    Half chicken and pulled pork
    Taneka W.

I have always wanted to try this place. Well... I tried it. I ordered the half chicken, pulled pork sandwich and a half pound of brisket. The pulled pork will be your best option here. It's good and you get plenty of it. The brisket is not brisket, maybe chuck roast, definitely not brisket and definitely not smoked. It had absolutely no smoke flavor or any flavor at all. The chicken was ok. Both the classic and vinegar sauces were not good. The customer service was good.

Best BBQ joint in the entire area. The hot BBQ sauce is amazing. Also checkout their son Gavin for some GC Pickles which are also delicious.

I really can't say enough good things about the brisket. It is tender, moist, flavorful, and the sandwich is about twice as big as you would imagine. The cornbread is like a hybrid corn pudding, and the beans are super sweet. All in all, a fabulous lunch.

Easy five star BBQ spot. We tried a little bit of everything, brisket, pulled port and smoked chicken. It was all amazing! We tried the hot bbq sauce and Carolina sauce which were great and you can tell were freshly made. Will be back here every time we're on our way to Dewey beach from now one.

How about a relaxed BBQ picnic? Enjoy the outdoors, grab a picnic table, listen to some live music, and partake of some excellent BBQ! I loved the friendly atmosphere and the entrepreneurial spirit of the place. It seemed as though the whole family enjoys coming out on the weekends to serve you. There's a food truck with excellent BBQ. There's also a fruit & veg stand. There's also a young lad selling a variety of homemade pickles & framed drone-photos of the sights of Sussex county. Hmmm... ... I'm wondering if anyone in the family wants to brew some beer? :) We did takeout and had a wonderful dinner at home by making some healthy veggie sides to complement the excellent chicken and ribs. Like many BBQ places, their food takes time to make, and they strive to avoid waste. Thus, one should expect them to sell out on their busier days. I would recommend to get there early and/or call to place an order. Please note that they are only open Saturday and Sunday.

They have closed for their 2024 year and will not be back at their Cave Neck location next year due to future construction at that location. Hoping they find a new location for 2025 as no one does pulled pork and ribs as good as Smokin D's does. I'll miss my Sunday lunch and the interaction with the owner and family.

Doesn't get much better than Smokin D's....... Stopped for a quick lunch on the run- 2 very generously filled pulled pork sandwiches, side of baked beans and excellent coleslaw, water $21.00 plus tip. Simply amazing bbq- no fat, flavorful, great rolls and you also choose your own sauces. Eat at the picnic tables, enjoy the band. They are really busy so if you want something best to call and order- they are only open Saturday and Sunday 11-7 and sell out regularly. A local gem for sure

The best pulled pork, and brisket I've ever had. Convenient and fast. Try the ribs. They're so yummy.

A Solid Bagel Stop in Lewes…read more I've eaten at Surf Bagel before, so on the way home from a recent business trip I decided to stop again and grab breakfast to go. I ordered a sesame bagel with egg, cheese, and scrapple, along with a hash brown. The bagel was nicely toasted and very fresh, which is really what you hope for when you're stopping at a place that specializes in bagels. The sandwich itself was simple but very satisfying. Nothing over the top or crazy fancy, just a well made breakfast sandwich that hit the spot. The service was friendly and quick, and the place itself has a unique feel to it. Inside they sell quite a bit of Surf Bagel merchandise, which gives it a fun local vibe beyond just being a bagel counter. I included a few photos because the shop has a cool look to it. I stopped in around 9 in the morning and it was still pretty busy, even during the off season. That tells me this place probably gets packed during the summer months. Overall, everything was fresh, the staff was nice, and it's definitely a place I'd stop at again when I'm in the area.

We arrived around 11:30 and got seated immediately and there were a few open tables still left so a good time to go. I would say the greeter was not super friendly and it took a good 10 plus minutes for someone to come to the table. A waitress that noticed that we had not been helped for awhile caught my eye as I was looking for our server stopped by and took our drink order and apologized for the wait and shared that most servers were just coming on duty. So that was the only negatives I have for our lunch. The restaurant is not super large but it is very cute. Has a lot of cute decorations and a good feel, although I am not a big fan of plastic over the seat coverings but I understand it makes it easier to keep it clean. I ordered a western omelette (don't forget to tell them to add cheese or you don't get any) and potatoes and a biscuit. Also had a glass of the fresh squeezed OJ and it was perfect. The food was excellent and the portion size was good, my only comment was that the biscuit could have been a bit more cooked but the taste was divine. My husband had the reuben and fries and his was very good also. The cost was a little over $50 so not somewhere I would go daily for breakfast but it is located in the tourist area so to be expected. I would recommend a visit for a great meal and I am looking forward to going again and trying some pancakes or French toast. Enjoy!
