Here's the lowdown on Mission BBQ: I really appreciate that the restaurant was founded by veterans. The food is very good, but the portions are on the smaller side and the prices are fairly high for what you get. If you come hungry, you might end up needing to order extra. For our family of four, the meal cost around $60-$70, and we didn't leave feeling full. For almost the same price, I'd probably choose a buffet instead. Overall, the food is tasty, but I'd consider this more of an occasional treat. On the plus side, they do have self-serve drink stations. read more

Mission BBQ - Pulled Pork, Cole Slaw, Mac and Cheese, Corn Bread - Barbeque Near Me - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

We came in for dinner as a family of 12. Our food was ready quickly. Pulled pork was delicious. Compared to other locations I've been to, there was no one to refill drinks or take care of dining guests, and bathrooms were out of toilet paper. Overall, a solid place for take out. read more

I LOVE Mission BBQ! I'm not normally a BBQ person, but I definitely approve on this one! The employees are so nice and the Mac and Cheese is so good! It's so fun to sit and eat in there and enjoy all the military patches and decorations. By far some of the best BBQ in Rehoboth! I always look forward to going back. read more

Okay, I don't crave bbq, except I'll crave like a pulled pork baked potato from Texas, but I haven't really seen that anywhere outside of Texas. The people I was with, wanted bbq, so I begrudgingly went and we ordered the following items to share: Mac & Cheese - really good Brisket - first time we went, it wasn't good, because it was dry - I think it was later in the night that people previously who ate there got the better parts. Pulled Pork - really good Cornbread - moist and not too dry Jalapeno & Cheese Sausage - not sure why I love this so much. Maybe it wasn't as salty as other bbq places? I really like the Tupelo Honey Heat and Texas Twang. I went here 3x and I have to say the staff here is beyond amazing. All super nice and friendly. The Latin guy that took my order one of the time, was really cool and Andrea is super personable. The staff here appears to enjoy their jobs and love them so much. read more

Down by Delaware Tanger Outlet where there's several fast food joints and restaurants, Mission BBQ stood out from the moment you get out of your car and smelled the smoky bbq scent at the parking lot. I can't believe I've never been to one and knowing it's a chain restaurant is even better! I got the half chicken and side salad combo. The chicken was nicely seasoned and very tender juicy. I didn't need any sauce at all. Service was nice and fast. Place was clean. There's indoor and outdoor seatings. read more

"We're a band of brothers and sisters and whatever On a mission to break all the rules" (Willie Nelson) Mission BBQ opened its doors for business on September 11, 2011. Their patriotic theme, mission, and décor honors the nation's military, police, firefighters, and first responders. There is military memorabilia, photos, police patches, and quotations everywhere you look. The chain is up to 142 locations, and although two of them are in my home state, it took a trip to Rehoboth Beach to mark my first visit to a Mission BBQ. Their menu covers all of the familiar barbecue basics - brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, sausage, ribs, turkey, and the customary side dishes (mac and cheese, beans, slaw). We ordered at the counter, grabbed our soft drink, and waited for our number to be called. We split a pulled pork sandwich ($8.89) and went for Traditional flavor and not the vinegary NC Style, a big order of their Fresh Cut Fries ($3.19), and a $2.89 soft drink. The food was excellent. That one sandwich and single order of fries were plenty for us to split. One great feature Mission has is a six pack of different BBQ sauces at every table, so you can find your perfect formula of sweet, hot, or savory notes to complement your barbecue. We had an excellent lunch and sure enjoyed our visit. read more

Great spot for a fast and tasty lunch while shopping at the outlets! Even on Black Friday, when the entire Tanger complex was a disaster, Mission kept plugging along. Came at the tail end of lunch and was able to secure a seat and were in and out in no time. I'm glad I attempted a healthier lunch with the pulled chicken, coleslaw and baked beans with brisket. The chicken was delicious and very juicy as well as paired quite well with all of the sauces. My favorite was the WV style with molasses - I just kept adding to everything. The bun was nice and soft and it wasnt too sloppy! The coleslaw was quite good and paired well on the bun with the chicken and by itself. Not too mayo forward with a great bright pop. I loved those beans. My wife got the brisket solo, which was very good as well, but having the brisket in the beans was great. The staff were all SO nice and helpful. Especially on a big shopping holiday like Black Friday, I felt like everyone was so pleasant and helpful. My wife asked for honey and butter with the cornbread, but they only had butter - the manager really searched for honey and was so sweet when they didn't have any. There were a lot of great looking sides and mains and since my wife and I visit Delaware a few times a year, we will be back knowing we can get a great lunch! read more

Mission BBQ - Barbeque Near Me - Rehoboth Beach, Delaware

Around 6:30 pm, July 6, I called the Rehobeth, Delaware Mission BBQ to order one moist brisket and one lean brisket to take out, but the supposedly "lean" brisket had a lot of fat on the side of the brisket. The second thing wrong was that the order was not waiting for me to pick up when I arrived, so I had to wait about 10 minutes. On the positive side, when I called them to complain the guy who answered the phone did credit the cost ($15) of the non-lean brisket back to my credit card. This experience compares unfavorably with the service at our local Mission BBQ here in Virginia. They always get the order right! read more

