactly what I want and that's it. She went into a verbal diatribe about how she must ask me if I want egg too. I said why don't you ask me if I want tuna while your at it. She got angry, and mean, so I hung up the phone. I like pork roll and American cheese a lot and felt bad and decided to give them a 2nd chance. But this time I went into the store and she blew up at me saying I ordered the sandwhich before and never picked it up and stiffed them. I said I never ordered anything, I started to order but hung up when she got nasty. Wally came over and I explained what happened and offered to pay for the sandwhich they claimed I stiffed the with. He wouldn't take the money and we cleared the air. 2 weeks later I go back for a pork roll fix and Wally wasn't there. Sue remembered me and with a scowl and a fould mood she took mt order and tried to make me get an egg again. I said - I told you EXACTLY what I want and egg was not mentioned. SHe thru a huffy fit, then Sue shorted the pork roll on my sandwhich and I told her so. I brought it back and said Wally puts 3 slices of pork roll when I order it. SHe insisted that was a mistake, but Wally had explained that when orderin just pork roll and American cheese - he puts 3 slices of pork roll to make up for not getting the eggs. Normally pork roll, egg, and cheese come with 2 slices or pork roll. Lol! Sue insisted I was lying and I simply asked for my money back because I was NOT going to pay $7 for the sandwhich with just 2 slices of pork roll on it. I got my money and a ton of lip service. NEVER GOING BACK! End of silly but true story. read more

Breakfast is the best around. From the Hen House four egg/ two meat breakfast burrito and the Cheesy Hen, a trike decker breakfast grilled cheese with two meats, to the homemade creamed chipped beef, it's all tremendous. The sandwiches are second to none in this area, and far and away the most creative. The Razorback is my personal favorite. Wally makes a lot of his items in house. I can't say enough about how absolutely teriffic this place is. It's a must try and institution on Allentown's west end. read more

Wally's Deli - The Hen House. 4 eggs sausage pork roll cheese and hash brown on a spinach wrap - Delis Near Me - Allentown, Pennsylvania

Placed an order for pickup today. Cook was not wearing a mask and other two employees had mask down until I walked in. One then pulled it up fully and the other over her mouth. read more

The wife and I took a walk here to check it out and were blown away by the food and service! This is the place we've been looking for! :)

For a business to blatantly disregard the health recommendations and safety of their customers and employees and not require masks to be work is disgusting and irresponsible. Wally's was overpriced to begin with and now with the lack of masks I will never go to this establishment again . read more

Wally's has lots of great sandwich's. Tried the reuben which was good but a little overloaded with salty kraut. The grilled cheesesteak was very, very good. Staff is extremely friendly and does a great job. Was there with my Mom and she had the tuna which she loved. My wife had the ham wrap which she highly recommends. read more

There food I'd pretty good. My go-to is the taco salad. You wouldn't know by the outside of the place but the food is good. But the people making, touching, packaging, etc. your food should be very clean. Like operating room clean. The people who run this place made their stance very clear when covid took over. That they don't give a damn about being clean and healthy. They also showed that they didn't care about the sick and vulnerable people in our community. By refusing to take the covid precautions and rules seriously, they showed they don't give a damn about anyone or anything but themselves and what they believe. If the people handling your food are putting up a fight and refusing to follow rules to keep everything and everyone clean and healthy, you have to really wonder if they care when not in a pandemic. Are they wearing gloves every time they're supposed to? Are they touching everything with the same pair of gloves, including dirty surfaces? Are they coughing on or around our food? Are they washing their hands regularly, or are they putting gloves on dirty hands? Maybe they never wear gloves. Do they give a damn about their customers and the community they serve? In my opinion, putting their ignorant beliefs about covid and refusing to follow the covid guidelines set in place shows they don't care about anyone, anything, being clean, their community, or anyone's safety. Putting your ignorant and misguided political beliefs before safety and cleanliness is wrong. Am I safe to eat there again? Is the food, packaging, or restaurant contaminated? It doesn't matter how good the food is if I'm going to get sick in their restaurant or from eating their food. read more

Used to like this place, but for some reason there was a little girl running around all over. She was behind the counter in the food prep area, in the bathroom, and all over the place. The pork bbq was fatty. Only half of the sandwich was edible. read more

We used to love coming to Wally's, but we are no longer customers. My daughter has a medical condition and we are doing everything we can to keep her safe, including every now and again getting takeout from some of her favorite restaurants. However, my family's health is apparently not a concern to the staff at Wally's, as they were not wearing masks while making our food. I thought supporting a small business was important, but I would rather support any business that recognizes that the world is bigger than them. I hope one day you don't have to have concern about your child's health while others flaunt their selfishness. read more

