So my boyfriend and I came here after a day at the beach because we were craving tacos. The atmosphere was lovely and it's a seat yourself type of restaurant, which was perfect. We sat down and was greeted by the server and he told us that they were out of rice, which is odd because I've seen loads of reviews saying that they were out of items. If you're going to run a restaurant, maybe you should be more aware of your inventory and how much stuff you should have for the day. They remade the food and the lady apologized for the mistake. The chef didn't look too happy that he had to remake it and I felt some type of way about it. I had to put my burrito in a to-go box because of how bland the flavors were, even with the added guac for $3.... the beans weren't cooked all the way and were more on the "crunchy" side than soft. After we finished our food we went to use the restrooms (beautiful decor btw) and the lady that was running the counter came in and we had a really interesting conversation. She apologized again but didn't really have an apologetic tone, but I told her "It's okay! It's not your fault at all!" And she responded with "yea I know it's not our fault, it's the person who took your orders fault.. but I still feel bad that we almost killed your boyfriend" Not really a great response when my boyfriend could have had an allergic reaction. But okay. That was definitely my last straw with this place and the reason why I gave it a 1 star. We realized after that we could have just gone to chipotle and we wouldve had better food there. Love Taco Reho especially the danger dog...it went from $10 to $13 and they removed a key ingredient..the black beans..was told just ask for them and I've bought probably over twenty this summer. Stopped in last night and it cost a extra $2.45 for the beans and they weren't on it they were in a small container. That being said it has officially out priced itself for me..noticed in the last month the ground beef taco's went up again as well as the shrimp taco which could use at least one more shrimp on it..I know prices have gone up but these are big increases twice this year..my friends and I travel 3 plus hour's several times a month for this food but have begun searching for alternatives..that being said all but one of my Danger Dogs this year were spot on. The other option was chips and salsa, which I guess would have been more traditional, but the fries were very good. They are more like potato wedges and had great crisp to them. The focus was obviously on the tacos: I got the chicken tinga and carnitas. Both were a great combination of flavors and I would order either again. The pork was amazing, very flavorful! The inside looked cool and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves with many drinks being served. I got my order to go, which I will tell you, I was very happy that I was able to walk in, give my name, and immediately be handed my food. Used to love this place, but the new menu Is clearly not as vegetarian/vegan friendly. I'm fine with the single portion size, instead of regular or mega, but now there's only one meal for vegetarian customers. We also lost the choice of having your meal in taco, burrito or bowl format. Now only certain things come as tacos, and other items only come as burritos. The music is still good, and you still get refills on your drinks (even horchata), but the new menu is a definite negative for me. You can order at the counter or sit down at a table and place your order with their friendly staff. I did sample their fare in their original (to me) location, which was a food truck in south Rehoboth Beach; this week, we tried the more established restaurant located almost in Midway. Taco Reho presents an edgy vibe, albeit it with 80s New Wave playing overhead throughout the restaurant, which has a black and blonde color palatte (walls black, tables blonde wood). There's an ordering area, complete with a selection of T-shirts and decals to purchase heralding the Taco Reho brand, where the menu is located. Place your order. Get a table number. Seat yourself. The staff gladly explains any of the menu items to you and brings the food out when it is done. The restaurant itself is narrow, and contains a bar and has an open frontage to let in the breeze and of course flies (would it be Delaware without flies?) We had tacos -- Buffalo Shrimp and one called Grilled Chesse; as well, we had some fries and a hot dog. The Grilled Cheese was a little disappointing, underseasoned, rather bland. The Buffao Shrimp taco was very good, spicy hot, but not tear-inducing. Tacos here are referred as "street tacos," so they are on the smallish size. Keep that in mind when ordering. The hot dog was simply okay. The fries are wedges and are fried to a rather perfect crispiness. They were delicious. Taco Reho offers great street tacos and the fries are good, but perhaps get a hot dog somewhere else. We also wished the establishment itself was cleaner. Overall, good. read more