My husband and I decided to take a road trip from Virginia to Rehoboth Beach. It was a beautiful Sunday (August 30th) and we drove from beautiful Cape Charles Virginia to Delaware to go shopping at the Tanger Outlets. We were hungry and decided to stop by Mission BBQ. We knew exactly what we wanted as we frequent the one in Virginia Beach often. When we walked there were several teenagers at the registers. One young lady with blonde hair greeted us and asked our order. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and wanted to make it a combo.. before I could finish she slammed down the small drink cup. I stopped her (as she was moving like a robot to hurry and complete the order ) and asked for the larger plastic cup as to give that to my husband. Simple request right ? Wrong! She the sighs heavily moves the first cup between her and the register..with her hands all over the top..and slams down the plastic cup. My husband decides he wants a drink as well so what does she do you say? She slides THE SAME CUP with her hands still around the rim back to my husband instead of getting a new one ! I told my husband not to drink out of it as she had slid it across the counter with her hands on the opening! Disgusting! Not to mention the chicken was cold as well as the fries were hard. I'm happy to say I will not , nor have to visit this location again! I don't know if this young lady was tired...overheated or just plain rude to folks that don't look like her. I just have the satisfaction and choice of knowing not to spend my money where I am not welcome. I'll keep going to my own Mission BBQ where all our truly welcome. read more

I love the pulled pork but the pulled chicken was dry and flavorless. Having been to other locations I think it's different at each one. The corn bread was also overcooked and dry. I wouldn't go back. read more

We're visiting from Philadelphia and decided to stop by Mission BBQ here in Delaware--and let me just say, this place left a lasting impression on our family. From the moment we walked in, Janiah (GSR) greeted us with a bright smile and a full breakdown of what to expect. Her energy and attention made us feel like more than just customers--it felt like home. And Dwayne D (the DRL) sealed the deal with genuine hospitality, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit. The food? Incredible. Flavorful, fresh, and served with care. My mother, who never asks for seconds, went back for more sides--which says everything. Store 134, you guys truly rock. Thank you for giving us such a great experience. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town! read more

Unfortunately, despite the friendliness of the staff, the food preparation has tons of surface cross contamination, resulting in what is at best unclean, and at worst unsafe food. The person prepping our sides used the same gloves to clean, wipe up spills, adjust their pants/belt, and full-hand grip the inside and bottoms of our side containers. We spent money on food we felt too uncomfortable to eat. It's very sad to see your money go like that. I'm sure the food is delicious, im sorry, but we wouldn't know I've never done a review before, I just wanted to warn people that care about food safety. Came here for a quick lunch today and had a great experience! The food is always good, but the service at this location was AMAZING. This place is a 10/10 in my books. Not only do they heavily support and feed our military and their families but they also support all first responders. Thats only one reason to like it so much, you open the door and are greeted pleasantly and personally by every team member. The food is just mouth watering. This is bbq done correctly 1000%. Slow smoked all day. Everything is scratch made. It's legit. The brisket melts in your mouth. The pulled pork is ridiculous. Coleslaw is very good. The cornbread is some of the best I've had. Oh then there the ridiculous strawberry shortcake. Mmmmmm. Sooo good. Folks here are beyond friendly and will talk to you all day if you want but will also give you space if that's your jam. Epic place I will certainly try again. Btw they have video monitors going with photos of military and first responders. It's a great atmosphere. read more

First time at any Mission Barbecue! The staff were very kind and friendly. Food was excellent and the establishment was very clean. The servers were very attentive and offered to take our trays once we were finished. Honestly would come again just for the service! We got the Baby Back Ribs, Brisket, Mac n Cheese, and Coleslaw. The meat fell off the bone easily, brisket was nicely smoked, seasoned, and moist (can choose lean or moist). Each meat comes with cornbread, the mac n cheese was tasty and you could tell they used real cheddar, and the coleslaw was fresh and had a nice kick from the fresh pepper as well. read more

Stopped by Mission BBQ in Rehoboth and had an awesome experience. Tyson took care of me and really made the visit easy. He broke down the menu in a way that made it super simple to choose, and you could tell he actually cared about making sure I got exactly what I wanted. The food was great, but honestly the customer service made it even better. Big thanks to Tyson for making the whole visit smooth and welcoming. Definitely coming back. read more

I stopped in to Mission BBQ today with my father for lunch. My father is a Vietnam veteran and was wearing a hat showing that. We were treated with an incredible level of kindness and respect. My friends and I went on a day long trip to rehoboth beach and we got hungry, as one does. So we went to the Mission 15 minutes away. Needless to say, Mission is already a wonderful restaurant. We have it in Maryland and I go there so much, a bunch of the employees know me by name. When I walked in, the smell was immaculate. I simply couldn't imagine a better smell in that moment. I went up to the register and was immediately greeted by a lovely woman by the name is Isabelle. Her personality was just as pretty as her face and her kindness echoed. She spoke clearly and I understood every question she asked, which in the food industry, is hard to come by. I ordered my usual, a pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac and cheese. Absolutely amazing. The mac and cheese was the creamiest i've ever had at a Mission BBQ. Not to mention that the mac and the pork were sizzling. The smokey mountain sauce is a classic and a personal favourite of mine, and this meal was just an experience. read more

The best BBQ with a great mission! Consistently great quality Texas BBQ and A+ service. All the folks here are super nice and they hustle. Baby back ribs are simply fantabulous! Absolutely love the nicely charred wet brisket and the "are you kidding me?" rated Jalapeño cheddar sausage! The smoked turkey is outstanding as well. The cornbread can sometimes be dry so that's why you put a lot of butter on it. The six-pack of various awesome BBQ sauces on the table is a real treat too! The freshly made fries and delicious sides only enhance this perfect BBQ experience. Roger that! read more