Just ordered pickup from Emmaus location. Might not even eat the sandwich. The two stressed women working the counter were not wearing masks as they were assembling the sandwiches. Trying my best to support local, but this was unfortunate. Won't be back. read more

Starting with the menu- so many choices but so hard to read. They use multiple abbreviations and don't have a key. Menus like this frustrate me and make me want to just leave (stupid but true). I settled on a small chicken salad sandwich. It was good but nothing special. The sizes were crazy. A small was more than enough for me. My husband had a medium and it seemed like the perfect size for him. The only thing I didn't like was the overuse of bread. I love carbs but three layers of bread is obnoxious. You couldn't even taste the meat and cheese. The building was larger than I expected from the outside with more seating in the back. The building was extremely cold and made eating an uncomfortable experience. read more

Good great as long as the cook sheri is working the other dont got nothing on her she makes all most all hot food

These are the best specialty sandwiches I've had, anywhere. My husband and I will generally pick one up at least once a week during the summer and go for a picnic somewhere. You can't beat the chip selection that they have, either. I've been guilty of going there just to pick up a bag of the avocado oil chips. My recommendation? The Pecan Pig... Absolutely delicious. read more

Great service and The Hog was amazing. I specifically recommend the Wilbur due to taste and name.

Dope sandwich spot!!! I can never decide what I want when I get in here it takes at least ten minutes they have such a nice selection of specialty sandwiches and classics as well. The bread is the best part, it's round loaves that they slice in layers it just makes the sandwich that much better for me I don't know why. The waffle fries set it off; they are always nice and crispy. Unfortunately I live on the east side and stay loyal to the Broad Street Deli however, any time I am over towards the west side and need a great sandwich this is the only place I will settle for. I highly recommend stopping by here for a sandwich sometime. read more

Wally's Deli - Italian Hog - Delis Near Me - Allentown, Pennsylvania

Took 25 minutes to get a turkey club. The reason they were "so busy" is purely employment. For a high traffic area you need people that doesn't need to read an order 3 or 4 times to put one condiment on an over priced sandwhich. 12 dollars for a sloppy a** sandwhich that falls apart before they even get it to the paper they wrapped it in is absolutely ridiculous. read more

So, I had to go to my firm's office in Allentown yesterday. Being the day after Easter, and not cooking for our Easter meal, my family did not have anything in the house for dinner. I called my wife and she suggested Wally's because some of the people in my firm have eaten there and recommended the place We order up four specialty hog sandwiches, 2 Wally's Decker, 1 Wally's Special and a Oinker. These are some of the best sandwiches that I have had in a long time. I grew up in NJ where the deli sandwich is an art form. This place definitely rank in my top ten sandwich places. read more

Fantastic food! Ignore the bad reviews from the cry babies who were crying about masks. The food is what matters!

Not from the area and found this place on Yelp - awesome choice! Homemade potato chips, homemade scrapple and triple decker grilled cheeses. Just incredible food, with large portions, prepared by people who have a love for good wholesome food. Breakfast there is always delicious and filling. I recommend the Henhouse. You won't be disappointed. If you can't eat a whole lot slit one with someone. That'll make two people happy. Lunch is just as amazing. My favorite is the Wildebeest, but I want to try the rest of the menu to make sure there isn't something even better. The soups and chili are all made there and taste great. My wife and I especially like the chili. There's a "secret" for regulars there so don't tell anyone I told you. On some Friday mornings there are specials like Wally Toast, Sausage gravy, cream chipped beef, etc. When you go there, you'll find a busy but friendly staff who can explain a very extensive menu of delicious items. If you leave here hungry, it's your fault. read more

Don't let the outside fool you, it was such a fantastic experience! Not only was the menu reasonably priced, but the food portions are a really good size and their sandwiches are amazing. Fabulous place to eat. Food is phenomenal. This small deli deserves the upmost respect along with , food quality, exceptional customer service. Must try the "Zinger with homeade potato chips". If your not from the area this is a great place to stop and relax and eat. The deli doesn't look like much from the outside but once you open the door your greeted and feel like your right at home. The La Hog with Wally Chips is the bomb! Sandwiches here are always fresh a d very filling.

Great food. The hogs (their term for sandwiches) consist of quality meats and cheeses on fresh bread. My personal favorite is the Buffalo chicken salad with grilled chicken and Wally's homemade ranch dressing on the side. A carrot or banana whoopie pie to close out the meal, and I'm walking on air. The service is usually not friendly, unless you know the owners, but the food makes up for it. read more
