    1/2 BBQ chicken platter
    Melissa S.

We stopped en route from DC to Rehoboth. We had a pulled pork sandwich and a 1/2 chicken platter (with sides of macaroni and cheese and Cole slaw) all fantastic, and two sweet teas for just over $20. Super flavorful, and the home made barbecue sauce was so good we bought some to go. We'll be back!

1/2 rack of ribs, potato salad, and collard greens. All were tasty!

Really good ribs, tasty sides, and great service. Hopefully I'll be back to sample some more meats but the ribs were recommended and they did not disappoint. I don't see a sampler-type platter for one person but if there was I missed it and would have taken them up on it.

My wife found reviews for Fat Daddy's and we knew we had to check it out while in the area. The restaurant is located in a rural area about half way between Seaford and Georgetown. We arrived shortly after 12pm and went inside where there were several people picking up to-go orders. Due to covid they were only offering table service outside which is where we headed. Amy quickly greeted us and took our drink orders. I ordered a diet soda and my wife ordered the Mama Frey's Homemade Lemonade. We both decided on our entrees, I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of mac-n-cheese and my wife ordered 6 of the smoked chicken wings also with a side of mac-n-cheese. During our visit we also met Fat Daddy, we learned the restaurant has been in operation for about 8 years when Fat Daddy retired after 38 years as a mason. He told us he took his hobby of grilling/smoking and made it into a business. He was very friendly and welcoming and told us that all the meats except the chicken is smoked with hickory wood while the chicken is cooked on Kingsford charcoal briquettes. Our orders arrived quickly and looked awesome! Amy also brought us two barbecue sauces, hot and regular. We dug in and were both impressed with the creaminess and cheesiness of the mac-n-cheese. My wife really enjoyed the chicken wings and said they were much bigger than the average chicken wings. My brisket sandwich was delicious and very tender and juicy. My wife really enjoyed the lemonade as well. The prices were reasonable as well. This is a definite must visit if you are in the area - everything was a definite 5-stars!!!!

Nice little place on the side of the road. It was pretty busy and I bet if I came on another day when the brisket and ribs were Just out they would have been amazing. They were seasoned well and the BBQ sauce did not overwhelm the smoked meat. I'd pass on the beans and potato salad, but worth another try.

This is definitely a locals place. It is off the beaten path, but very crowded. Not sure if they were short staffed, but the service was off and slow. The pork ribs and brisket were tasty. I was not that crazy for the side orders. The clientele who were leaving as we were entering all had good things to say about the food. Definitely a cool place to stop at if never been.

We stopped by Fat Daddy's on the way back to our neck of the woods after a long day at the beach and I can honestly say, as a BBQ lover, and self proclaimed Pit Master, I thoroughly enjoyed their style of BBQ. Everything was delicious, our waitress was nice, and our food came out in a timely fashion. Fat Daddy's isn't a five star restaurant, it's a double wide trailer with park style picnic tables on the inside, giving you an old school BBQ joint feel. But what it lacks in upscale decor it makes up for it with its delicious food, and home away from home feel. If I was forced to add one area of improvement, and again, I'd have to be forced, we had the three meat two sides platter with the North Carolina Pulled Pork, Beef Brisket, and BBQ Ribs, with Green Beans and BBQ baked beans, and the North Carolina Pulled Pork wasn't vinegary as most NC Pulled pork that I've grown up eating(my Dad is from NC and I've traveled there every summer my entire life, so I'm very familiar). But that's me reaching, because their style of Pulled Pork was still very delicious a I would definitely visit again.

Sadly, no pit turkey anymore. I don't eat the red meat so I don't go anymore. Wish they'd bring back the turkey.

I am not a fan of Carolina BBQ but love the sweeter, saucier kind. Does this place have both?

I know they have a hot spicy barbecue sauce and a regular kind of barbecue sauce those are the only two I used. I'm not sure they may have others behind the counter. I would give them a call

I'm always starving for seafood, especially crabcakes. And whenever I'm on the east coast I already have my mind made up to find a new great place. I'm used to Maryland style crabcakes but today it's a different kind of treat. They were fried with crust on the outside but had no bread fillings. It was pure crab meat and straight delicious. That came with 2 pickable sides being asparagus and baked cinnamon apples. Today I ordered the soup on special which was Cream of Crab and I've never had that before but became my #1 of soups. It's that flavorful and just scrumptious. The delightful, yummy strawberry crème pretzel desert is the highlight of my meal today. I was very lucky to get to take a nibble off the Special of day being Stuffed Shrimp with 2 sides being Mac n cheese and beets. This delectable is 4 jumbo shrimp baked with pure crab casserole. Between the awesome hospitality service that Patty gave and the delicious home cooked food I can see why this place gets packed. There is a 2nd overflow renovation room. It's very nice here and not to mention the fresh salad bar I seen on the way in. I just can't say enough about this fabulous restaurant and highly would recommend it. I'm for sure coming back again.

In an American Mexican Restaurant, it would come with some sort of sauce on top and rice and beans next to it on the plate. In this restaurant, it came on the plate, period. And I was expected to eat it more like a sandwich. The burrito was stuffed much like a Chipotle one. Steak, rice, beans, lettuce and tomato inside. It was tasty. Oh, and no complimentary chips and salsa first. You could order chips and a choice of a couple of different dipping sauces as an appetizer. We ordered chips and guacamole. My wife ordered a mushroom quesadilla. It came, like my burrito, alone on the plate and not cut in pieces. It did not come with salsa and sour cream. She tried cutting it up and eating it like a big nacho chip, but while the tortilla was fried, it wasn't stiff. Floppy is the best way I can describe it. She said that the tortilla overpowered the filling, so she ended up scraping out the filling and eating that, and leaving the tortilla. The cheese was Oaxaca cheese, which was different. She enjoyed the filling. The ambiance was dark but otherwise like any other Mexican restaurant. But the main vibe was dark. I don't think it's fair to pan a restaurant because the food was served in a different way than you are used to. That being said, I have to say that no effort at all was made to make the food a pleasing presentation on the plate. No garnish whatsoever. The quesadilla looked like they just turned the pan up over the plate. The burrito was just sitting there on the plate looking lonely. Not a piece of lettuce or jalapeño slice for garnish. Nothing. We had only water to drink. The price after tip was about $30. There was a 4% credit card surcharge. Not exorbitant, but wasn't too long ago that same meal would have cost half that much! There are a few "plates" on the menu, which by description are more like what we would see in an American-Mexican restaurant. I think if we go back, we would first study that portion of the menu to see if something took our fancy. I would also study some of the other a la carte dishes to try something new. The place really seemed to cater more to the carry out or delivery crowd. We were the only people eating in. Eating at home would probably be a more pleasing atmosphere. If you enjoy authentic Mexican food, I think this will fit your bill. Be warned, this is different from La Tapatia.
