    Inedible brisket

I purchased a $127 to go order for my husband's birthday. I specifically asked the phone for a lean brisket and was told we only have lean brisket. I thought excellent. Despite my request, the order arrived with fatty brisket. I promptly returned the order, only to receive inedible brisket in return. Since I'm over 50 miles away and home, there's not much I can do other than share my experience. This is not the first time this has happened with brisket not acceptable, and it's disheartening because my family generally enjoys this establishment. It used to be a great place, but this recent experience has made me hesitant to order again.

We stopped en route from DC to Rehoboth. We had a pulled pork sandwich and a 1/2 chicken platter (with sides of macaroni and cheese and Cole slaw) all fantastic, and two sweet teas for just over $20. Super flavorful, and the home made barbecue sauce was so good we bought some to go. We'll be back!

1/2 rack of ribs, potato salad, and collard greens. All were tasty!

Really good ribs, tasty sides, and great service. Hopefully I'll be back to sample some more meats but the ribs were recommended and they did not disappoint. I don't see a sampler-type platter for one person but if there was I missed it and would have taken them up on it.

My wife found reviews for Fat Daddy's and we knew we had to check it out while in the area. The restaurant is located in a rural area about half way between Seaford and Georgetown. We arrived shortly after 12pm and went inside where there were several people picking up to-go orders. Due to covid they were only offering table service outside which is where we headed. Amy quickly greeted us and took our drink orders. I ordered a diet soda and my wife ordered the Mama Frey's Homemade Lemonade. We both decided on our entrees, I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of mac-n-cheese and my wife ordered 6 of the smoked chicken wings also with a side of mac-n-cheese. During our visit we also met Fat Daddy, we learned the restaurant has been in operation for about 8 years when Fat Daddy retired after 38 years as a mason. He told us he took his hobby of grilling/smoking and made it into a business. He was very friendly and welcoming and told us that all the meats except the chicken is smoked with hickory wood while the chicken is cooked on Kingsford charcoal briquettes. Our orders arrived quickly and looked awesome! Amy also brought us two barbecue sauces, hot and regular. We dug in and were both impressed with the creaminess and cheesiness of the mac-n-cheese. My wife really enjoyed the chicken wings and said they were much bigger than the average chicken wings. My brisket sandwich was delicious and very tender and juicy. My wife really enjoyed the lemonade as well. The prices were reasonable as well. This is a definite must visit if you are in the area - everything was a definite 5-stars!!!!

Nice little place on the side of the road. It was pretty busy and I bet if I came on another day when the brisket and ribs were Just out they would have been amazing. They were seasoned well and the BBQ sauce did not overwhelm the smoked meat. I'd pass on the beans and potato salad, but worth another try.

This is definitely a locals place. It is off the beaten path, but very crowded. Not sure if they were short staffed, but the service was off and slow. The pork ribs and brisket were tasty. I was not that crazy for the side orders. The clientele who were leaving as we were entering all had good things to say about the food. Definitely a cool place to stop at if never been.

Sadly, no pit turkey anymore. I don't eat the red meat so I don't go anymore. Wish they'd bring back the turkey.

I am not a fan of Carolina BBQ but love the sweeter, saucier kind. Does this place have both?

I know they have a hot spicy barbecue sauce and a regular kind of barbecue sauce those are the only two I used. I'm not sure they may have others behind the counter. I would give them a call

We always had it delivered to our house otherwise. My usual is a couple orders of wings, coleslaw, and deviled eggs. His is chicken tenders and a slew of sides. I've also had the fish tacos which were great! They do a great job for gluten free folks like myself and I am SO grateful for that. Last time I came here I brought family from across the bridge. They were visiting us and we decided to eat somewhere versus fussing at the house. No one was impressed including me. The chicken Chesapeake was terrible. The chicken was so rubbery, I ended up only eating the crab dip and calling it a day. Glad we ordered a ton of sides and wings because it was disappointing. For the price, my family was not thrilled with the quality especially given some of our other frequented actual seafood spots. I'm sure I'll order out some time again but probably just sticking to what small order I normally get.

The place was pretty busy the hostess asked how many said 2 she said well I have to find you a table. I looked at the bar and saw there were seats open so I said we would sit at the bar. As we sat one of the bartenders was putting down menus and asking what we wanted to drink. Wife ordered an ice tea and I had the Strawberry lemonade drink, it was ok tasted like liquor then I noticed it want mixed up. See pictures. First I need to say I can't believe that a business owner would let their employees drink alcohol while working. There was a guy making drinks complaining because someone didn't take dishes in the back so he had to do it, he wasn't doing really nothing else making drinks and then sitting at the bar drinking beer. Then he got up made a bunch of drinks then I watched he made at least six shots him and some other servers took them to the other end of the bar and they drank them with some other people. Now the owner is out 6 shots how many times a night is this done? For dinner my wife had a salad and cup of cream of crab soup she said the soup was good just needed more seasoning so else asked for more old bay. I had the fish and chips, I wouldn't get this again the fish was mushy. I thought I took a picture I guess the servers drinking bothered me and I forgot the fries were semi warm. There was also a band there I guess they were local becuase I had never heard of them or any of the music they sang. If the guy beating on some box or the back of a guitar would stop the music would have sounded better. But the locals enjoyed it so I guess that's what matters. Don't think we will be back anytime soon.

( Did not know it was the State bird) lol Wife had a much harder choice. We didn't realize it was both a brewery AND a distillery...such a hardship.. Well the Wife made her choice to stay with the draft beer and chose a pumpkin flavored ale! We were both pleased with our final selections and decided we needed to eat! The selections are pretty good too. I ended up choosing a personal meat pizza, and she chose the Tacos...both were delicious. You need to go back outside to order from a walk up window and they'll give you a beeper for when your food is ready. Found this odd but no big deal! They do tours here too, and they have a tree house which I thought was nice. (To go up you need to join a tour) . Wife and I chose only to drink eat and play bingo. It was a great night to walk in and to drink and play bingo! Thank you Dogfish Head it was all so good

The tour was above and beyond what we expected! Our tour guide, Susie, was absolutely fantastic. She knew everything and anything about the history of the brewery and the science behind it all. She was so enthusiastic and a genuine joy to spend the hour with! Our tour got to go up in the treehouse and that was very neat! After the tour (and a little bit during) we tasted many beers that are not available to the general public. It's pretty obvious why this brewery is so popular - all of their beers, even the ones you may not gravitate towards (for us, dark beers) are smooth and well balanced. There are plenty of tables inside and outside and some snacky food options. They have corn hole set up as well. We also think we may have spotted Mr. Sam himself while we were there, which was an added bonus! We ended the day in the gift shop where you can buy beer, canned cocktails, spirits and lots of cool merch!
