It was great that we were able to customize our order by adding more shrimp and changing the potato option to whipped instead of fries. The Caesar salad was too small to be shared but was excellent! The kitchen did not catch the potato switch and send fries which was quickly fixed by our waiter so we had both the fries & whipped! Both were excellent as well! The fried shrimp were a little small from what we expected but tasted great. Overall this was a great first visit and we will definitely give this place a second shot.

We had 4 beers, 2 cocktails and a dozen select size (small) crab. The bill was under 200 before tip. All in all I would recommend Surfing Crab. The sides (the AYCE comes with fries, hush puppies and cole slaw) came a few minutes later. My entree - grilled chicken breast with 2 sides - came a few minutes later. Two large moist breasts, fries, veggies (veggies add $2) and I ordered a third side - cole slaw for extra $2.95. If you are a non AYCE crab person like me, you understand the need to pace yourself during your meal - hence, the extra side. : ) I really enjoyed my meal and my partner the crabs. The service was exceptional - both water glasses and refilling those crab orders. My partner didn't have to ask for crab refills. Before they were done with one order, the server was ready with more to add to the platter. The server was very pleasant and seemed to know most of the customers in the place. The same manager came to the door and said roughly "sorry we don't open until four. I can't let you in" this despite one of the women standing in the rain with her walker. The food here is delicious. But the management is awful. It didn't used to be this way. I'm very sad to see it. I'm amending it to say our server was wonderful. His name is Jadi. He was very respectful and treated us old ladies very well.
